Jacksonville, NC, is a vibrant city, notably home to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, which contributes to a diverse and often transient population, including military personnel and their families. - RV Sites: The campground offers sites for RVs, though the exact number and types (e.g., pull-through vs. back-in, 30/50 amp) are not explicitly detailed in public information. However, the ability to accommodate "rigs" suggests suitability for various RV sizes. It's reasonable to expect full hookups (water, sewer, electric) for a park catering to stays of "2 weeks" or longer, as mentioned in reviews.
- Management Hospitality: A standout feature highlighted by customer reviews is the exceptional hospitality of the management. One reviewer praised a "nice gentleman" who "met us and showed us where to park our rig in the dark" after a late arrival, and who "stopped by in the morning to see if we needed anything." This level of personal attention and care creates a very welcoming and supportive environment for guests.
- Common Hall: The presence of a "common hall" for gatherings, as mentioned by a reviewer who attended a birthday party there, is a significant amenity. This hall provides a dedicated space for community events, resident gatherings, and private functions, fostering a sense of community among guests.

- Cookout/Picnic Area: The availability of a designated area for cooking out and having picnics further enhances the outdoor living experience and promotes social interaction among residents.
- Long-Term Stays: The campground appears to cater to long-term or extended stays, as evidenced by a review mentioning a "2-week visit" and a return for an event. This indicates that the park is well-suited for individuals or families needing a stable base in the Jacksonville area, perhaps due to military assignments or work.
The W.R. Willis RV Campground fosters a friendly and welcoming community atmosphere. The emphasis on "nice people" and the manager's personalized attention contribute significantly to this positive environment. For long-term residents, this can translate into a sense of belonging and neighborly camaraderie. The common hall and potential outdoor amenities like a fishing pond and picnic area facilitate social interaction and shared experiences among guests.
The quiet nature of the park suggests a more relaxed lifestyle, appealing to those who prefer a peaceful setting over a bustling, activity-filled resort. It could be particularly appealing to military families seeking a calm home base near Camp Lejeune, or retirees looking for a serene place to settle.

W.R. Willis RV Campground Reviews
We got in late, called ahead and we were met and the nice gentleman showed us where to park our rig in the dark. He also stopped by in the morning to see if we needed anything, I am expecting to enjoy the 2 weeks we are here. We really enjoyed our 2 week visit and we just returned for a birthday party that was held in the common hall, very nice place with nice people.
Dec 19, 2021 · Ada Rebecca SmithLove it. So quiet.
Jun 28, 2023 · Debra SutphinIt is very peaceful here, as the Campground is set way back off the road, and the other RVers are pleasant. The on-site manager is an agreeable fellow and very accommodating, as are the office staff that we met over the phone while making our reservations. The monthly RV rate is very reasonable and we were very happy/pleased to get a spot here after being on the waiting list for several weeks.FYI... There is a Facebook page for this Campground and it is worth checking out. There is currently a waiting list to get a site here and be aware that a background check ($) is required. There is a good-sized patio/pad at each RV site, but no picnic tables are provided at the sites. There is a nice Clubhouse/Pavilion area that does have ample picnic tables and the Lake is right alongside that Clubhouse/Pavilion area.
