Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC Introduce
For local residents seeking information about housing options that might fall under the search category of "RV parks near me," particularly those considering mobile home parks in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area, Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC, located at 1467 LA-384, Lake Charles, LA 70607, USA, presents a complex situation following significant hurricane damage. It is crucial for potential residents to be aware of the current state of the park based on recent customer reviews to make an informed decision.
The location of Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC on LA-384 in Lake Charles places it within Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana. Lake Charles is a major city in the region, offering various amenities and services. However, the reviews indicate that the park itself has been severely impacted by Hurricanes Laura and Delta, which occurred in close succession. This catastrophic damage has fundamentally altered the landscape and the nature of the housing available within Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC.
According to one review, Hurricane Laura initially destroyed the mobile homes in the park, and any remaining structures were further damaged by Hurricane Delta a month later. This level of devastation suggests that the original infrastructure and housing units within Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC were largely lost. The park has since been "refilled with FEMA trailers," indicating that the current housing consists of temporary units provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the disaster recovery efforts. This is a critical piece of information for anyone considering residency, as FEMA trailers are typically intended as temporary housing solutions.
The reviewer also notes that "every unit n this park looks the same" due to the uniformity of the FEMA trailers. While providing necessary housing, this lack of distinctiveness can lead to confusion, especially for new tenants trying to navigate the park. This is a practical consideration for daily life within the community.
Despite the ongoing recovery process, the reviewer mentions that "not all units are occupied yet so it’s still fairly quiet." This quiet environment might be appealing to some individuals seeking a less densely populated and tranquil setting, at least in the short term as the park continues to be repopulated.
However, another review paints a much more negative picture of the current state of Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC. This reviewer explicitly states, "I will never visit this park again," citing a personal experience of getting a flat tire due to the "horrible parking lot." This suggests that the infrastructure of the park, at least in terms of roadways and parking areas, may still be in poor condition following the hurricanes.
Furthermore, this reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the overall appearance of the park upon arrival, noting "rundown trailers and neglected landscaping." This description contrasts sharply with the expectation one might have when considering a place to live, especially if one associates "resort" (as mentioned in the negative review, perhaps from a previous state or an inaccurate perception) with a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment. The reviewer strongly advises against wasting time or money on Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC, suggesting that spending a little more elsewhere would be a better investment.
The stark difference in the two reviews highlights the complex reality of Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC in its post-hurricane state. While one review acknowledges the quietness and the presence of FEMA trailers as temporary housing, the other emphasizes the poor infrastructure and neglected appearance, leading to a negative personal experience.
Given that Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC is currently populated with FEMA trailers, the typical services and features of a standard mobile home park might be in flux or temporarily altered. Potential residents should inquire specifically about the availability and functionality of essential utilities (water, electricity, sewer), waste management services, and any communal facilities that might typically be offered in a mobile home park. It is unclear from the reviews whether amenities like laundry facilities, recreational areas, or on-site management offices are currently operational or even exist in the context of the FEMA trailer setup.
The environment of Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC is clearly impacted by the hurricane damage and the temporary nature of the FEMA trailer occupancy. The "rundown trailers and neglected landscaping" mentioned in one review suggest that the aesthetic appeal of the park is currently low. While the park might be quiet due to not being fully occupied, the overall environment may not be conducive to long-term comfort or satisfaction for many individuals.
Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided reviews, which is understandable given the circumstances. It is unlikely that Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC is currently engaging in typical marketing or promotional activities while it is in a state of recovery and primarily serving as a location for FEMA-provided temporary housing. Any potential rental agreements or terms would likely be directly related to the conditions set by FEMA or the park management in the context of the disaster recovery efforts.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" who might be considering Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC as a potential long-term or even short-term housing solution, it is imperative to approach with caution and to seek detailed and up-to-date information directly from the park management. Inquiries should focus on the current rental terms, the expected duration of the FEMA trailer occupancy, the condition of the infrastructure (including roadways and parking), the availability of essential utilities and services, and any plans for future redevelopment or improvements to the park.
The negative review regarding the flat tire and the rundown appearance raises significant concerns about the safety and habitability of the park. Potential residents should carefully assess these risks and consider whether the quiet environment outweighs the potential drawbacks of poor infrastructure and neglected landscaping.
In conclusion, Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is currently in a state of flux following severe hurricane damage and is largely occupied by FEMA trailers. While it may offer a quiet environment due to not being fully occupied, reviews also highlight rundown conditions and poor infrastructure, including parking issues. Local users considering this location as a housing option should be aware of these factors and seek comprehensive information from the management regarding the current status, services, and long-term plans for the park before making any decisions. The negative feedback suggests that alternative options in the area might provide a more stable and comfortable living environment.

Shandy Acres Mobile Homes LLC Reviews
Hurricane Laura destroyed the mobile homes in this park, what little did survive such devistating hurricane, was finished off by hurricane Delta a month later! The park has since been refilled with FEMA trailers so every unit n this park looks the same and that can cause some confusion, especially to a new tenant. Not all units are occupied yet so it’s still fairly quiet.
May 31, 2021 · Mike LegerI will never visit this park again. I ended up getting a flat in this place just recently from the horrible parking lot. I was surprised when I drove in to see the rundown trailers and neglected landscaping. When you think of resort, you imagine a quiet, serene, and relaxing place. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SPEND AN EXTRA $5 OR $10
