Silk Oak Lodge Introduce
For individuals searching for "rv parks near me" with an interest in long-term residential options, it's important to clarify that Silk Oak Lodge, located at 28488 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33761, USA, is primarily a mobile home park (MHP) designed for permanent residency rather than short-term RV stays. While the platform category might lead to its discovery, Silk Oak Lodge caters to those seeking a manufactured home community in the Clearwater area. You can contact them at (888) 533-6113 or +1 888-533-6113 for inquiries regarding residency.
Silk Oak Lodge is situated in Clearwater, Florida, a popular Gulf Coast city known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant downtown, and numerous attractions. The park's location on US Hwy 19 N offers residents convenient access to a wide array of shopping, dining, healthcare facilities, and recreational opportunities throughout Pinellas County. Despite its advantageous location, prospective residents should consider the detailed feedback from current and former occupants to form a comprehensive understanding of the living experience.
The reviews for Silk Oak Lodge present a stark contrast, highlighting both positive aspects and significant challenges within the community. One resident, after living there for a year, expresses considerable dissatisfaction, citing "Terrible communication" and a persistent lack of "outside water" for over a year since their purchase. A major concern highlighted is the bridge connecting both sides of the park, which has "collapsed twice last year," effectively cutting off one side of the park from essential amenities such as the laundry, clubhouse, and pool. The clubhouse itself is described as "leaks and smells like mold," further indicating maintenance issues. The estimated repair time of "1.5 YEARS to fix what is like a 12' X 8' bridge over a creek" raises serious questions about the responsiveness and efficiency of park management and its owning company, ELS, which reportedly owns "MANY other parks." This reviewer also notes an impending rent increase of "$118.77 for 2025" despite these ongoing issues and reports that "Multiple homes have been for sale since i moved in and won't sell because of these things." The frequent turnover of "3 managers here" in the last year also points to instability in leadership. Despite these significant problems, the resident states, "I love my home and my neighbors but wish I knew then what I know now."
In contrast, another review offers a more positive, though still somewhat nuanced, perspective. This resident describes it as a "Lovely community" with "well kept grounds." They also note "Good management" and appreciate that management "pretty much leave you alone" outside of greetings. The pool is frequently used and "nearly always immaculate," though the "heated" part is inconsistently warm, being "chilly to cold" in early evenings. Despite this minor point, they generally "enjoy living here."
Based on these reviews, an objective assessment of the environment, services, and features of Silk Oak Lodge reveals a mixed bag. While the grounds are generally perceived as well-kept and the pool is frequently clean (though inconsistently heated), there are critical infrastructure and management concerns:
- Environment:
- **Positive:** "Lovely community," "well kept grounds." Pool is "nearly always immaculate" (though heating is inconsistent).
- **Negative:** Sections of the park can be isolated due to repeated bridge collapses. Clubhouse reportedly leaks and smells of mold.
- Services & Features:
- **Amenities:** Pool, laundry, clubhouse are present. However, accessibility to these amenities can be severely impacted by bridge issues. Lack of consistent "outside water" is a significant service deficiency.
- **Management & Communication:** Described as "Terrible communication" by one, while "Good management" by another who appreciates being left alone. Frequent manager turnover suggests instability.
- **Maintenance:** Concerns about delayed and repeated bridge repairs, unaddressed leaks/mold in the clubhouse, and lack of outside water.
- **Financial:** Rent increases are noted despite perceived lack of upgrades and ongoing issues. Difficulty in selling homes is attributed to park conditions.
For local users considering "mobile home parks near me," it is paramount to acknowledge the serious challenges highlighted in the reviews, particularly concerning critical infrastructure, utility access, and communication. While some residents find the community pleasant and appreciate the peace and cleanliness of the grounds and pool, others report significant ongoing issues that impact daily living and property value. The contrast in managerial assessment suggests that individual experiences might vary, or that there have been periods of improvement and decline.
No explicit promotional information is provided in the reviews, but the ongoing problems and the difficulty in selling homes might implicitly act as a deterrent. Potential residents should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. It is highly recommended to contact Silk Oak Lodge directly at (888) 533-6113 or +1 888-533-6113 to inquire about the current status of the bridge repair, the outside water issue, the condition of the clubhouse, and the frequency of management changes. A personal visit is absolutely essential to inspect the entire park, including the bridge and clubhouse, and, if possible, speak with multiple current residents to gain a balanced perspective on the daily living experience before making any commitments.
In conclusion, for those searching for "mobile home parks near me" in Clearwater, Florida, Silk Oak Lodge presents a mixed prospect. While it possesses aesthetically pleasing grounds and a frequently used pool, significant and recurrent infrastructure issues, along with reported communication problems and management instability, raise serious concerns. Despite some residents enjoying their living experience, the overall picture suggests a community with potential but also notable drawbacks that prospective residents must thoroughly investigate before considering it as a long-term home.

Silk Oak Lodge Reviews
I have lived here for 1 year. Terrible communication. I was also not told when I bought that there would be no outside water and hasn't been for way over the year I have been here. Bridge between both sides of the park has collapsed twice last year making it impossible for 1 side of the park to get to any of the amenities as they are on the other side of the park. This would include laundry, clubhouse, which leaks and smells like mold, and the pool. They state it will take 1.5 YEARS to fix what is like a 12' X 8' bridge over a creek. It is sad as there are alot of long term residents here but hey my rent INCREASED $118.77 for 2025. Multiple homes have been for sale since i moved in and won't sell because of these things and alot of other things have happened this year here as well. The company who owns the park is ELS and they own MANY other parks. This last year they have been thru 3 managers here. I love my home and my neighbors but wish I knew then what I know now.
Feb 04, 2025 · Lisa DearingLovely community, well kept grounds. Good management and other than to say hello they pretty much leave you alone. The pool is used a lot and is nearly always immaculate. I just wished the "heated" part was a constant. We like to use in early evenings and its chilly to cold. Otherwise we enjoy living here.
Oct 08, 2019 · Richard CaplingerDo not live here this place is horrible and treat you bad. The ppl are nice that live here, but they the rent goes up every month and they do less for you and the park every month. They stopped trimming the trees they just let them fall on your car or house and don't pick them up. It's horrible it's close to 700 a month lot rent and keeps getting higher. Was 500 when we moved there a few years ago. I don't live there anymore!
Jun 26, 2022 · Christie Timmreck-ByrdGood luck having the manager lady call you back. Was looking to invest in several homes to add value to the neighborhood, the process their with Fran is a long long time consuming waiting game. As I mentioned, good luck with her calling back, or social skills
Jun 14, 2022 · Lisa PatidesI called them many times on different days. Most of the time they don't answer. I left messages on their voicemail but no return call. I guess you just gotta keep trying to call until they pick up. Tuesdays and Thursdays are worse because they're in meetings. Jeez for someone who's interested in buying a home and living there, they sure don't appear eager to 'sell'. Now I'm not sure if I want my 80yr old mother to live there.... If she needs something, they won't be easily to get a hold of!
