Spindletop RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Beaumont, Texas area, Spindletop RV Park, located at 4950 W Cardinal Dr, Beaumont, TX 77705, USA, presents a location with convenient highway access. They can be contacted at (409) 842-6300 or via mobile at +1 409-842-6300. This introduction aims to provide local users with details about the park's environment, services, and features as gleaned from available online reviews.
One of the primary features of Spindletop RV Park, as noted by a reviewer, is its convenient location "right off of the I-10." This accessibility can be a significant advantage for travelers, particularly those making overnight stops while crossing the country or those seeking easy access to the highway for exploring the Beaumont area. The trade-off for this convenience, however, is potential traffic noise, which one reviewer mentioned but found manageable with the use of a fan.
In terms of services and facilities, one reviewer who stayed overnight noted that the laundry facility (Washateria) appeared "fairly clean and looked in good condition," although they did not use it. The manager was also mentioned as providing instructions for registration upon arrival (after initial difficulty reaching them by phone) and later bringing a receipt and offering her phone number for any needs. The utility hook-ups at the site used by this reviewer "worked fine," and the site itself was "level," which are essential aspects for a comfortable RV stay.
However, this same reviewer pointed out a significant drawback: the absence of bathhouse facilities. This lack of restrooms and showers on-site could be a major inconvenience for RVers who rely on these amenities. The reviewer also felt that the price of $40 per night was "a little steep" considering the limited facilities and noted that Wi-Fi was not offered or mentioned. Additionally, this reviewer indicated that the park is "only accessible for smaller rigs," which is crucial information for potential visitors with larger RVs.
The second review presents a much more negative perspective, labeling Spindletop RV Park as "the worst campground we have ever stayed at," based on extensive experience across the US. This reviewer raises several serious concerns. Firstly, they claim that "the whole park smells like sewage," and that management dismisses this issue. Such an environmental problem would significantly impact the comfort and quality of stay for all visitors.
Secondly, this reviewer alleges that "parking seems to be an issue all the time," contradicting the stated policy of allowing two vehicles per campsite. They claim that some sites are allowed up to five vehicles while others are limited to one, suggesting inconsistent enforcement and potential overcrowding. Parking issues can lead to inconvenience and frustration for RV park guests.
The most severe criticism in the second review is directed at the "on-site management," whom they describe as "a JOKE!" The reviewer claims that the manager "seems to get drunk every night and likes to mouth off to the paying customers," stating they had issues on more than one occasion. Such behavior from on-site management would create a hostile and unpleasant environment for guests.
Given these highly negative experiences, the second reviewer strongly advises others to "Save yourself the hassle and do not stay at this Rv park!" They even suggest that driving an extra hour would be preferable to staying at Spindletop RV Park. The fact that they only gave it one star (the minimum possible) underscores their extreme dissatisfaction.
Considering these two contrasting but significant reviews, potential visitors searching for "RV parks near me" in Beaumont, TX, should exercise considerable caution regarding Spindletop RV Park. While the location off I-10 might be convenient for some, the lack of bathhouse facilities, potential traffic noise, and the serious allegations of sewage smell and unprofessional management are significant drawbacks that need to be carefully weighed.
Local users considering Spindletop RV Park should attempt to gather more recent information and potentially seek feedback from other sources to determine the current conditions and management practices. Contacting the park directly to inquire about their amenities, policies, and to address the concerns raised in these reviews would be a prudent step. It would also be wise to explore other "RV parks near me" in the Beaumont area to compare facilities, prices, and customer experiences before making a decision.
In conclusion, Spindletop RV Park offers a convenient location near I-10 in Beaumont, TX, and appears to have basic utility hookups and a potentially clean laundry facility. However, the lack of bathhouse facilities, potential traffic noise, and, more seriously, allegations of sewage issues and unprofessional management raise significant concerns. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these points and seek further information before choosing to stay at Spindletop RV Park, and should strongly consider exploring alternative options in the Beaumont area.

Spindletop RV Park Reviews
Two adults traveling cross country in a pickup camper. Stopped just for overnight. Tried calling before we arrived, but only got a busy signal. When we pulled in, called the number on the Washateria. Manager gave us instructions on how to register and said that she would be back in about an hour.Didn't use the laundry, but it was fairly clean and looked in good condition. The manager brought us a receipt and offered her phone number in case we needed anything. The hook-ups worked fine. The site was level. There was some traffic noise since it is right off of the I-10, but we kept our fan on and it wasn't too bad. That is the trade off for the convenience of being close to the highway. The price seems a little steep - $40 - since there are NO bathhouse facilities. Don't know if there is WiFi - it wasn't offered.Only accessable for smaller rigs.
Apr 13, 2018 · Morna StoutSpindle Top is the worst campground we have ever stayed at, and in the line of work we do we have stayed at tons campgrounds all over the US. For starters the whole park smells like sewage, management says it’s not their problem that they have sewage issues. Parking seems to be an issue all the time. Paperwork states that at each campsite you are allowed two vehicles. However, that is not the case, some sites are allowed 5 vehicles and other sites are only allowed 1 vehicle. The on-site management is a JOKE! He seems to get drunk every night and likes to mouth off to the paying customers. We had issues with him on more than one occasion. Sure wish I knew who the owner(s) are so I could inform them that I’m sure they are loosing plenty of business because of poor management. Save yourself the hassle and do not stay at this Rv park! Driving an extra hour, on top of the hour we already drove is worth every bit of gas we use not to stay here any more! The only reason I gave Spindle Top RV one star is because you have to in order to leave a review, and I sure hope this review saves someone else’s time and money.
Feb 21, 2019 · Jessica SimoneauxVery clean. Plenty of space for autos at the moment. Well maintained.Update 19SEP19: I have been staying here for three months. No complaints. I got in today around 9pm after driving into Trop Depression Imelda. I went to sleep around 10pm. At 3am the property manager awakened me by hammering on my door. I opened the door and the water was level with the floor of the camper and above his knees. I grabbed what I could and drove out of the rising water probably at the last opportunity to do so. I might lose the camper...don't know yet...but I got out with my truck and drove out of the area before it would have been impossible to do so shortly afterwards. The manager was walking around in a storm, in knee deep rising floodwaters filled with STILL active power taps and heaven knows what else in the water making certain that no one was forgotten. Spindletop RV and their property managers deserve a medal. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication.
Sep 20, 2019 · Kip MeltonIt's a very nice place, very clean & kept very well. they keep an eye out on the property. Its nice they have connections for laundry. The one thing is that they never answer the phone, I was there for like a month & could never get the wifi password.
Aug 11, 2019 · Elizabeth C.This place only has room for really small campers. They also do not return calls. We pulled in and then pulled right back out. If you have anything over 30 feet tops, you will not fit. The whole campground is just one looped street.
