When considering "RV parks near me," it's important to research various options, including mobile home parks that might cater to longer stays. The available customer reviews for Tammany Mobile Home Park offer a mixed perspective, highlighting both potential positives, such as cleanliness, and significant concerns regarding transparency and accessibility. These reviews should be carefully considered by anyone thinking of residing there, whether in a mobile home or an RV.
Environment in Slidell, LA:
Slidell is a city in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, situated on the northeastern shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The area is known for its natural beauty, including bayous, marshes, and proximity to the Gulf Coast. Tammany Mobile Home Park's location along US-190 suggests it might offer relatively convenient access to local amenities and transportation routes within the Slidell area. The surrounding environment could provide opportunities for outdoor activities typical of southern Louisiana.
The internal environment of Tammany Mobile Home Park, based on the limited reviews, seems to have both positive and negative aspects. One reviewer noted that "It was very clean Everybody had there grass cut It was very nice," suggesting that at least parts of the park are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. However, another review paints a different picture regarding the infrastructure and management practices.
Potential Services and Amenities for Long-Term RV Stays:
As a mobile home park, the primary infrastructure at Tammany Mobile Home Park is likely designed for permanent or long-term residential use. If RVs are accommodated for extended stays, potential services and amenities might include:
- Utility Hookups: Long-term RV stays would require access to electricity, water, and sewer hookups. The negative review mentions being told to "pick an empty spot with the water pipe sticking out the ground and an electric pole," which suggests these basic utilities might be available at some sites. However, the condition and reliability of these hookups would need to be verified.
- Waste Disposal: Provisions for waste management for long-term residents, including RVers.
- Road Access: The negative review mentions "cement coming into the park until you go to the back there are rocks with pot holes," indicating potential issues with road conditions and accessibility within the park, especially for larger RVs navigating beyond the entrance.
Other amenities that might be available, though not explicitly mentioned, could include laundry facilities or communal areas, typical of some mobile home parks. However, it is essential for potential RV residents to confirm these directly with the park management.
Features and Concerns Based on Reviews:
The customer reviews provide crucial insights into the features and potential drawbacks of Tammany Mobile Home Park for anyone considering residing there, including long-term RVers:
- Cleanliness: The positive review highlights that the park was "very clean" and that residents maintained their lawns. This suggests that at least some areas of the park are well-kept.
- Accessibility Issues: The negative review points out significant concerns regarding the park's infrastructure beyond the entrance, with "rocks with pot holes." This could make navigating and setting up an RV challenging, especially for larger rigs.
- Transparency and Consistency: The negative review details a concerning experience with the application process, including a $20 application fee, conflicting information about additions to mobile homes, and a discrepancy regarding the number of available spots. The reviewer's feeling of being "discriminated" is a serious concern that potential residents should be aware of.
- Site Selection Process: Being told to "drive around the park and pick an empty spot with the water pipe sticking out the ground and an electric pole" suggests a potentially disorganized or informal process for site selection, which might not be ideal for RVers needing specific hookup configurations or site sizes.
- Existing Structures: The presence of "double wide and mobile homes with additions added on" contradicts the initial information given to the negative reviewer, raising questions about the accuracy and consistency of the park's rules and regulations.
These reviews collectively suggest that while some aspects of Tammany Mobile Home Park might be appealing (like cleanliness), there are significant concerns regarding management practices, infrastructure, and transparency that potential residents, including those in RVs seeking long-term stays, should thoroughly investigate.
Promotional Information and Recommendations:
There is no explicit promotional information available in the provided text. However, the positive review mentioning cleanliness could be seen as an indirect positive aspect to consider. Potential long-term RV residents might find the location in Slidell convenient for accessing local amenities and exploring the surrounding natural environment.
Given the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews, it is strongly recommended that anyone considering Tammany Mobile Home Park for a long-term RV stay (or mobile home residency) conduct a thorough on-site visit and ask detailed questions of the management. Key inquiries should include:
- Availability and suitability of RV sites for long-term stays.
- Specific details about utility hookups (electricity, water, sewer) at RV sites, including their condition and reliability.
- The condition of the roads and accessibility within the park, especially beyond the entrance.
- The process for site selection and any associated fees (like the reported application fee).
- Rules and regulations regarding RVs and any potential additions or modifications.
- The length of stay permitted for RVs and the terms of residency.
- Any amenities available to long-term RV residents.
- Clarification on the discrepancies reported in the negative review regarding available spots and park rules.
By asking these questions and carefully observing the park's conditions firsthand, potential residents can make a more informed decision about whether Tammany Mobile Home Park meets their needs and expectations for a long-term stay.
In conclusion, Tammany Mobile Home Park in Slidell, LA, presents a mixed picture for those seeking "RV parks near me" for long-term stays. While one review praises its cleanliness, another raises significant concerns about accessibility, transparency, and management practices. Potential residents should proceed with caution, thoroughly investigate the park, and seek clear and consistent information from the management before committing to a long-term stay. The reported issues highlight the importance of on-site visits and detailed inquiries when considering any mobile home park for RV residency.

Tammany Mobile Home Park Reviews
$20 for application fee. We asked about additions and the lady next to him said no. So he said no addition added to the side of the mobile home. He said there are 50 available spots. Lies.... He said drive around the park and pick an empty spot with the water pipe sticking out the ground and an electric pole. We drove the whole park. This is what we found. A double wide and mobile homes with additions added on. We felt discriminated. There is cement coming into the park until you go to the back there are rocks with pot holes. Sharing my experience. I'm not interested in lies.

Apr 01, 2024 · Ser SA complete dive. Slidells only slum Lord. They collect rent, order you not to repair anything but refuse to fix the floors that are falling through or the air conditioner that doesn't work. They do leave you alone and it's fairly quiet, but that's about it.
