Toby's RV Resort Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the south-central Florida region, particularly near the charming town of Arcadia, Toby's RV Resort, located at 3550 FL-70, Arcadia, FL 34266, offers a potentially pleasant getaway. Based on recent customer reviews, the resort has several appealing features, including a nice pool area and friendly neighbors, making it a consideration for both local quick getaways and seasonal travelers. However, potential visitors should also be aware of some reported drawbacks, such as water odor issues and limited amenities.
The environment of Toby's RV Resort is generally described as "pretty nice." The grounds are reported to be "well kept," indicating that the management maintains the landscaping to a satisfactory standard. One of the notable features is the "nice caged pool," which provides a comfortable and protected swimming environment, shielded from insects and the elements. Additionally, the resort offers a "hot tub," providing another option for relaxation. For those interested in recreational activities, there is a "shuffle board" court available. A unique feature mentioned is a "pier into a retention pond," offering potential opportunities for fishing or simply enjoying the waterfront view. The presence of a building near the pool with a "fountain coming out of the top with flowing water" suggests an attempt to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the pool area, although its primary function (possibly water pump or filtration) is not explicitly stated.
The social atmosphere at Toby's RV Resort appears to be positive, with reviewers noting that "The neighbors were great, too." This friendly community vibe can significantly enhance the overall experience, especially for those looking to connect with fellow travelers or long-term residents. The resort also seems to have a significant number of "owned lots and full timers," indicating a stable and established community within the park. These residents are reported to be "all prepared for strong weather," although one reviewer expressed hesitation about staying during a hurricane, which is a prudent consideration for any location in Florida.
Despite the positive aspects, a significant concern raised by a reviewer is the "horrible" smell of the water. This issue reportedly affected various activities, with laundry causing clothes to smell and showers producing steam with an odor likened to "cow dung." The cause of this water issue (well water, city water, or seasonal factors) is unclear, but it is a significant drawback that potential visitors should be aware of and perhaps inquire about with the management. The reviewer expressed hope that this problem would be resolved.
In terms of amenities, beyond the caged pool, hot tub, and shuffleboard, the information is somewhat limited. One reviewer noted that they "could only find 3 showers," which might be insufficient during peak occupancy and could lead to wait times. Another practical consideration is that "The office is unattended on the weekend," which could pose challenges for check-in, assistance, or emergencies during those times. However, a positive point for those relying on cellular communication is that the resort reportedly has "great cell/data service with Verizon."
The physical condition of the RV sites also receives mixed feedback. While the "grass is well kept," the "concrete pads are pretty beat up and uneven." Additionally, the "pull through are packed tightly together," which might be a concern for RVers who prefer more spacious sites and easier maneuverability. This information is important for those with larger rigs or those who value privacy and space between sites.
The location of Toby's RV Resort is described as being "like in the middle of no where south central Florida," although it is noted to be "quite close to Arcadia for shopping runs." This suggests a somewhat rural setting, which might appeal to those seeking peace and quiet away from more bustling areas, while still offering convenient access to essential amenities in Arcadia. The town of Arcadia itself is described by one reviewer as a "little town" that they "love," indicating it might be a worthwhile place to explore for those staying at the resort.
One reviewer offered a balanced perspective, stating, "I can recommend Toby’s for a quick get away for locals and a nice spot to stay for seasonal travelers," and concluded with "We will visit Toby’s RV resort again." This suggests that despite the noted issues, the overall experience can be positive, particularly for short-term stays. However, the water odor issue would likely be a significant factor for longer stays.
As no specific promotional information is included in the reviews, potential visitors should contact Toby's RV Resort directly at (863) 494-1744 or +1 863-494-1744 to inquire about current rates, availability, and any special offers. It would also be prudent to ask about the water situation and whether any measures have been taken to address the odor. Inquiring about the number of showers and the weekend office hours would also be beneficial for planning a stay.
In conclusion, Toby's RV Resort in Arcadia, FL, offers a generally pleasant environment with a caged pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, and friendly neighbors. Its location provides a quieter setting with reasonable proximity to the amenities of Arcadia. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with water odor, the limited number of showers, the unattended office on weekends, and the condition and spacing of the RV sites. Despite these drawbacks, the positive experiences of some reviewers, particularly for short getaways and seasonal travel, suggest that Toby's RV Resort could be a viable option for those seeking "RV parks near me" in the Arcadia area, provided they are comfortable with the noted limitations or if the water issue has been resolved.

Toby's RV Resort Reviews
We love the little town of Arcadia. The resort is pretty nice. The pool is screened in, and the club house seems pretty well maintained. The neighbors were great, too. The bad thing.....The water here smells horrible. That's pretty much the only issue. Our clothes smelled after doing laundry, and when we showered, the steam smelled a bit like cow dung. Time of year? Well water? City water? I'm not sure, but I hope it gets fixed. They do have a building near the pool with a fountain coming out of the top with flowing water. I'm not sure what it is for, but I imagine it's some sort of water pump or filtration thing.

Jan 26, 2025 · Jason OlsonVisited Toby’s Resort once again and notice a lot of great changes to the park. The amenities are clean and renovated making our stay enjoyable. The new management have made a huge difference to the park and they are very kind and always willing to help. Good job to the new management team, keep it up!
Jan 29, 2025 · AdyNice well kept campground. Nice screen covered pool. RV sites are long and wide. However, pulling a RV fifth-wheel was very tight going around corners. Almost ran over a stop sign. And there is very little to do in town. Poor T-Mobile Service at night.
Feb 14, 2025 · Chris PoulouinWe stayed in our rv. Nice place to stay only complaint is the hot tub closes to soon.
