Shangri La Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" with the intention of finding long-term accommodation in a mobile home park in Largo, Florida, Shangri La, situated at 249 Jasper St W, Largo, FL 33770, USA, is one option that may appear in your search. However, it is crucial to carefully consider the available customer reviews, which raise significant concerns about the management, community environment, and the condition of the properties within this park, before making any decisions about residency.
Based on the limited online feedback, the environment at Shangri La appears to be fraught with issues that could significantly impact the quality of life for its residents. One long-term resident, who had intended this to be their retirement home, expresses profound disappointment due to "very poor management." This is a recurring theme, with the reviewer noting a high turnover rate of park managers, with "6 managers in 8yrs." Such instability in leadership can often lead to inconsistent policies and a lack of effective governance within the community. The reviewer also strongly advises residents to "Get surveillance all around your place & post it," indicating a perceived need for heightened personal security and a lack of overall safety or trust within the park environment.
Further concerns about the community environment are raised by the same reviewer, who cautions about "rotten people that have no respect for the elderly," specifically mentioning a disruptive individual referred to as the "dumpster police." This suggests potential conflicts and a lack of consideration among some residents, which can detract from a peaceful living environment. The quality of contracted services also comes under criticism, with the "lawn men suck," reportedly either damaging residents' plants or neglecting weed control. This indicates a lack of attention to basic maintenance and the aesthetic appeal of the park.
A significant concern for the long-term stability and nature of Shangri La is the reported trend of "all non resident own properties are being bought out for townhouses, condos, or apts." This suggests a potential shift in the community's composition and purpose, which could be unsettling for existing residents who chose a mobile home park setting. The reviewer explicitly advises potential investors to "Do Not Invest," citing that "the property is full of bugs and critters" and that "No one ever sprays the outsides or the sidewalks," leaving the responsibility of pest control in these areas to the individual residents. This paints a picture of a poorly maintained infrastructure and potential health concerns due to pest infestations.
Another reviewer corroborates the negative aspects of the community environment, stating that "People there are REALLY nosy." This lack of privacy and potential for unwanted interference from neighbors can be a significant drawback for many seeking a peaceful home environment. Even more concerning is the allegation of "thriving porch pirates," specifically naming a woman in Lot 55 who reportedly steals from porches, carports, and back patios and then lies about it. This serious accusation points to potential criminal activity within the park and a lack of security or accountability. The same reviewer also mentions that "the lady that is the head of the HOA likes to harass people as well," further contributing to a negative perception of the community's social dynamics and management.
Given the severely negative nature of the available reviews, it is extremely challenging to objectively describe positive services or features of Shangri La based solely on this information. Typically, mobile home parks offer basic services such as:
- Individual Lot Rentals: Residents would lease spaces for their mobile homes.
- Utility Hookups: Access to water, sewer, and electricity is a fundamental requirement.
- Basic Infrastructure: The park would provide roads and potentially some common area maintenance, although the reviews suggest this may be inadequate.
However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback raises serious doubts about the quality and reliability of these basic services and the overall management of the park. The allegations of poor lawn care and lack of pest control for common areas indicate a potential neglect of essential maintenance. The reported instability in management further suggests that consistent and reliable services may not be provided.
Similarly, regarding features that might typically enhance a mobile home park, such as community amenities like a clubhouse, laundry facilities, or recreational areas, there is no positive information to suggest the presence or quality of such features at Shangri La. The focus of the reviews is entirely on the severely substandard living conditions, negative community dynamics, and problematic management.
There is no promotional information whatsoever present in the provided reviews. In light of the extreme negativity and serious allegations made by former or potential residents, it is highly improbable that Shangri La would be actively promoting its services or features. Any claims made by the management should be viewed with extreme skepticism and verified through independent means, while exercising extreme caution due to the serious issues raised in the reviews.
In conclusion, the online feedback for Shangri La in Largo, Florida, is overwhelmingly negative and includes serious allegations of poor and unstable management, a disruptive and nosy community with instances of theft and harassment, significant pest problems, and deteriorating property conditions. Local users searching for "mobile home parks near me" should approach this option with extreme caution. The reviews suggest a potentially unpleasant, unsafe, and unstable living situation. It is strongly recommended that anyone considering residency at Shangri La prioritize their safety, well-being, and security by thoroughly investigating these claims and seeking alternative housing options in the Largo area. The severity of the issues raised in the reviews cannot be overstated and warrants significant concern.

Apr 09, 2024 · Ashleah LaFleur (Leah)Was a great place to live until new management came they charged me late fees four months in a row after dropping off my bank routing documents for auto pay there is no one at all you can speak to about this as they only go to the office a few times a week for a hour or two, they cost me over 500$ because they are so disorganized and refuse to take any accountability avoid at all costs
Jul 08, 2024 · Mikey BI was a bit worried about moving in by reading the reviews before moving in, However it has been nothing but great since moving in. There are many wonderful neighbors. Of course some are nosey like they say, but isn't that the same EVERYWHERE? I cannot say enough about the area. Quiet and peaceful Yet close to everything. So close to the beach. The pool is awesome. Open late, very clean and refreshing. Very nice clubhouse with plenty of activities. Most of which Management pitches in. They have laundry on site if you don't have your own.and at a reasonable price. Cheaper than laundromats. People take pride in their homes here as you can see while taking a drive thru. There is also a place to play pool complete with cues, balls, etc...Great price for this area. I mean location is everything , is it not? I am so glad we picked this park. Clean, well maintained and all the amenities i was looking for. Thanks to everyone who welcomed us into this little community by the bay. :)
