The environment at Tameling RV Park and Campground is described as "quite and friendly," suggesting a welcoming and peaceful community atmosphere for visitors. One reviewer from Eastern Tennessee specifically highlighted the "Amazing managers," indicating a positive and supportive service experience. The mention of excellent fishing, with catches including bluegill, largemouth bass, and even walleye, suggests that the park is situated in an area with appealing natural features, likely including a well-stocked fishing pond or access to nearby fishing locations. This could be a significant draw for those who enjoy angling as part of their camping experience. The park's location on IL-129 in Wilmington offers a setting that balances a more rural feel with accessibility to the amenities of Wilmington and surrounding areas.
In terms of services, Tameling RV Park and Campground caters to both RV and tent campers. For all campers, the provision of a "clean and roomy shower house" is a significant amenity. The reviewer further noted the thoughtful addition of "tons of extra soaps in case you have forgotten yours," highlighting the park's attention to guest comfort and convenience. The shower facilities are also described as being large enough to accommodate families showering together, with one large shower in both the men's and women's sections, and the women's facility being noted as "nice and clean and convenient" by an 18-year-old visitor. This suggests that the park prioritizes clean and adequate restroom and shower facilities for its guests.
The features of Tameling RV Park and Campground extend beyond basic camping amenities. The standout feature appears to be the fishing opportunities, which have been positively reviewed. The friendly and helpful nature of the managers also contributes significantly to the park's appeal. The quiet community atmosphere suggests a relaxing and enjoyable stay for those seeking tranquility. However, one long-term visitor, who had maintained a "yearly permanent" site for several years, mentioned a concern regarding increasing yearly rates without corresponding improvements to the sites. This ultimately led to their decision to leave, indicating a potential issue with the park's pricing strategy relative to ongoing site maintenance and upgrades for long-term residents.
While the positive review emphasizes the enjoyable aspects of the park, including the fishing and the quality of the shower facilities, the concern raised by the long-term resident about rate increases without improvements should be noted by prospective long-term campers or those considering permanent sites. It suggests that while the park offers a pleasant experience, potential long-term costs and the pace of site improvements are factors to consider.

Jun 19, 2023 · Raymond BurnetteWe’ve had a yearly permanent for several years. We’ve always enjoyed it, but they continue to increase the yearly rate, but haven’t done any improvements on any of the sites. We’re giving our site up this year and moving on. Sorry to say good-bye.
Jun 08, 2019 · Pat RosenhagenMy wife and I are the new managers here at Tameling Rv Campground. We found that some of the managers in the past really did not keep up with maintaining the property so we are trying very hard to get the property back in order. We have been cutting down the over grown brush around the lake so our campers can fish along the banks. We finally had time to paint the shower rooms. Keeping the shower rooms sanitized everyday is a job all by its self. WE DO KEEP UP WITH SANITIZING OUR SHOWER TWICE EVERYDAY FOR COVID-19. We see several negative reviews and we are working very hard everyday to address every issue. Remember there is only two of us working 150 acres so bear with us. We always remind everyone that wants to come out and camp with us that we are located on top of a coal mine so there are times that our well water smells like sulfur, this we cannot control. Some people have said that we never answer the office phone. The phone are on from 8am - 8pm 7 days per week. If we do not answer the phone that is because we are somewhere on the property working. With 150 acres sometimes the cell phone signal is very week. So please leave a message and we will call back as soon as we have a good signal. If you want a park to look nice we cannot sit inside the office all day.We have 27 campsites that are full hook up. These sites are usually filled with travelling workers. Our primitive area is for weekend campers, we are working very hard at opening sites that have overgrown under brush, so hopefully 2021 will bring at least 8 new primitive site. So if your in need of a campsite give us a call. The property is very quiet. But keep in mind, this is a travelling workers campground so there really is not much for children to do except for hike and hunt for fossils or fish.As always travel freely but travel safe.
Nov 06, 2020 · David Wenglarz SrDave and Yulanda work so hard to ensure every camper has a great experience. We stayed for two years and had zero issues with management. If we are ever back in this area will definitely return to Tameling. Only issues were from other campers who weren’t conscientious of rules or others- (normal every campground issues) AND Anytime there were problems- Yulanda addressed them immediately. Love, love, love this place.
