Owego Heights Mobile Home Community Introduce
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in the Owego, New York area, it's important to consider all available housing options that might accommodate recreational vehicles, particularly for those seeking longer-term stays. Owego Heights Mobile Home Community, located on Cardinal Dr, Owego, NY 13827, USA, is identified as a mobile home park. To provide local users with a detailed, objective overview in the context of potential RV parking, we will analyze the available information, primarily derived from customer reviews.
The environment surrounding Owego Heights Mobile Home Community is the town of Owego, situated in Tioga County, New York. Owego offers a small-town atmosphere with access to the Susquehanna River and the surrounding natural beauty of upstate New York. The park's location on Cardinal Drive suggests a residential setting within Owego. However, specific details about the landscaping, natural features within the mobile home community itself, or its immediate proximity to local amenities and services are not provided in the available information. Individuals seeking particular environmental characteristics should conduct further inquiry.
As a mobile home park, Owego Heights Mobile Home Community is designed to provide essential utilities for long-term residential living in manufactured homes. These typically include water, sewer, and electrical hookups. For RV owners considering this location, it is crucial to ascertain whether the park offers spaces suitable for RVs and if the utility connections are compatible with RV systems. This includes inquiring about the amperage of electrical service available at potential RV sites (e.g., 30 or 50 amp), the type of water hookups, and the availability of sewage disposal connections. Given that it is primarily a mobile home park, the infrastructure might be geared towards manufactured homes, making specific inquiries regarding RV compatibility essential.
Mobile home parks often provide communal amenities for their residents, such as maintained roadways, lighting, and waste management services. Some might also offer facilities like laundry rooms, community centers, or recreational areas. However, the limited information available does not specify the amenities present at Owego Heights Mobile Home Community. RV owners who value specific amenities should contact the park management directly to determine what is offered and if these amenities are accessible to RV residents, should they be permitted.
The provided customer reviews for Owego Heights Mobile Home Community offer contrasting perspectives. One review is overwhelmingly negative, strongly advising others "Please do not rent from this place even if you are desperate!!" The reviewer recounts a two-year "horrendous" living experience, citing issues such as significant rent increases within two years, problems with the initial walkthrough and acknowledgement of pre-existing damages, unresolved maintenance issues (including improperly installed windows and doors, lack of window screens, and floor damage), a promised but never provided screen door, and a lack of timely response to a furnace outage in winter. The reviewer also alleges poor communication, a lack of professionalism from the landlord, and a general disregard for tenant safety and well-being, concluding that the park is "money hungry and do not care for their tenants at all." This detailed negative account raises serious concerns about the management and living conditions within the community.
In stark contrast, the second review simply states, "Have lived here for more than 20 years." This positive, long-term residency suggests that some individuals have had a satisfactory experience at Owego Heights Mobile Home Community. However, without further context, it's difficult to reconcile this positive experience with the detailed negative account from another former resident. It's possible that conditions or management have changed over time, or that different residents have had vastly different experiences.
Given the significant discrepancy between the two reviews, anyone considering Owego Heights Mobile Home Community for RV parking must exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. Contacting the park management at the provided phone numbers, (315) 677-5444 or +1 315-677-5444, is essential to directly address the serious allegations raised in the negative review and to inquire about the park's current policies and management practices. Prospective residents should specifically ask about maintenance procedures, response times for issues, communication protocols, and any recent changes in management or park policies. It is also crucial to inquire about the park's policies on accommodating RVs, the availability of suitable sites and utility hookups, the monthly rates for RVs, and any specific rules or regulations that might apply to recreational vehicles.
A personal visit to the property is highly recommended to assess the current condition of the park, the suitability of any available RV spaces, and to potentially speak with current residents (if possible) to gain a broader range of perspectives on the living conditions and management. Observing the overall maintenance of the park and the responsiveness of the management firsthand would be invaluable in making an informed decision.
When comparing Owego Heights Mobile Home Community with dedicated "RV parks near me" in the Owego area, it is essential to consider the potential trade-offs. While a mobile home park might offer a more affordable option for long-term stays, the negative review suggests potential significant drawbacks in terms of maintenance, management responsiveness, and overall tenant care. Traditional RV parks are typically designed with the specific needs of recreational vehicles in mind and may offer a higher level of service and amenities tailored to RV travelers. The starkly contrasting reviews for Owego Heights highlight the uncertainty and the critical need for thorough personal investigation before considering it as an RV parking option.
In conclusion, Owego Heights Mobile Home Community in Owego, NY, presents a complex picture based on the limited available customer reviews. While one long-term resident reports a positive experience, another former resident details a highly negative two-year living situation with serious allegations of poor management, unresolved maintenance issues, and a lack of tenant care. Individuals searching for "RV parks near me" who are considering Owego Heights should proceed with extreme caution, prioritize direct communication with the park management to address the concerns raised, and ideally visit the property to make their own assessment before making any decisions about staying there. The significant negative feedback underscores the need for thorough scrutiny and comparison with other available RV parking options in the Owego area.

Owego Heights Mobile Home Community Reviews
Please do not rent from this place even if you are desperate!! We lived here for two horrendous years and we are so thankful we got out! First of all, rent our first year, was $875. In two years it jumped to $920. Everything was allowed to be done while we were LIVING IN ANOTHER STATE at the time, meaning family had to do our initial walk through without electric being on. Then the head of maintenance came back 1 day after being moved in, saw we had our stuff everywhere and made us sign a document saying what things we noticed were wrong with the place which, we’re things THEY chose to acknowledge not us. Head of maintenance also admitted our windows were not placed properly and would be fixed prior to winter. We moved in August of 2020. Upon our 6 month virtual inspection, I noted the window issue, still not fixed, having 0 screens in any windows for ventilation, the floors having many dips in the floor assumedly by previous water damage, our front door, not being sealed properly, and a light being out in my office. 2 months later maintenance came, and ONLY fixed the light and were mad and upset we didn’t say anything sooner?? Also admitted the door was INCORRECTLY installed. Nothing got fixed. We asked the entire two years for a screen door and we’re continuously promised by the landlord it was being ordered and never was. When our furnace went out in the MIDDLE of winter maintenance told us we had to wait 3 days to get it looked at because they don’t work weekends. We had to have family come fix it. Then when we gave our 30 day notice the landlord simply ignored us. They lack communication, professionalism, and don’t even care to provide safe homes. This place is a joke, they are money hungry and do not care for their tenants at all. Find another place.
Aug 05, 2022 · Taylor BHave lived here for more than 20 years.
Dec 12, 2024 · Rose Marie WinstonThis place is a nightmare. The owner and management look for every reason under the sun to try and squeeze fees or of people, they harass tenants, trespass, invade your privacy, discriminate against people with kids. They think their rules are above the law when it comes to tenant rights. All of this behavior is of course the actions of a devout Christian. He'll be sure to push that on you any chance he gets.
Jul 04, 2021 · Harry EldridgeYou call and forget about any questions answered about rentals. The guy was very rude. Asking how much we make monthly and assuming we didn't own a lawn mower. Then asked if we drove and if not how would we get to and from work. They are very discriminatory and I wouldn't offer anyone to live here.
