Tana-See Campground Introduce
Welcome to Tana-See Campground, located at 112 Carson Springs Rd in Newport, Tennessee. For individuals searching under the category "RV Parks Near Me," Tana-See Campground offers a location in the Newport area with reported positive community aspects, but also significant concerns regarding management practices and the surrounding environment. Potential visitors should carefully consider the diverse experiences shared by previous guests to make an informed decision.
The environment of Tana-See Campground appears to have fostered a strong sense of community among some residents. One reviewer who stayed for approximately six months expressed that they "couldn't have asked for a better place to be," highlighting the friendliness of the people living there and the exceptional helpfulness of the office staff. This positive experience suggests a welcoming and supportive atmosphere within the campground. The subsequent edit to this review further reinforces this sentiment, specifically naming Dean, his wife, Melissa, and the maintenance gentleman and his family as "wonderful people" who went above and beyond to assist during a difficult time. The willingness of the owners to provide support, such as allowing short-term parking of a truck, speaks to a compassionate and community-oriented approach.
However, another review presents a starkly contrasting perspective on the environment and management of Tana-See Campground. This reviewer strongly advises against recommending the campground, citing issues with densely packed camping spots and constant noise from truck traffic due to the proximity of a truck shop across the street. This suggests that while the internal community might be positive for some, the external environment could be a significant drawback for others seeking a peaceful camping experience.
Regarding services and features, the positive review highlights the helpfulness of the office staff, indicating a willingness to assist residents and guests with their needs. The specific amenities offered at Tana-See Campground are not detailed in the provided reviews. Typically, RV campgrounds offer essential hookups such as water, electricity, and sewer, as well as common facilities like restrooms, showers, and potentially laundry. However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the management's financial practices. This reviewer, who initially planned a six-month stay for work, reported multiple unexpected rent increases within the first six weeks, escalating from $550 to $850. Furthermore, they alleged an attempt by the management to unjustly withhold their deposit and the addition of arbitrary miscellaneous fees to their bill. This experience suggests potential issues with transparency and fairness in the campground's financial dealings.
The contrasting experiences make it difficult to definitively describe the features of Tana-See Campground. While the positive review suggests a supportive community and helpful staff, the negative review points to potential overcrowding, noise pollution, and questionable billing practices. Prospective visitors will need to weigh these factors carefully based on their individual priorities and needs. If a strong sense of community and helpful management are paramount, Tana-See Campground might be appealing based on one reviewer's experience. However, if a quiet environment and transparent, consistent billing are top priorities, the concerns raised in the other review should be seriously considered.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided. The positive testimonial about the community and staff could serve as a form of organic promotion, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and helpfulness of the management. The fact that the owners responded kindly to the positive review further reinforces this positive image. However, the serious allegations of unfair financial practices and the negative description of the environment in the other review significantly temper any potential promotional value of the positive feedback. Potential visitors are advised to look beyond these anecdotal accounts and seek more comprehensive and objective information.
For those searching "RV Parks Near Me" and considering Tana-See Campground, it is crucial to approach with caution and conduct thorough due diligence. Contacting the campground directly at (423) 415-5000 or +1 423-415-5000 is essential to inquire about current rates, amenities, hookup availability, long-term stay policies, and any potential fees. It would also be prudent to ask specifically about the campground's proximity to the truck shop and potential noise levels. Furthermore, inquiring about their deposit and billing procedures and ensuring clear, written agreements are in place would be advisable given the negative financial experience reported by one reviewer. Visiting the campground in person to assess the density of the camping spots and the surrounding environment could also provide valuable insights.
In conclusion, Tana-See Campground in Newport, TN, presents a complex picture based on the limited available reviews. While some individuals have experienced a welcoming community and helpful management, others have reported significant issues with noise, overcrowding, and potentially unfair financial practices. Prospective visitors must carefully weigh these contrasting accounts and conduct thorough personal research to determine if Tana-See Campground meets their needs and expectations. The strong divergence in customer experiences underscores the importance of direct communication with the campground management and, if possible, a personal visit to assess the current conditions and environment.

Tana-See Campground Reviews
Our family stayed here for about 6 months and I couldn't have asked for a better place to be! We wouldn't have left but our 2 mo old passed away and it was very painful for my husband to be there. The people that live there are great and the people in the office go above and beyond to help. If I could I would come back in a heartbeat. It's a great place to be!EDIT: and that very kind response to my review shows you what amazing people own and run this campground. Dean, his wife (I'm so sorry I can't recall your name right now) and Melissa. Even the gentleman that does maintenance and his family. They are all wonderful people and I can't thank them enough. Dean even graciously allowed us to park our truck there short term while we get ourselves together.
Nov 29, 2024 · Jessica HaI strongly advise against recommending this campground. The camping spots are densely packed, and the proximity to a truck shop across the street results in constant truck traffic noise throughout the night. Initially, I had planned to stay here for over six months for work purposes, but after the first two weeks, the rent was increased from $550 to 650 to $750, and then again two weeks later to $850. Furthermore, the management attempted to unjustly withhold my deposit and added arbitrary miscellaneous fees to my bill. After only six weeks, I decided to leave. If you do choose to stay here, I recommend closely monitoring your bank account to prevent unauthorized charges. I had to clarify to the front desk staff that their actions were unlawful, and I would pursue legal action if I did not receive a full refund for my deposit and the additional charges. The staff member eventually agreed after my explanation.

Mar 02, 2025 · Karoline LindquistIf ya'll want fancy don't come here!! The bathrooms need a remodel!! The campground needs a clean up!! There's tiny houses and old camper trailers permanently parked!! Where some of the permanent campers are, the residents need to clean their spot!! The garage area needs to be cleaned!! Other then that the park is clean!! I like the fact that there's tiny houses and older campers in the park cause NOT everyone can afford newer campers!! Couldn't see the creek cause of the over grown weeds!! There's a pool, miniature golf, and a fishing tank!! Most of all there's peace and quiet!! There's a major highway by the campgrounds but ya'll can't hear the noise!! The people are friendly and helpful!! GREAT PLACE TO CAMP!!
Aug 23, 2024 · Edna Marie DonagheWe're 60' overall with our car trailer attached and their pull throughs are 65' so we didn't have to unhook, which is perfect for a one night stay. Easy in and out just off I40, but we didn't notice road noise. Hook-ups were all good. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. Didn't use any facilities. Saw people in the pool and it looked clean. Dog park was a disappointment, small run down square of dirt near the dumpsters that smelled from people leaving dog poo on the ground around the outside area of the park. Didn't find the dog wash station listed online and it wasn't shown on the park map. We would stay again.
