Based on the feedback from recent visitors, Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort offers a compelling combination of affordability and extensive facilities, making it a potentially attractive choice for both short-term and longer-term RV stays. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:
- Friendly Atmosphere and Affordability: One reviewer who stayed for a month described the people as "Friendly" and the rates as "affordable," indicating a welcoming environment that doesn't break the bank. This positive initial experience suggests a pleasant community vibe.
- Excellent Amenities: The resort boasts "awesome" facilities, including pickleball and tennis courts for sports enthusiasts. Practical amenities such as a mail service and "the best laundry we had all winter (top and front loaders!!!)" are also highlighted, catering to the needs of travelers, especially those on extended trips. For relaxation and recreation, there is a hot tub, a pool, and a pavilion that hosts various activities, suggesting opportunities for socializing and leisure.
- Convenient Location: The resort is described as being "Close to everything and easy in and out," implying convenient access to local attractions, shopping, dining, and major transportation routes in the St. Petersburg area. This accessibility is a significant advantage for RV travelers looking to explore the surroundings.
- Dog-Friendly: For those traveling with pets, Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort is noted as "very dog friendly for most breeds," making it a welcoming place for furry companions. This is a crucial factor for many RVers who travel with their pets.
St. Petersburg, Florida, the location of Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort, is a popular destination for RVers due to its:
- Beautiful Beaches: Renowned for its stunning Gulf Coast beaches, St. Petersburg offers ample opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports.
- Vibrant Culture: The city has a rich arts and culture scene, including museums like the Dali Museum and the Chihuly Collection, as well as numerous galleries and performing arts venues.
- Outdoor Activities: Beyond the beaches, there are numerous parks, nature preserves, and waterways ideal for fishing, boating, kayaking, and hiking.
- Pleasant Climate: With warm winters and sunny weather, St. Petersburg is a desirable location for those seeking a respite from colder climates.
- Accessibility: The area is well-served by airports and major highways, making it easy to reach.
However, it's important to be aware of the application process mentioned by one of the reviewers. To gain entry to the resort, there is "an application process" that needs to be completed. Another reviewer who attempted to book a short two-night stay encountered a "6 page application" and was asked to provide "multiple photos of our motor coach and our dog along with plate numbers of RV and Jeep along with registration." This individual found the process excessively inconvenient, especially compared to other RV resorts where booking is simpler. The fact that the forms were not electronic added to the inconvenience.
This detailed application process, even for a short stay, is a significant feature of Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort that potential visitors should be prepared for. While the reasons for this extensive process are not explicitly stated in the reviews, it might be related to ensuring the quality and compatibility of RVs within the resort or maintaining a certain community standard.
The reviewer who declined to book also noted that "The grounds don’t look too nice from photos, and below 4 stars," suggesting that the online visual representation of the resort might not be entirely appealing and that its overall rating (on an unspecified platform) was not exceptionally high. This is a point to consider alongside the positive comments about affordability and amenities.
Despite this, the positive experiences of the reviewer who stayed for a month and praised the facilities and friendly atmosphere indicate that Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort does offer a valuable experience for those who are willing to go through the application process. The extensive list of amenities, including the exceptional laundry facilities, pickleball and tennis courts, hot tub, pool, and activity-filled pavilion, suggests a resort that caters to a variety of interests and needs.
Another point to note is the presence of a "shooting range next door." While one reviewer mentioned that it "didn’t bother us," this might be a consideration for those who are particularly sensitive to noise.
Given the mixed feedback, potential visitors searching for "RV parks near me" should weigh the appealing aspects of affordability, friendly people, and excellent amenities against the potentially cumbersome application process and the noted concerns about the grounds' appearance and the nearby shooting range.

Robert's Mobile Home and RV Resort Reviews
Friendly people and affordable! This was our first time and we will be back. There is a shooting range next door but it didn’t bother us. We stayed for a month. The facilities are awesome. There is pickleball, tennis, mail, the best laundry we had all winter (top and front loaders!!!), a hot tub, pool, pavilion with activities and more! Close to everything and easy in and out. What more could you want! In order to get in there is an application process though. Also very dog friendly for most breeds!
Apr 15, 2024 · John Dukarski-FrenchTried to book a 2 night stay, was emailed a 6 page application, then told I’d need to send them multiple photos of our motor coach and our dog along with plate numbers of RV and Jeep along with registration. I told woman on phone we only need 2 days. She said everyone has to complete these forms. The grounds don’t look too nice from photos, and below 4 stars, so it’s unclear why this is all necessary. I’ve been booking RV campgrounds for years, and never asked to do this. The forms were also not electronic, so I was going to have to print them out, then scan them to laptop to email back. We travel long term in our motor coach, and this is very inconvenient. We stay in a beautiful RV resort in Key West for 5 months, and it’s simple. Call, book it, pay when you arrive. Needless to say we didn’t book at Robert’s campground. There’s so many other options in that area.
Mar 28, 2025 · amy thompsonThe park itself is okay. Extremely noisy as it sits directly off Gandy Blvd. The full time residents are sweet and the office staff is kind but the owner is a horrid human being. He is extremely off colored in his remarks and speaks to people in a very condescending tone especially the seniors he has working for him. They walk around like they are in constant fear of their jobs. The park has many potholes and minimal amenities. There is one pool, one hot tub an old tennis court, clubhouse and outdoor pavilion. The scenery is not great as these seniors seem over worked and under appreciated so they can not keep this place pristine. If you have to come here it's okay for a short visit. Not high priced but not priced according to specs
Feb 18, 2019 · Wendy BrownThe overall experience was terrible. The people that work there sucked. Management sucks. Do not stay here if you have children. They overcharged you if you have children I paid $4000 for two months make that do not stay here at all
