Welcome, local RV enthusiasts and travelers seeking a serene getaway! If you're searching for "RV parks near me" and find yourself near the Oklahoma-Texas border, specifically around Thackerville, Old Towne RV Ranch (Park), located at 20224 Old Town Rd, Thackerville, OK 73459, USA, offers a peaceful countryside experience. You can reach them at (214) 790-8741 or via mobile at +1 214-790-8741 to inquire about availability and make reservations.
Based on the feedback from fellow RVers, Old Towne RV Ranch (Park) is lauded for its tranquil and picturesque environment. One guest described it as "a peaceful and absolutely beautiful countryside getaway!" This immediately sets the tone for a relaxing stay, away from the hustle and bustle of more urban RV parks. The natural beauty of the surroundings appears to be a significant draw for visitors.
The practical aspects of the RV sites also receive positive remarks. The same reviewer noted that their "RV site was perfectly level and paved with concrete—super convenient, especially with full hookups, even though I didn’t need them." Level, paved sites are highly desirable as they simplify the setup process and provide a stable and clean parking area for your RV. The availability of full hookups (water, electricity, and sewer) caters to a wide range of RVers, whether they require all connections or not.
While one guest mentioned the pool being closed during their early May stay, they also indicated that they hadn't planned to use it. This suggests that the closure didn't detract from their overall positive experience. However, another reviewer expressed disappointment with the pool, noting "A LOT of algae…on the sides and bottom." This indicates a potential issue with pool maintenance that prospective guests, especially those planning to use the pool, should be aware of and perhaps inquire about the current condition.
A significant highlight for one guest was the "gorgeous pond." They mentioned not being much of a fisher but thoroughly enjoyed "watching the frogs and birds," describing it as "Truly spectacular!" This feature adds a natural and scenic element to the park, providing opportunities for relaxation and wildlife observation, even for those who don't fish.
The hospitality at Old Towne RV Ranch (Park) also receives positive recognition. One guest had the pleasure of interacting with Chris, the camp host, describing him as "charming and kind, with a wonderful southern drawl." They also met his wife Kristal, and both were noted as being "incredibly friendly and welcoming." The presence of friendly and helpful hosts can greatly enhance the overall experience of staying at an RV park, making guests feel more at home.
Regarding local amenities, one overland camper mentioned a "small grocery store nearby and a casino," suggesting that while dining options within immediate walking distance might be limited (as also noted by another reviewer who stated, "The closest place to eat is the casino so make sure you have a backup"), basic necessities and entertainment are accessible within a short drive. This is important for travelers needing to resupply or looking for leisure activities.
Another reviewer described the park as "A nice quiet place in the country (except for the trains lol)." This provides further insight into the environment – generally peaceful and rural, though with the potential for occasional train noise. This is a common characteristic of some countryside locations and something light sleepers might want to consider.
This reviewer also corroborated the presence of level sites with full hookups, stating, "The sites were pretty level and had full hook ups." However, they also pointed out a potential drawback for summer visitors: "Our spot didn’t have any shade which was rough in the middle of the Summer but it looked like he did have some shaded areas." This suggests that while some sites may offer shade, others might be more exposed, which could be a factor to consider depending on the time of year and your preference.

A peaceful and absolutely beautiful countryside getaway! My RV site was perfectly level and paved with concrete—super convenient, especially with full hookups, even though I didn’t need them. The pool was still closed during my stay (early May), but I hadn’t planned to use it. The real highlight for me was the gorgeous pond—I’m not much of a fisher, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the frogs and birds. Truly spectacular!I had the pleasure of working with Chris, the camp host—charming and kind, with a wonderful southern drawl. I also met his wife Kristal, and both were incredibly friendly and welcoming. As an overland camper, I don’t dine out, so I can’t speak to restaurant options, but there’s a small grocery store nearby and a casino, so most travelers should be able to find what they need.

Jun 15, 2024 · Kate CraftonVery helpful host. Sites are gravel (4 star) but most relatively level. Fair amount of space between sites & a decent pool/playground area. Lots of burrs in the grassy areas so a little rough walking dogs. Not sure you can get away from burrs in this area of the country. Overall a pleasant stay.
Jan 10, 2024 · Shelley LeeWe stayed here two nights when we traded in our RV. It was exactly halfway to RV dealer, so we stayed a night on the way in our old RV and a night on the way back in our new RV. The owner was very nice and friendly. He was also very understanding when we arrived late because the RV trade-in process took a little longer that morning.Very secure location, clean, and quiet rural setting with nice level spots and nice picnic tables. There is a playground, pool, and pond. We didn't use it, but there is also laundry and I think ice. Many sites had trees, but not all did, our site did not, so other than walking the dog, we didn't spend anytime outside (100 degrees). If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here.
Aug 23, 2023 · Michelle DerusseauStayed 1 night. Arrived after hours around 11pm. Owner was very accommodating. Our site was level with full hookups. Took off early the next morning- the free ice was a nice bonus!
