Almost a year ago we bought a trailer that was way over priced. We waited a month before we could move into our home bc we were waiting for our furnace to be fixed/replaced. They ended up doing the bare minimum to get it up and running. When the hvac guy at peak heating and cooling asked about our heat ducts. They replied "that is not why we are here, we r here to get the furnace working." When the hvac guy told them that the furnace needed to be replaced they still had him do the bare minimum to get it working. In which it worked for 1 month after we moved in. We spoke to the hvac company that came to our trailer and he said he would be willing to testify as to what they said and that he told them they should replace the furnace. By the way the heat ducts were opened on both ends and collapsed in the center!Fast forward 6 months the water went out for the whole park for 4 days. For 4 days we had no running water and they didn't do anything to compensate us, they didn't put us up in hotels. They said it was on our renters/homeowners insurance. The homeowners insurance said it was on the trailer park to put us up in one!Fast forward 3 month half our electric in our house doesn't work! It's been 2 months since they have been notified and nothing is happening! We just keep getting the run around. On top of the roof damages, floor damages, and black mold throughout the house! All the trailers that are lived in are in these conditions minus the electric issue! Yet they are MOVING A NEW RUN DOWN TRAILER IN HERE FOR THE TO RENT OUT. WHEN THEY ALREADY CANT KEEP UP ON THE ONES THEY HAVE!!! Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you guys!!!!! - Nicole Wells

Sunset View Mobile Home Park Introduce

Sunset View Mobile Home Park, located at 926 Hill St Lot 2, Portland, MI 48875, USA, offers a residential option in Portland, Michigan. For local users seeking housing solutions, including those who might be exploring "RV parks near me" as a broader category for community living, Sunset View Mobile Home Park presents itself as a mobile home community. However, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the park, highlighting significant issues related to the condition of homes, maintenance responsiveness, and utility services.

One detailed review recounts a series of problems experienced shortly after purchasing an "over priced" trailer in the park. The move-in was delayed by a month due to issues with the furnace, which the park management allegedly addressed with only the "bare minimum" repairs, despite an HVAC technician from Peak Heating and Cooling recommending a full replacement due to the condition of the unit and severely damaged heat ducts (described as "opened on both ends and collapsed in the center"). This temporary fix reportedly lasted only one month after the residents moved in. The reviewer also mentions that the HVAC technician was willing to testify about the management's decision to opt for minimal repairs against professional advice.

Adding to these initial problems, the same reviewer describes a four-day period where the entire park was without running water. During this extended utility outage, the management reportedly did not provide any compensation or alternative accommodation, suggesting that residents should rely on their renters' or homeowners' insurance. However, the insurance company allegedly stated that it was the trailer park's responsibility to provide lodging in such situations, indicating a potential conflict and lack of support for residents during a significant service disruption.

Further issues detailed in this review include a partial electrical outage in the resident's home that persisted for two months despite notification to the park management. The residents reportedly received "the run around" with no resolution to the problem. This is compounded by pre-existing structural issues such as "roof damages, floor damages, and black mold throughout the house." Alarmingly, the reviewer claims that these poor living conditions, with the exception of the electrical issue, are common to "all the trailers that are lived in." Despite these apparent widespread problems and the management's alleged inability to keep up with existing maintenance needs, the reviewer states that the park is in the process of "MOVING A NEW RUN DOWN TRAILER IN HERE FOR THE TO RENT OUT," raising concerns about prioritizing new rentals over addressing the needs of current residents and the overall condition of the park.

Another review from a resident of seven years echoes the sentiment of neglect and mismanagement. This long-term resident states that they have "begged and pleaded to get several repairs done to our home, and nothing has been done." They describe the park as being run by a "slum lord" whose primary focus is on fixing up vacant, dilapidated trailers to sell at inflated prices, rather than addressing the maintenance needs of existing renters. This reviewer believes that "renters should come first before repaing a empty trailer to sell!!!" and suggests that the high turnover of maintenance staff is due to issues with payment or lack of materials for repairs.

The consistent themes across these reviews paint a concerning picture of Sunset View Mobile Home Park. Residents report issues with inadequate and delayed maintenance, significant utility outages without support, and potentially hazardous living conditions such as black mold and electrical problems. The management is portrayed as unresponsive to the needs of existing residents and prioritizing profit through the sale or rental of refurbished vacant trailers over maintaining the homes of long-term tenants.

Given these overwhelmingly negative accounts, prospective residents should approach Sunset View Mobile Home Park with extreme caution. The reviews raise serious questions about the habitability and safety of the homes, the reliability of essential utilities, and the responsiveness and ethical practices of the park management. The term "slum lord" used by one reviewer is a severe indictment of the living conditions and management style.

Due to the detailed and consistent nature of the complaints regarding maintenance neglect and poor living conditions, it is difficult to identify any positive aspects or promotional features of Sunset View Mobile Home Park based on the available information. The focus of the feedback is overwhelmingly negative, centered on unresolved maintenance issues, utility problems, and concerns about the management's priorities.

For local users in Portland seeking housing options, including those who might be considering mobile home parks found through searches for "RV parks near me," Sunset View Mobile Home Park appears to be a community with significant and unaddressed issues. Potential residents are strongly advised to look elsewhere or, at the very least, to conduct an extremely thorough personal inspection of any potential home and the overall park environment, and to seek detailed assurances from the management regarding the resolution of the problems highlighted in these reviews. Contacting current residents not represented in these reviews might also provide further insights into the actual living conditions and management practices at Sunset View Mobile Home Park. Contacting the park directly at (517) 647-7591 or +1 517-647-7591 might provide the management's perspective, but should be weighed against the consistent negative experiences reported by residents.

In conclusion, the available online reviews for Sunset View Mobile Home Park in Portland, Michigan, paint a grim picture of a community plagued by neglected maintenance, significant utility issues, and unresponsive management. Potential residents should be aware of these serious concerns and exercise extreme caution before considering living in this park.
