If you're searching for "RV parks near me" in the scenic California Delta region, specifically around Bethel Island, Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina, located at 1440 Sugar Barge Rd, Bethel Island, CA 94511, USA, presents a compelling option. You can reach them by phone at (925) 684-9075 or mobile at +1 925-684-9075.
Based on recent customer feedback, Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina is described as a "nice little spot on the delta." One of the recurring positive comments revolves around the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, suggesting that the park takes pride in ensuring a pleasant environment for its guests. The staff is also consistently praised for their professionalism and helpfulness, indicating a commitment to good customer service and a welcoming atmosphere.
The resort features a restaurant on-site; however, one reviewer noted that it is closed after Labor Day. This information is crucial for potential visitors planning their stays outside of the peak summer season who might have been hoping to utilize the dining facilities. It would be advisable to confirm the restaurant's operating hours directly with the resort, especially if your visit is planned for the late fall, winter, or early spring months.
Regarding the RV sites themselves, one reviewer mentioned that the spots are "kinda tight" but ultimately "very doable" for a 28-foot travel trailer. This suggests that while maneuvering larger rigs might require some care and precision, the sites are generally adequate for a variety of RV sizes. It would be beneficial for those with larger RVs to inquire about specific site dimensions and any recommendations the resort might have for accommodating larger vehicles.
A long-time visitor, who has been coming to Sugar Barge for at least 20 years, speaks highly of their experiences. They recount a family history with the resort, initially visiting with their father's motorhome club. This multi-generational appreciation underscores the resort's enduring appeal. This reviewer specifically highlights the consistently clean bathrooms and the quality of the fishing in the area, which are significant draws for many RV enthusiasts and delta visitors.
Combining these reviews, Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina offers a clean and well-maintained environment with a professional and helpful staff, contributing to a positive guest experience. Its location directly on the delta provides access to waterfront views and, importantly, good fishing opportunities, making it an attractive destination for anglers and those who enjoy being near the water. The presence of a marina further suggests that boating and water-related activities are a significant part of the resort's appeal and offerings.
While the RV spots are noted to be somewhat compact, they are manageable for moderately sized RVs. It would be prudent for potential guests to inquire about the range of site sizes available to ensure a comfortable fit for their specific RV. The seasonal operation of the on-site restaurant is also a key piece of information to consider when planning your visit, particularly if dining convenience is a priority.
Given the positive feedback regarding cleanliness, staff, and the fishing opportunities, Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina appears to be a highly recommended option for those seeking "RV parks near me" in the Bethel Island area of the California Delta. The long-term patronage of some visitors speaks volumes about the consistent quality and enjoyable experience the resort provides. For local users looking for a relaxing getaway with access to the delta's natural beauty and recreational activities, Sugar Barge offers a welcoming and well-kept base.
To get a comprehensive understanding of all the services and features offered, such as the specifics of the marina facilities (boat launch, docking, etc.), the types of RV hook-ups available at each site (full hook-ups, water/electric only, etc.), any additional amenities (laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, recreational areas, etc.), and potential promotional offers or seasonal rates, it is highly recommended to contact Sugar Barge RV Resort & Marina directly. Sep 16, 2024 · Bill JamacaI've been coming here for at least 20 years. My dad would meet with this club here The Motor Home Gang. So now I bring my family and friends we love it. The bathrooms are always clean, fishing is good.
Mar 26, 2023 · Damon HenryBeautiful deck with water views. You can see all the people coming in as they dock their boats. Lots of tables with umbrellas. We’ve been coming here for the past 20 years. Good food but omg the prices like everywhere have gone up! Still recommending for a chill time. Bands play here too. Come have fun! 👍😊
Jun 11, 2022 · Tara MannPretty rough, this place needs some TLC. Only sites that pay a premium for the fire ring can have a campfire. Seems crass to charge people extra just to have a campfire. The day we showed up a couple of staff members were in a screaming match yelling profanities at each other, classy. I can't see us ever returning.
