Red River R RV Park & Self Storage Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Thackerville, Oklahoma area, Red River R RV Park & Self Storage, located at 12424 Nashoba Rd, Thackerville, OK 73459, USA, presents itself as an option. They can be reached at (940) 390-2202 or their mobile number +1 940-390-2202. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of significant negative feedback regarding the park's management and maintenance, as detailed in multiple customer reviews.
Several reviewers recount deeply concerning experiences with the owner of Red River R RV Park & Self Storage, identified as Cole. A recurring issue involves the electrical infrastructure serving the RV sites. One reviewer, who visited friends living at the park multiple times over a year, reported that the electrical box connecting to their friends' camper blew up on three separate occasions within that timeframe. Alarmingly, the owner allegedly demonstrated a lack of urgency in addressing these potentially dangerous electrical failures, suggesting residents would have to wait until Monday for an electrician even if an incident occurred on a weekend. In one instance, the resident, left without power and with no alternative accommodation, took it upon themselves to repair the electrical issue. While the owner reportedly agreed to reimburse the costs and labor, the reimbursement process was delayed and the check was initially sent to the wrong address, highlighting a lack of attention to detail.
Furthermore, the same reviewer notes a pattern of the owner being unresponsive to residents' communication attempts. Phone calls were frequently ignored, with the owner allegedly stating that he did not deem it necessary to return calls. This lack of communication posed significant problems, particularly when residents were trying to finalize their move-out process and required the owner to respond to a renter's verification form from their new landlord. The owner's failure to respond in a timely manner caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for the departing tenants.
Perhaps the most disturbing allegations involve the owner's behavior following the departure of several residents. According to the reviews, the owner sent out emails soliciting 5-star reviews to counteract the negative impact of multiple vacancies. When he discovered that some former residents had not provided positive reviews, his reaction was reportedly extreme and inappropriate. One reviewer recounts receiving voice messages from the owner containing threats and highly offensive remarks, including hoping for their death and making disturbing comments about their child. Additionally, the owner allegedly threatened to tow the former residents' vehicles, even after being informed that they were in the process of arranging for their removal due to one being broken down and the other unsafe to drive. The situation escalated when the vehicles were moved to the property's "watch person's" yard, leading to further complaints and the owner's insistence on towing.
Adding to the financial disputes, the owner reportedly claimed that the former residents owed two months of electricity when they had proof of payment for all but one month. This discrepancy further illustrates potential issues with billing and record-keeping at the RV park.
Another reviewer corroborates the owner's lack of responsiveness and highlights a significant pest control issue. Following the move-out of a previous tenant, roaches allegedly infested the property, affecting multiple residents. When this issue was brought to the owner's attention, he reportedly blamed the current tenants for the infestation, despite their diligent cleaning habits. This reviewer also echoes the owner's refusal to answer after-hours calls, even in emergencies, and his dismissive attitude towards the urgency of tenant concerns. Additionally, this review mentions overpriced and seemingly unused storage units on the property, suggesting potential mismanagement of resources.
The second reviewer also experienced the owner's threat to tow their vehicles during communication about arranging their removal. They further recount a near fire hazard involving the electrical breaker box for their camper. Instead of promptly hiring a qualified electrician to address the issue, the residents were allegedly forced to purchase the necessary supplies and undertake the repairs themselves over a weekend to maintain power. This incident underscores serious concerns about the maintenance and safety of the electrical infrastructure at Red River R RV Park & Self Storage.
The owner's alleged lack of knowledge regarding proper pest control is also highlighted, with one reviewer stating that their wife had to invoke "By Law" to get him to take appropriate action to eliminate the roach infestation. This suggests a lack of professionalism and competence in property management.
The reviews collectively paint a concerning picture of Red River R RV Park & Self Storage. While the property is described as "quiet" by one reviewer, this positive aspect is overshadowed by serious allegations of owner negligence, unresponsiveness, hazardous electrical conditions, pest infestations, and disturbing personal attacks and threats directed at former residents. These issues raise significant red flags for any local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Thackerville area.
Given the severity and consistency of the negative feedback, potential visitors should exercise extreme caution when considering Red River R RV Park & Self Storage. The reported lack of maintenance on critical infrastructure like the electrical system poses safety risks. The alleged unresponsiveness and hostile behavior of the owner create an environment of stress and anxiety for residents. The pest control issues further detract from the quality of living at the park.
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" that prioritize safety, reliability, and respectful management, the information available online strongly suggests that Red River R RV Park & Self Storage may not meet these expectations. The numerous accounts of negligence, poor communication, and alarming behavior from the owner should prompt potential visitors to thoroughly explore alternative RV park options in the Thackerville, Oklahoma area that have a more positive track record of tenant satisfaction and property management.
In conclusion, while Red River R RV Park & Self Storage offers RV parking and self-storage in Thackerville, Oklahoma, the overwhelming negative feedback regarding the owner's conduct, the poor maintenance of essential utilities like the electrical system, unresolved pest issues, and threats towards residents presents significant risks for potential local users searching for "RV parks near me." It is strongly recommended that individuals and families seeking a safe, well-managed, and respectful RV park environment in this area look elsewhere based on the serious concerns raised by multiple former residents.

Red River R RV Park & Self Storage Reviews
I've visited this RV park multiple times while my friends lived there. I was there several times during their interaction with the owner, and he definitely did not seem to care about the people who lives there. The electrical box used for electricity connections to the campers blew up on them three times within a year, all of which my friend fixed himself because the first time the owner told them they would have to wait all weekend on an electrician. They didn't have anywhere to go for the weekend and couldn't wait so my friend offered to fix it himself, the owner said he would reimburse the couple for their labor and money spent on supplies, he then took about 2 months to send the check and failed to get the address wrong. Luckily, they knew the person who the check was sent to. The other two times my friend just took it upon himself to it himself. The owner would always refuse to call my friends back, and most of the time he would tell them he didn't think it was necessary to call them back, so they just quit trying. This was a major issue when they were getting ready to move, he didn't call back after receiving the renter's verification form from their new landlord. After they left, the owner sent out emails wanting 5-star reviews in order to "help his marketing efforts" because 3 or four people left within two months. My friend didn't want to give a 5-star rating since there are major issues with the property and owner. Whenever he saw that they didn't give him good reviews he sent voice messages telling them that he hopes they die and leave their 16-month-old daughter to burn in hell. He also threatened to tow their vehicles after being told that they were working on finding someone to help them tow the vehicles away as one was completely broken down and the other was unsafe to drive. They were pulled into the properties "watch person's" yard, and then the guy started complaining about the vehicles, so the owner's only "solution" was to tow the vehicles. He also claimed that my friends owed him two months of electricity, when they only owed him one, and they showed me proof of their payment...The owner is not responsive to anyone who lives at this property, and he caused my friends a lot of stress and anxiety.
Oct 21, 2024 · Jessica M.As my wife stated in her review, the owner of this property is severely negligent. A previous tenant moved out later last year, and after they moved out roaches spread all over the property. I know this because I talked to multiple of the tenants and asked if they were experiencing the same problem. Cole then texted my wife blaming us for being the cause of these roaches (I'm sure he blamed everyone else as well). My wife has amazing up keep of our home and cleans daily, there's no reason we should have had roaches. Cole refuses to answer calls after hours, no matter what kind of emergency if happening and will even tell you that he didn't think a call back was necessary. He has overpriced storage units, which to my knowledge aren't being used by anyone, so what a waste of time really. He threatened to have my vehicles towed after continuous back and forth communication on letting him know where I was at in the process of finding someone to help me. His breaker box outside for the camper almost caught on fire, and instead of sending an emergency electrician out to fix the issue, we were forced to buy the supplies, and I to fix the wiring/plug all by myself in order to stay in our place over the weekend.Cole is horrible, he doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to proper pest control, my wife literally had to say "By Law" in order to get him to listen to anything I was telling him about how to properly eliminate roaches from his property. He doesn't care about the maintenance of his electrical equipment used to power campers, and because of this, the day is unfortunately coming that someone is going to lose everything they have when their camper ultimately catches on fire.He sent emails out begging for all the five stars reviews he has because slowly everyone is starting to leave. If we could've left before we did we would have. Yes, the property is quiet, but that doesn't mean anything when you have an idiot landlord who knows nothing about properly taking care of his property and tenants needs.
Oct 04, 2024 · Garrett SpradlingRed River R RV Park is pretty awesome! I stayed here for a little while just last year. It's nice and clean with covered parking available (was like 100+ for weeks so necessary), and the other residents were really cool as well. Big bonus(s), there is an old school diner just down the street with great burgers and a small hometown feel. I also like to hit the blackjack tables once in a while on my night off, and Winstar World Casino was merely a hop and skip down I35. Ardmore is pretty close in the other direction as well if you need more than just a few things the store. It's still very county side all around you, so hardly any traffic, and super quiet at night. Lastly, the management were super accommodating. We only had one issue and they had someone out the very next day. It wasn't even an emergency. Highly recommend RRRRPSS!
