Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Grand Rivers, Kentucky area, particularly as a convenient stopover or a base for exploring the renowned Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area? Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground, located at 831 Vulcan Rd, Grand Rivers, KY 42045, USA, presents itself as a potentially excellent option, lauded for its hospitality and strategic location, even if it's described as having no on-site amenities.
One of the most striking aspects highlighted in the customer reviews is the exceptional hospitality offered at Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground. One traveler, whose journey from Florida was impacted by Hurricane Ian, specifically praised the park for holding their spot for two days beyond their original booking. This act of consideration demonstrates a commitment to customer service and understanding, suggesting that the management is accommodating and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The reviewer further described the people as "great hosts" with an "excellent business model" and expressed their intention to make this an annual stop on their travels, enthusiastically recommending others to book without hesitation.
Convenience is another significant advantage of Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground. Its location is described as "very convenient for travelers," making it an ideal stop for those passing through the region. Additionally, it's noted to be "very close to the amazing Tween the Lakes State Park" (presumably a local reference to the Land Between the Lakes area) and "convenient to town if needed." This proximity allows easy access to the natural beauty and recreational activities of the Land Between the Lakes, as well as the services and conveniences offered in Grand Rivers.
In terms of the physical attributes of the park, reviewers have noted its cleanliness and the provision of "large pull thru spaces and cement pads." Pull-thru sites are highly valued by RVers as they simplify the process of parking and departing, especially for larger rigs. The presence of cement pads suggests a stable and relatively clean parking surface. However, one reviewer did advise having leveling blocks on hand, as "the pads aren’t level." While this is a minor inconvenience, it's a practical tip for ensuring a comfortable and functional setup.
It is crucial to acknowledge the significant point made by one reviewer: "There are NO amenities." They elaborated by stating, "This place is basically a parking lot behind a gas station." While this might sound unappealing at first glance, the reviewer also highlighted the park's redeeming qualities. Despite the lack of on-site amenities typically found in more developed campgrounds (such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or recreational areas within the park itself), Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground offers other compelling benefits.
One such benefit is its immediate adjacency to a city park that features a "GREAT walking trail." This provides an opportunity for outdoor recreation right outside the RV park. However, a word of caution was given to "stay on the pavement unless you want to be tick bombed," indicating the potential presence of ticks off the maintained trail. This highlights the natural environment surrounding the park.
Despite the absence of on-site amenities, the reviewer concluded that Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground "is a good place to stay." They specifically cited its quiet atmosphere and its prime location near the Land Between the Lakes and the town of Grand Rivers. These factors appear to outweigh the lack of internal amenities for many travelers who prioritize convenience, cleanliness, and access to the surrounding area's attractions.
The positive interactions with the management also contribute to the park's appeal. The manager is described as "very nice," and the owners are reported to be "frequently on site," suggesting attentive and engaged ownership. This can contribute to a well-maintained and smoothly run operation, further enhancing the guest experience.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Grand Rivers area, Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground offers a straightforward and convenient option. Its large, clean pull-thru sites with cement pads provide a comfortable parking base. While it lacks on-site amenities, its prime location offers easy access to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, renowned for its natural beauty, wildlife, and recreational activities, including hiking, boating, fishing, and more. Additionally, its proximity to the town of Grand Rivers provides access to local services, dining, and attractions.
The exceptional hospitality reported by guests suggests a welcoming and accommodating environment. The willingness of the management to go above and beyond for their customers is a significant draw. For travelers prioritizing a clean, quiet, and conveniently located base for exploring the region, Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground appears to be a strong contender, even without the traditional campground amenities.
In conclusion, Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground offers a no-frills but highly convenient and hospitable experience for RV travelers in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Its large pull-thru sites, cleanliness, and strategic location near the Land Between the Lakes and the town make it a desirable option. While it doesn't offer on-site amenities, its proximity to a great walking trail and the natural attractions of the area provide ample opportunities for recreation. The positive feedback regarding the management and their customer service further enhances its appeal. Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground Reviews
Hospitality at its finest, with a very convenient location for travelers. They held our spot 2 days after our original booking due to hurricane Ian (we were coming from Florida). Great people with an excellent business model. We will definitely make this an annual stop on our way to/from Colorado. Thank you for being such great hosts! Do not hesitate to book at Tween Lakes RV Park.
Oct 03, 2022 · The Hustle LifeThis place was clean, large pull thru spaces and cement pads. Be sure to have leveling blocks if needed because the pads aren’t level, but the park is clean and well kept. There are NO amenities. This place is basically a parking lot behind a gas station, but it backs up to a city park that has a GREAT walking trail. Just stay on the pavement unless you want to be tick bombed. In spite of the lack of amenities this is a good place to stay. It’s quiet and very close to the amazing Tween the Lakes State Park and convenient to town if needed. The manager is very nice and the owners are frequently on site.
Oct 11, 2019 · Bobbie RobertsonWe found this campground on Passort America while we were on our way to Chattanooga. Not only was it a good value; Danielle (one of the owners) was probably one of the nicest people I've ever encountered at any campground. She got all of our info and told us which site we'd be in. We didn't have to give a credit card to hold the spot and when we got there, our reserve tag was on the site (site 15). She emailed me a site map so we'd know where to go. When she said it was right off the highway and behind the Marathon Station and Motel 6, I started to wonder. But she also said they were in a valley to where you couldn't hear highway noise. We finally got there and it was nice. Literally right off the highway. We took the first right after the Marathon Station and drove down into the campground (which is the only thing down the road). So truly, you could barely see the sign from the Marathon. From my window I can see the motel 6 at the top of the hill (and it looks like a nice one). It's a quaint little campground, only about 30 sites. The owners want to build a bath house and laundry facility. The roads are gravel but the sites are all concrete with a gravel approach pad. There is a dump station as well as firepits and picnic tables at most sites. But, I liked the fact that they are right next to the Livingston Trail system. The gate was closed but my dog and I could get thru/under it. Did I mention it was fall, so the leaves were beautiful. All in all this was a great little place to spend the night. It was quiet and felt very safe to us. If I had things to do in the area, I would definitely stay here for the value. We were in a 43 foot motor home with a tow vehicle and didn't have to unhook.
Oct 30, 2018 · Wendy WebbConcrete pads, gravel drives, full hookups, picnic tables, fire pits. Beware of the road noise for a good night's sleep, but will be blocked out if you have earplugs! Usually quiet neighbors and clean campsites. Walking, biking trails right behind campground. This is close for visits to Patti's Settlement area, Blarkley Lake. Reasonably priced.
Apr 26, 2021 · Joy SeekerGreat find. Full hook up, concrete pads, easy to get to. Can hear some road noise when outside of your unit but not bad considering how close this park is to the interstate. You can still have a normal conversation. A few resident campers but all are maintained well. Really nice bike and walking trail at the bottom of the street. We were here several nights. Will be back as we travel this stretch of hwy often.
