Tonkawa Falls RV Park Introduce
For local users in Central Texas seeking "RV parks near me," Tonkawa Falls RV Park, located at 8540 5th St in Crawford, TX 76638, USA, presents a unique option characterized by its natural beauty and a strong sense of community among its long-term residents. Based on recent customer reviews, this park offers a blend of appealing aspects and areas that may require consideration for potential visitors.
One long-term resident, who moved their RV from Lake Waco, expressed a strong affinity for Tonkawa Falls RV Park, stating, "I love it." They highlighted the enjoyable atmosphere during the weekdays when the park is less crowded, noting that it was particularly pleasant before school was out. This suggests that the park's ambiance can vary depending on the time of year and the influx of short-term visitors. The reviewer also emphasized the friendly nature of the long-term residents, mentioning that "They are very friendly and help each other with whatever you need," fostering a supportive community environment. This sense of camaraderie can be a significant draw for those seeking a more communal living experience in an RV park.
Furthermore, the long-term resident appreciated the visible presence of local authorities and maintenance, noting that "The police officers and city workers come through daily and keep it well mowed." This indicates a level of security and upkeep of the grounds, contributing to a more pleasant and potentially safer environment. The review also touches on the shared responsibility for cleanliness, stating, "Its up to residents to keep our laundry and showers cleaned and most all of us do," suggesting a degree of community involvement in maintaining common areas. While the reviewer found some RV rules "a bit strict," they acknowledged that it contributes to the overall harmonious living environment among the long-term residents.
However, another reviewer offers a different perspective, particularly regarding the park's infrastructure. They pointed out that "The lots are not clearly marked nor paved" and that "The hookups are in disrepair and need to be refurbished." These are significant considerations for RV travelers, as clearly defined and well-maintained sites and reliable utility hookups (water, electricity, sewer) are essential for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. The lack of clear markings could lead to confusion upon arrival and potential issues with site boundaries, while dilapidated hookups could result in inconvenience or even safety concerns.
Despite these infrastructure concerns, the second reviewer acknowledged the park's natural charm, describing it as "rusticly beautiful as it is still in its natural state." This suggests that Tonkawa Falls RV Park offers an environment that appeals to those who appreciate a more natural and less developed setting. The presence of "many full-time campers residing here" who "keep their lots tidy" further reinforces the sense of community observed by the first reviewer and indicates a level of pride and care among the long-term residents for their individual spaces.
The second reviewer concluded that the park "is definitely a park that is good for one or two nights if passing through Crawford and needing a place to stay," while also noting that it is "Still a beautiful part of Texas." This suggests that while the park may have its drawbacks in terms of infrastructure, its natural beauty and the welcoming atmosphere among long-term residents make it a viable option for short overnight stays for those traveling through the area.

Tonkawa Falls RV Park Reviews
I moved my RV here from Lake Waco and I love it. I have been living here about 2 months and i love it during the week when its not over crowded and before school was out it was better. I think that most of the people in the RVs i have met are like me they plan to stay for a long time. They are very friendly and help each other with whatever you need. The police officiers and city workers come through daily and keep it well mowed . Its up to residents to keep our laundry and showers cleaned and most all of us do. I thought some RV rules were a bit strict but its fine cause we all get along well here and if the outsiders that come to swim on weekends cared like we do it would never have trash left out by the water. I plan to stay a long time like most others here.

Still a beautiful part of Texas. Please clearly mark the lots and get the hookups renovated.
Jul 21, 2024 · Sandy PetersPerfect little swimming hole. Water was low today so no cliff jumping but that didn't stop several families from enjoying the beautiful day and water.
Jul 25, 2019 · ashley staggThis camp lacks attention to detail and cleanliness. The overall park was beautiful besides the fact of frequent bad storms and a terrible mosquito infestation. Thankfully, I was just a visitor of a family member and was only there a few hours.
Jun 03, 2024 · Sharon HeardIt was a small place and the water was not that inviting.
