Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park) Introduce
Welcome to Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park, formerly known as ABC RV Park, located at 271 Kitty Hawk Rd in Universal City, Texas. For those searching within the "RV parks near me" category in the Universal City area, this park offers a community-oriented living environment with both RV spaces and mobile home options. You can reach the park management for inquiries at (210) 659-8205 or +1 210-659-8205.
Based on recent customer feedback available online, Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park presents a somewhat contrasting experience for its residents. One reviewer who enjoyed living there for a few months described it as a "great neighborhood" with "extremely well kept" grounds. They highlighted a strong sense of community among the mostly long-term residents, noting that "Everyone is nice and friendly and keep quite." This paints a picture of a pleasant and welcoming environment during the day, fostering a sense of belonging and neighborly interaction.
The same positive review also emphasized the park's convenient location, stating that it is "close to everything." While specific details about nearby amenities were not provided, this suggests that residents benefit from easy access to local shops, services, and attractions in the Universal City area. The reviewer concluded that, "as long as the Sun is shining is a great RV community."
However, this positive experience was significantly overshadowed by a major concern raised by the same reviewer: "there seemed to be a roach infestation at night." They described having to "spray EVERYTHING outside in an effort to keep them off our pad," indicating a pervasive issue that affected their daily living. While they speculated about the cause (possibly related to the Texan climate or hot weather), the presence of a roach infestation is a serious concern for hygiene and comfort.
Adding to these concerns, another reviewer who moved into the park in July 2014 reported a negative experience with the management after an initial positive impression. They stated that the "Management seemed friendly at first but soon changed" and that the assistant manager, Dennis, was effectively running the place, with the manager having already resigned at the time of their review. This suggests potential instability or issues within the park's management structure.
Most alarmingly, this second reviewer corroborated the issue of pest infestation, describing the place as "crawling with Cockroaches." They recounted Assistant Manager Dennis stating, "WE ARENOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COCKROACHES." The reviewer further detailed the extent of the problem, stating that the roaches were "all in the yards crawling over grills and picknic tables by the hundreds at night." This paints a disturbing picture of the outdoor environment, potentially impacting residents' ability to enjoy their outdoor spaces and posing significant hygiene concerns.
Considering these two reviews, Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park) offers a community-oriented environment with well-maintained grounds and a convenient location, fostering a sense of belonging among its residents. However, this positive aspect is severely undermined by a reported significant roach infestation that appears to be a persistent and unaddressed issue according to at least two separate accounts. Additionally, there are concerns raised about the management and their responsiveness to this problem.
To provide a more structured overview based on the available information:
- Community Atmosphere: Residents describe a friendly and quiet neighborhood with a sense of community, particularly among long-term residents.
- Well-Kept Grounds: The park is noted for having extremely well-maintained outdoor areas.
- Convenient Location: Situated close to various amenities in Universal City.
- Roach Infestation: A significant issue reported by multiple residents, particularly at night, affecting outdoor areas.
- Management Concerns: One reviewer reported a change in management friendliness and a lack of responsibility taken for the pest issue.
- Long-Term Residents: The park appears to have a significant number of long-term residents, contributing to the community feel.
- Quiet Environment: Generally reported as a quiet place during the day.
Given the serious nature of the reported roach infestation and the concerns raised about the management's response, local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Universal City should approach Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park) with significant caution. While the sense of community and well-maintained grounds are attractive features, the potential health and comfort issues associated with a pest infestation cannot be ignored.
It would be highly advisable for potential residents to seek further information and more recent reviews from various sources to ascertain the current status of the park and whether the pest issue has been addressed. Contacting the park management directly to inquire about their pest control measures and overall management practices is also crucial. A personal visit to the park, if possible, might allow for a firsthand assessment of the environment, although the roach issue is reportedly more prevalent at night.
Due to the serious and recurring nature of the negative feedback regarding the roach infestation, it is impossible to provide a purely positive introduction to Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park). While some residents have enjoyed the community and location, the significant pest problem and reported management issues are critical factors that potential residents must consider.
In conclusion, Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park) in Universal City, TX, offers a community-oriented living environment with well-kept grounds and a convenient location. However, multiple reports of a significant roach infestation and concerns about the management's response to this issue present serious drawbacks. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh these factors and conduct thorough due diligence before considering this park for their RV or mobile home living needs.

Universal City RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly ABC RV Park) Reviews
Love this place, living here for a few months was such a joy. Great neighborhood, grounds are extremely well kept, neighbors are mostly there for the long haul and have a real sense of community. Everyone is nice and friendly and keep quite. Only problem was there seemed to be a roach infestation at night, and we had to spray EVERYTHING outside in an effort to keep them off our pad (not sure if is a Texan thing, or hot weather thing or what?) But besides this, and as long as the Sun is shining is a great RV community close to everything.
