Sacramento River RV Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Redding, California area, Sacramento River RV Park, located at 6596 Riverland Dr, Redding, CA 96002, USA, is an option to consider. Situated in Shasta County, its address suggests proximity to the Sacramento River, which could offer scenic views and potential access to river-related activities. Redding is a central hub in Northern California, providing access to various natural attractions and urban conveniences for travelers and longer-term visitors alike.
Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at Sacramento River RV Park appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer who stayed for a single night during a road trip had a generally positive experience. They noted that the "staff were friendly & welcoming" and appreciated the park's layout, mentioning "plenty of shade." A significant positive for this reviewer was the ability to take a "stroll to the Sacramento River," highlighting a potential environmental amenity of the park. However, this positive experience was tempered by the unexpected presence of a "large processing plant (paper mill?)" that generated considerable noise. The reviewer further noted the park's location "sandwiched between I-5 & the mill & nearby train tracks," acknowledging the potential for noise from multiple sources, although they found it "not overwhelming." This suggests that while the park may offer some appealing aspects like friendly staff and shade, potential noise pollution from surrounding industrial and transportation infrastructure is a factor to consider.
In contrast, another reviewer who intended to stay for three nights had a significantly negative experience, stating, "Quickly realized that this is not a RV Park as advertised - it is a trailer park." This reviewer's perception was that the park was primarily occupied by "almost all full time occupants, some of whom looked pretty sketchy." Consequently, they reported feeling unsafe and chose not to stay. Despite not staying, they mentioned that the park retained their first night's fee. This review raises serious concerns about the park's classification as an "RV Park" versus a "trailer park," the overall atmosphere and safety, and the park's policies regarding cancellations and refunds. For those specifically searching for "RV parks near me" for short-term stays, this feedback suggests that Sacramento River RV Park might not align with the typical expectations of a transient RV park.
The discrepancy between these two reviews highlights the importance of gathering more information and potentially visiting the park to form your own assessment. The first review suggests a functional overnight stop with some pleasant features but environmental noise, while the second paints a picture of a predominantly long-term residential park that may not feel welcoming or safe for short-term RVers.
To obtain a clearer understanding of Sacramento River RV Park and whether it meets your needs as someone searching for "RV parks near me," it is crucial to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers: (530) 365-6402 or +1 530-365-6402. Important questions to ask include:
- Short-term RV site availability: Inquire about the availability of sites specifically designated and suitable for short-term RV stays.
- Long-term residency ratio: Ask about the proportion of short-term RVers versus long-term residents in the park to gauge the overall atmosphere.
- Safety and security measures: Given the negative review's concern about safety, inquire about any security protocols or measures in place within the park.
- Noise levels: Ask for more information about the noise from the nearby processing plant, I-5, and train tracks. Request details about when these noise sources are most active and if any measures are taken to mitigate the noise within the park.
- RV site amenities: Inquire about the specific amenities available at the RV sites, such as hookups (electricity, water, sewer), site size, shade, and any unique features.
- Park amenities: Ask about general park amenities such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi availability, and any recreational areas.
- Proximity to the Sacramento River: Confirm the accessibility to the river for guests and any related rules or guidelines.
- Cancellation and refund policies: Clarify the park's policies regarding cancellations, especially for short-term stays, to avoid potential issues similar to the negative reviewer's experience.
Given the conflicting feedback, a personal visit to Sacramento River RV Park could be highly beneficial, if feasible. This would allow you to assess the park's environment, observe the residents, gauge the noise levels at different times of day, and evaluate the overall feel of the community firsthand. Such a visit would provide a more informed basis for deciding if this park aligns with your expectations for "RV parks near me."
Regarding the services and features, the positive review mentions friendly staff, a nicely laid out park with plenty of shade, and proximity to the Sacramento River. The negative review does not provide details about services or features, focusing instead on the park's perceived nature as a "trailer park" and concerns about safety. Therefore, direct inquiry with the park management is essential to obtain a comprehensive list of services and features available to RV guests, such as the type and quality of hookups, restroom and shower facilities, laundry, Wi-Fi, and any recreational amenities.
No promotional information is available in the provided data. RV parks sometimes offer discounts for longer stays, seasonal promotions, or special rates for certain groups. It is advisable to ask the management directly if there are any current promotions or discounts being offered for RV stays.
In conclusion, Sacramento River RV Park in Redding, CA, offers a location near the Sacramento River with potentially friendly staff and a shaded environment. However, it is situated in an area with significant noise potential from a processing plant, a major interstate, and train tracks. Additionally, one reviewer strongly suggests that the park functions more as a long-term "trailer park" and raised concerns about safety. For those searching for "RV parks near me," it is crucial to contact Sacramento River RV Park directly at (530) 365-6402 or +1 530-365-6402 to ask detailed questions about the park's suitability for short-term RV stays, safety measures, noise levels, amenities, and cancellation policies. A personal visit is highly recommended to reconcile the contrasting reviews and determine if this park meets your specific needs and expectations for an RV travel experience.

Sacramento River RV Park Reviews
Pulled in for one night while on a road trip. The staff were friendly & welcoming. The park is nicely laid out with plenty of shade. We were able to take a stroll to the Sacramento River. What we weren’t expecting was a large processing plant (paper mill?) which was quite loud. We then realized that the park was sandwiched between I-5 & the mill & nearby train tracks but the noise wasn’t overwhelming.
Apr 30, 2025 · StefPulled in for a 3 night stay. Quickly realized that this is not a RV Park as advertised - it is a trailer park. Almost all are full time occupants, some of whom looked pretty sketchy. We did not feel safe and did not stay. They kept our first night’s fee. I’m surprised that they held onto our $62 knowing that they probably would get this type of review.
May 08, 2025 · Mark MadisonThis place is very beautiful, and I thank them for letting me stay there however they put me under every single Spotlight there was in the park. And it's very busy due to the fact that people live there. It's very well kept, but again you know people are permanently living there so buses are dropping kids off, not in the park. People are picking up those kids and are driving around very active community.
Mar 31, 2025 · Cynthia WintersThe Sacramento River RV park is really nice with level spaces, plenty of amenities, such as, numerous bath/shower facilities, great dog park for pets and a nice location. Easy access from I-5. A bit noisy at times but not distracting enough from a good night's sleep. Friendly staff welcomes...will definitely stay again.
Mar 13, 2025 · Brenda O'SullivanSuch a great park. Ruthie and Jason in management have been amazing, they stay on top of this park so it’s always pristine. I love the events they put on, like they just had Christmas decorating one day which my kids had so much fun and just a couple days ago they had an event with Santa for pictures which was great since I haven’t had a chance to take my kids to get pictures done this year. Ruthie’s always so obliging when I pop in to get mail. Even though she’s always busy getting something done, she’s still so friendly and will help me if I have any questions. And Jason seems like he works nonstop, I’m not sure if he ever takes a break! He’s always going around the park getting stuff done whether it’s yard work, work in the buildings, the playground or the pool, but he’s on top of everything. Between the two of them, this park has definitely gotten such an upgrade since I’ve stayed here. Between them upgrading the landscaping and the spaces, I’m glad I chose a park to stay in with such enthusiastic and driven management. The management and how well maintained the park is, is the reason I’ve decided to stay here so long with my family.
