Pine Crest RV and MH Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Slidell, Louisiana area, it is crucial to have access to objective information to guide their decisions. This overview focuses on Pine Crest RV and MH Park, located at 2601 Old Spanish Trail, Slidell, LA 70461, USA, and aims to provide an unbiased introduction based on publicly available customer reviews.
Based on recent customer experiences, the environment and maintenance of Pine Crest RV and MH Park appear to be significant areas of concern. One reviewer described the place as a "dump," citing issues with unmaintained grounds. Specifically, they noted that "The grass hasn't been mowed at all this year," reaching "at least a foot tall in places." Such overgrown vegetation can detract from the aesthetic appeal of the park and potentially create an unkempt and unwelcoming atmosphere for visitors.
The condition of the RV lots themselves also drew criticism. The reviewer stated that the lots are composed of "rock and mud," suggesting a lack of proper surfacing. This can lead to practical issues, as the reviewer pointed out: "If it rains you are going to track mud inside your RV." This lack of stable and clean ground cover can significantly impact the comfort and cleanliness of guests' RVs and their overall experience.
Beyond the physical condition of the park, concerns were raised about the community within Pine Crest RV and MH Park. The reviewer alleged that "the long term people are super junkie," which, if accurate, could raise safety and security concerns for other visitors. It is important to note that this is a subjective observation, but it nonetheless contributed to a negative perception for the reviewer.
Safety issues were further highlighted by the condition of the electrical infrastructure. The reviewer reported that the "Power ped doesn't even have breakers on it," indicating a potentially hazardous electrical setup. They also noted that "Our plug looked like at one point shorted out and never was replaced," suggesting a lack of attention to essential utility maintenance, which could pose risks to RVers' electrical systems.
The behavior of individuals within the park also contributed to a negative experience. The reviewer mentioned "some guy walking around that makes you feel uncomfortable also," recounting an incident where this person "literally walked up to our camper while we were un-hooking and started asking questions," which made the reviewer's wife "very uncomfortable." Such interactions can detract from the sense of security and privacy that guests expect at an RV park.
The overall experience led the first reviewer to leave the park after less than an hour, strongly advising others: "Definitely don't stay here unless you are looking for a trashy mobile home park. Because that's what it is." This emphatic statement underscores the severity of the negative impression formed by this visitor.
In a subsequent "Review Update," the same reviewer responded to a comment from the park management. They reiterated the lack of mowing, disputed the claim of "nice concrete" lots by stating "Maybe 30 years ago it was," and doubled down on their discomfort with the "creepy guy," alleging he was seen "staring at us." This update reinforces the initial negative assessment and provides further details supporting the reviewer's concerns.
In contrast to the overwhelmingly negative first review, a second reviewer offered a more mixed perspective, based on a stay in March. They noted that "The lot was level and spacious" and found the park to be "Quiet here in March." They also appreciated the natural elements, mentioning a "Lovely little stream in back with birds and turtles" (while also noting a "beware of alligator sign"). However, this reviewer pointed out significant drawbacks, including "a lack of pool would be a problem later in the season" and that the "children's playground need updating to keep kids amused." Despite these shortcomings, this reviewer did find the "location though" to be "Good."
Considering both reviews, Pine Crest RV and MH Park appears to present a somewhat contradictory picture. While one reviewer experienced significant issues related to maintenance, safety, and management, leading to an immediate departure and a strong negative recommendation, another found the lots to be level and spacious, and the park quiet during an off-season month, while still noting the lack of certain amenities and the need for updates.
Based on the available information, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should be aware of the potential for unmaintained grounds, muddy lots, concerns about the community and safety, and a lack of certain amenities like a pool and updated playground. The positive aspects mentioned by one reviewer include level and spacious lots, a quiet atmosphere (at least in March), and a potentially good location.
Given the starkly contrasting experiences reported, it is highly recommended that local users considering Pine Crest RV and MH Park conduct further research and potentially visit the location themselves to assess the current conditions. Contacting the park management directly at (985) 649-3181 or +1 985-649-3181 to inquire about recent maintenance, security measures, available amenities, and current policies would be a prudent step. It would also be wise to seek out more recent reviews from other sources to gain a broader understanding of the current state of the park.
In conclusion, the available reviews for Pine Crest RV and MH Park in Slidell, LA, paint a complex picture. While one reviewer experienced and reported significant negative issues related to maintenance, safety, and management, another found some positive aspects such as spacious lots and a quiet environment during their stay. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives and conduct thorough due diligence before making a decision to stay at Pine Crest RV and MH Park.

Pine Crest RV and MH Park Reviews
Place is a dump. The grass hasn't been mowed at all this year. It was at least a foot tall in places. Lots are rock and mud. If it rains you are going to track mud inside your RV. Then the long term people are super junkie. Power ped doesn't even have breakers on it. Our plug looked like at one point shorted out and never was replaced. They have some guy walking around that makes you feel uncomfortable also. He literally walked up to our camper while we were un-hooking and started asking questions. It made my wife very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving after not even a hour being there. First desk women where nice when we got there but was very rude when we voiced our concerns. They made it a point to tell us we were out of our 4 day rent that we paid. How rude!! Definitely don't stay here unless you are looking for a trashy mobile home park. Because that's what it is. Good Sam should drop these people also!Review Update:Since you decided to reply trying to cover up I figured I'd update the review showing photos. Also, it doesn't matter who's renting the lots. You enforce the rules to keep it clean. You stated the grass was mowed 2 weeks ago? This time of year it should be mowed once a week. Also as you can see from the picture the lot isn't nice concrete like you stated. Maybe 30 years ago it was. As for the creepy guy, at one point he was standing at the end of the road staring at us. If that's a employee then I'm sorry but he either needs to learn people skills or go find another job.
Mar 29, 2025 · Matthew PylantThe lot was level and spacious. Quiet here in March. Lovely little stream in back with birds and turtles (beware of alligator sign). But a lack of pool would be a problem later in the season. And children's playground need updating to keep kids amused. Good location though.
Mar 14, 2025 · andrew wylieWe had a great stay at Pine Crest. I called to book while we were on the road and the owner, Chuck was very friendly, super helpful and informative. Affordable pricing, well maintained campground and very well ran. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay here.
Feb 10, 2025 · lexi scottWe have stayed several times. This time, two months. It is clean, quiet and pleasant. The workers are very helpful and friendly. The grounds are very pretty and we enjoyed walking our dogs through the park like paths.
Jan 28, 2025 · Mary Ann MaysPerfect location for visiting New Orleans or the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This place has many pave sites or concrete patios and if staying for a longer term as a snowbird ,travel nurse or short term project manager , there is no better location . staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. There are 9 acres of lakes on the property, all paved streets and close to the interstate for going anyplace quick.“ Country Living with City Conveniences”
