Holiday City MHC

553 Corbin St, Jacksonville, NC 28546, USA

3.0
Horrible service to longtime renters and owners. I've lived in holiday city my entire 22 years of living besides what time I've spent active duty. Over the years, the management has gotten worse and worse. Lawn care is atrocious (see attached pictures) and when contacting the office about the damage they dont respond. There are times where 1 or 2 trailers are sitting in the middle of Francis and Kaye street (the main traveling roads in the community), and the more trailers they add, the less parking we get. There is no specified parking for each resident which would usually be fine, but spaces between trailers are so slim to none, depending on your neighbor there is no available parking in front of your own home causing you to have to park far away and walk to your house. This makes both me and my wife uncomfortable and it doesn't seem safe in the slightest considering the environment. There has been some inconveniences that are worth mentioning such as not having water because our pool was being refilled, trash not being picked up because your neighbors parked to close to your can and the trash, cops asking to see my cameras essentially quarterly due to activity being investigated. This place is just ridiculous to live in. If I didn't think my trailer would be destroyed if I moved it, I would have already left.UPDATE: Just recieved word that if my trash is too close to my car, they won't pick it up. If it's not at least 6 feet from the road, it won't be picked up. If you've seen the width of the street, there is barely If any room for two lanes of traffic If they want people to drive with those conditions, not including the mobile homes THEY leave in the street for up to a week. - Miles Tanner (enemystalker77)

Holiday City MHC Introduce

For local individuals exploring long-term residential options for their mobile homes under the category "RV Parks Near Me," Holiday City MHC, located at 553 Corbin St, Jacksonville, NC 28546, warrants careful consideration based on recent resident feedback available online. While the park may have served as a long-term residence for some, recent reviews paint a concerning picture regarding management, maintenance, and the overall living environment.

One detailed review comes from an individual who has lived in Holiday City for 22 years, excluding time spent on active duty. This long-term perspective provides a historical context, noting a significant decline in management quality over the years. The reviewer explicitly states that the management has "gotten worse and worse," which is a critical assessment for prospective residents to consider. Poor management can impact various aspects of community living, from maintenance responsiveness to the enforcement of rules and the overall atmosphere.

The same long-term resident highlights "atrocious" lawn care, even referencing attached pictures as evidence. Neglected landscaping can detract from the aesthetic appeal of the community and potentially indicate a broader lack of attention to maintenance. The reviewer also mentions a lack of response from the office when contacted about the damage, suggesting potential issues with communication and accountability from the management.

Parking appears to be a significant and growing problem within Holiday City MHC. The reviewer notes instances of trailers being left in the middle of the main traveling roads within the community (Francis and Kaye streets) for extended periods. This not only obstructs traffic flow but also raises safety concerns. Furthermore, as more trailers are added to the community, the parking situation for existing residents worsens. The lack of specified parking per resident, which might typically be manageable, is exacerbated by the extremely limited space between trailers. This often results in residents being unable to find parking near their own homes, forcing them to park far away and walk, which the reviewer and their wife find uncomfortable and unsafe.

Beyond parking and lawn care, the long-term resident mentions several other inconveniences that have impacted their living experience. These include instances of not having water due to the community pool being refilled, indicating potential disruptions to essential services. Trash pickup has also been problematic, reportedly due to neighbors parking too close to trash cans, preventing collection. Additionally, the reviewer notes frequent visits from law enforcement ("essentially quarterly") asking to see their security camera footage due to ongoing investigations within the community. This raises questions about the overall safety and security environment within Holiday City MHC.

The reviewer's overall assessment is stark: "This place is just ridiculous to live in." The fact that they have not moved is attributed to the fear that their trailer would be destroyed during the process, highlighting a significant level of dissatisfaction and a feeling of being trapped by circumstance.

An update from the same reviewer further details issues with trash pickup regulations. They report being informed that trash will not be collected if it is too close to a vehicle or not at least six feet from the road. Given the narrowness of the streets, the reviewer expresses concern about the feasibility of complying with these rules while still allowing for two lanes of traffic, especially considering the mobile homes that management themselves reportedly leave in the street for up to a week. This paints a picture of potentially unreasonable and poorly communicated regulations that negatively impact residents' daily lives.

Another, separate review focuses on the financial aspect of living in Holiday City MHC, stating that "the price of rent has gotten outrageous." This resident attributes the significant rent increase (over $200) to new owners and predicts that this will lead to a substantial number of people leaving the community. A sudden and substantial increase in rent can create significant financial strain for residents, especially those on fixed incomes, and can indeed lead to a high turnover rate within a mobile home park.

Considering these recent reviews, prospective residents looking under "RV Parks Near Me" for a place to park their mobile home should be aware of the potential challenges reported by current and long-term residents of Holiday City MHC. These include declining management quality, poor lawn care, significant parking issues due to overcrowding and lack of designated spaces, inconveniences related to water and trash services, potential safety concerns indicated by frequent police activity, and substantial rent increases under new ownership.

The feedback suggests that while Holiday City MHC may have been a viable long-term residence for some, the current environment, as perceived by these reviewers, is far from ideal. The reported lack of responsiveness from management, coupled with maintenance issues, parking problems, and rising costs, paints a concerning picture for anyone considering moving into the community. It is crucial for potential residents to weigh these negative experiences heavily when making their decision and to conduct thorough due diligence, including visiting the property, speaking with current residents (if possible), and carefully reviewing all lease terms and conditions before committing to residency at Holiday City MHC.

In conclusion, based on the available online reviews, Holiday City MHC in Jacksonville, NC, appears to be facing significant challenges related to management, maintenance, parking, safety, and affordability. Local users searching under "RV Parks Near Me" for a mobile home park should carefully consider these reported issues and exercise caution before deciding to reside in this community. The negative feedback from long-term residents, in particular, suggests a need for significant improvements in the park's management and operational practices to ensure a satisfactory living environment for its residents.
