Plaza Del Rey Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" or considering a mobile home park for long-term living in Sunnyvale, California, Plaza Del Rey, located at 1225 Vienna Dr #228, Sunnyvale, CA 94089, USA, warrants consideration. While one reviewer noted that the "park is very nice," it is crucial to present a balanced perspective based on all available feedback to help you make an informed decision.
One of the potential positive aspects mentioned is the general appearance of the park. The statement "park is very nice" suggests that the physical environment may be well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. This could include landscaping and overall cleanliness, which are important factors for those seeking a comfortable living space within the "RV parks near me" category.
However, it is essential to address significant concerns raised by other residents. A recurring theme in the reviews is related to parking. One resident recounted a negative experience of their own vehicle being towed from in front of their home due to parking pass issues, despite being a resident. This suggests potential complexities and strict enforcement of parking rules that residents and their guests need to be acutely aware of. For those who frequently have visitors or rely on accessible parking, this appears to be a critical consideration when evaluating Plaza Del Rey as a potential "RV park near me" or mobile home community.
The difficulties with guest parking are further emphasized, with the reviewer stating that it is "limited" and that finding handicap parking close to one's home can be challenging. The specific incident involving a disabled veteran's vehicle being towed shortly after a specified time, despite displaying a handicap license plate, raises serious concerns about visitor accessibility and the enforcement of parking regulations. This feedback strongly suggests that Plaza Del Rey may not be visitor-friendly, a significant factor for individuals who regularly receive guests.
Another significant concern raised by a resident pertains to the perceived lack of security within the park. The reviewer stated that security is "worthless," with infrequent sightings of security personnel. The reported robbery of a neighbor and multiple car break-ins within carports and guest parking areas are serious allegations that potential residents should consider. The claim that the park management did not address the aftermath of these incidents, such as cleaning up broken glass, further contributes to concerns about the overall safety and responsiveness of the management. For individuals prioritizing security when searching for "RV parks near me" or a mobile home park, these claims warrant careful consideration and further investigation.
Beyond parking and security, a financial aspect was also highlighted. One reviewer noted that "the space rent is about $500 more than rent in comparable parks in the area." This significant cost difference is a crucial factor for budget-conscious individuals exploring their options for long-term RV or mobile home living in Sunnyvale. It suggests that while the park may have some appealing qualities, the financial commitment could be considerably higher compared to other similar communities in the vicinity.
The negative sentiment expressed by one long-term resident is particularly strong. The reviewer stated they are "ready to sell my home and take the loss" due to the negative experiences within the park, particularly concerning the management ("Hometown America and their managers") and the towing practices. This level of dissatisfaction suggests systemic issues that potential residents should be aware of before making a decision.
Based on the available reviews, while Plaza Del Rey may present a "nice" initial impression, there are significant concerns regarding parking policies, guest accessibility, security, and the cost of space rent compared to comparable parks. These issues appear to have led to considerable frustration and dissatisfaction for at least one long-term resident.
For individuals actively searching within the "RV parks near me" category or considering a mobile home in Plaza Del Rey, it is strongly recommended to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include:
- Contacting the park directly at (408) 734-2746 or +1 408-734-2746 to inquire about current space rent, parking regulations for residents and guests (including handicap accessibility), and security measures in place.
- Requesting a detailed explanation of the parking pass system and the consequences of non-compliance.
- Inquiring about the frequency and visibility of security personnel and any recent security incidents.
- If possible, speaking with current residents to gain firsthand perspectives on the community, management responsiveness, and the enforcement of park rules.
- Comparing the space rent and fees at Plaza Del Rey with those of other mobile home and RV parks in the Sunnyvale area to assess its financial competitiveness.
Given the serious concerns raised in the reviews, particularly regarding towing practices and security, potential residents should carefully weigh these factors against any perceived positive aspects of the park. The decision to reside in Plaza Del Rey should be made with a full understanding of the potential challenges reported by current residents.
In conclusion, while Plaza Del Rey in Sunnyvale, CA, may have some aesthetic appeal, potential residents searching within the "RV parks near me" category or considering purchasing a mobile home there should be aware of reported issues concerning high space rent, strict and potentially problematic parking enforcement (especially for guests and handicap access), and concerns about security. Thorough investigation and direct communication with the park management and current residents are crucial steps in making an informed decision about whether Plaza Del Rey aligns with your long-term living needs and expectations.

Plaza Del Rey Reviews
Showed manufactured homes here and the park is very nice. The only problem is that the space rent is about $500 more than rent in comparable parks in the area.
Feb 27, 2019 · Cheryl Rivera SmithI recently had my car towed from right in front of my home because I did not have a parking pass. I live here! They provided me with a pass to place on my car and then change the rules and tell me I need a pass from the office! This is complete B.S. If you plan to move here,, think about the guest you plan to have visit you and how and where they park. This park has not visitor friendly. Guest parking is limited and good luck finding handicap parking close to your home. Over the holidays, my son came to visit. He is disabled as he is a disabled vet. Handicap license plate and was towed literally 3 minutes after 10pm. The company they use is here waiting outside the park at 9:45 to stalk and steal cars as soon as 10pm hits. I'm ready to sell my home and take the loss. Had I known how bad this park really was with Hometown America and their managers, I never would've moved here. My suggestion, find another place.Other issues, Security is worthless! You see them once per evening. My neighbor was robbed in January. Does the park care, I don't think so. Several cars broken into while in the carports and guest parking. Glass from shattered windows still there. The park won't clean it up. Think about your safety and your property. You don't want to move here. Security non existent, manager and park staff don't care about you, only your rent. Tow Trucks are Predators! This park is so horrible. This review can't give negative marks enough. One star, I'd say Negative 5 Stars
Feb 13, 2024 · Quest KnowledgeHelped a friend move out of her place. I don't know much about mobile home parks don't know if this place is a good deal overpriced or a good price. What I can tell you that is clean. Nice, quiet, easy to get to.
Mar 18, 2024 · Christopher LewisNew owners are not taking care of the pools. On these hot days the health department came and shut the main pool down and it was green. Ugh!
Jul 04, 2024 · Peggy PhillipsThe streets are all two-way so try to keep to the right and avoid cutting corners at intersections. Watch out for folks popping out from the bushes or driveways into the street. There's no sidewalk for cushioning. The rent is high and the homes are cheap. Great for folks with solid earning capacity and limited savings. Much more pleasant and affordable than apartment living in this area. When my stereo is on full blast, the sound is barely detectable from the outside when the windows are closed.Without a strong investment portfolio or bullet proof pension plan, one should plan to remain productive to grow old here. The people you see walking and biking on a daily basis are investing in their financial future. We all try to make the most out of what we have.Casa across the street is nice! You are allowed to be eccentric with your home. Adobe down the block is awesome with a real park setting. Homes in PDR are hands down the most bang for your buck.Space rent for any unit for sale is usually noted in the listing on redfin.com, in the section of property details (click for full details below key details.) If not, check the transaction history for the last sale. The more recent the last sale, the higher the rate. With the MOU in place, things are looking up!
