Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park Introduce
Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park, located at 1138 State Rd 1413, Midway Park, NC 28544, is a mobile home park that falls under the 'RV Parks Near Me' platform category, catering to individuals and families seeking long-term residential solutions in the Midway Park area. While the name suggests an RV park component, information primarily points to its function as a mobile home community. For those considering a stay or permanent residence, it's essential to have a comprehensive understanding of what this community offers, based on publicly available details and customer experiences.
The environment of Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park, as described by residents and visitors, presents a mixed picture, suggesting a community that has faced, or is currently facing, significant challenges in upkeep and maintenance. One review notes the park is situated "at the back of my property," indicating its proximity to residential areas. However, this proximity has also led to concerns about "Trash comes over my fence along with other stuff," suggesting issues with waste management within the park that can impact surrounding properties.
More critically, direct observations from visitors paint a stark picture of the internal environment. One reviewer explicitly states, "the place looks worse than a warzone!" and mentions that "Every other trailer is literally abandoned." This suggests a high vacancy rate or a significant number of dilapidated units, which can detract from the overall appearance and sense of community. The infrastructure within the park also appears to be a point of concern; it is described as "there isn't even technically a road, its just gravel filled with holes." This indicates a lack of paved roads, leading to potential issues with dust, potholes, and general accessibility, particularly in adverse weather conditions. The advice not to "go to the far back" further suggests areas within the park that are in a particularly poor state or are unsafe. These descriptions point to an environment that may require considerable improvement to meet standard living expectations.
While the geographical location in Midway Park, NC, places it within Onslow County, an area known for its proximity to military installations like Camp Lejeune and the North Carolina coast, the internal conditions of Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park appear to overshadow any potential benefits of its regional setting. The overall impression from customer feedback is that the physical environment of the park is in a state of disrepair, which could significantly impact the quality of life for its residents.
Information regarding specific services and features within Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park is somewhat limited in public reviews, but some key aspects can be inferred. The park primarily offers lots for mobile homes, as indicated by its name. According to more detailed property listings, the park has "109 Total Spaces." Essential utilities for mobile home living, such as "City Trash billed to resident," "City Water and Sewer," and "Water: sub-metered," are generally available. This suggests that residents are responsible for their individual utility consumption, which is a common practice in mobile home communities. The presence of a "Street Type: Paved" in some official descriptions contradicts the customer review about gravel roads, suggesting that either there are different sections of the park with varying road conditions or improvements are needed. The park also specifies "No Age Restrictions," indicating it is a family-friendly community.
A notable, albeit unusual, feature mentioned by a reviewer is the presence of "a man who literally walks up and down the road all day called 'community watch'." This individual "lives right at the start of the road and has ALUMINUM FOIL COVERING EVERY WINDOW!!??" While intended perhaps as a form of security or oversight, the description of this individual's living situation and constant presence raises questions about the nature and effectiveness of this "community watch" and could be perceived as unsettling by potential residents.
Beyond these basic provisions, there is no mention of communal amenities such as clubhouses, laundry facilities, playgrounds, or recreational areas that are common in many well-maintained mobile home or RV parks. The focus of the available information and reviews is primarily on the living conditions of the individual lots and the general state of the park's infrastructure. It has also been noted that there are "43 Park owned homes of which 31 are in need of demolishment creating a value add opportunity," suggesting that a significant portion of the existing mobile homes are uninhabitable or require extensive renovation. The "Lot Rent: $260 monthly" is noted, which could be a factor for affordability, but this must be weighed against the reported conditions.
Given the descriptions, Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park appears to target individuals and families seeking extremely affordable housing options in the Midway Park area, potentially those who are "down on his luck currently," as one reviewer put it. Under the 'RV Parks Near Me' category, it might appeal to those looking for a very basic, no-frills, long-term parking solution for their mobile home rather than a typical RV vacation spot with amenities. Its proximity to "Hwy 24" and being "within 1 mile of shopping and a local grocery store within walking distance" are mentioned as advantages in some listings, as well as being "less than four miles from Camp Lejeune Marine Corps base." This suggests it could be an option for military personnel or those working in the surrounding areas looking for very low-cost housing.
However, any promotional efforts would need to be carefully managed to align with the reality of the park's current state. The reviews indicate that the primary selling point might be the low cost of living, with residents potentially trading extensive amenities and well-maintained infrastructure for affordability. For potential residents, especially those using the 'RV Parks Near Me' search, it's critical to emphasize the park's primitive nature and the challenges noted by current and former visitors. The phone number (800) 296-3457 or +1 800-296-3457 is provided for inquiries, but it would be advisable for anyone considering this location to "drive through the place first," as one reviewer strongly recommends, to assess the conditions firsthand before committing. Transparency about the existing issues, such as the condition of the roads, the presence of abandoned units, and the general upkeep, would be crucial for setting realistic expectations for prospective tenants or RV owners looking for a long-term spot.
In summary, Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park presents itself as a mobile home community offering very basic and affordable living spaces. Its environment, as conveyed through customer reviews, suggests a need for significant infrastructure and aesthetic improvements. While it may cater to a specific demographic seeking minimal cost housing, prospective residents should conduct thorough on-site evaluations to ensure it aligns with their living expectations and needs.

Collins Estates MHP- Midway Park Reviews
Is at the back of my property. Trash comes over my fence along with other stuff. At least people don't jump my fence anymore
Jan 12, 2025 · Cheryl FarmerI don't live here, but I visit a friend who is down on his luck currently. Its actually amazing you guys have the audacity to complain about grass not being cut properly, or the amount of tenants at a place, when the place looks worse than a warzone! Every other trailer is literally abandoned, there isn't even technically a road, its just gravel filled with holes.(and don't go to the far back) and there's a man who literally walks up and down the road all day called "community watch". He lives right at the start of the road and has ALUMINUM FOIL COVERING EVERY WINDOW!!?? If you need a a place to live at least drive through the place first, its honestly disheartening.
Sep 22, 2020 · Evan ThomasSense they sold the place its went downhill dramatically. A lot of torn up trailers it's not taken care of it doesn't look like new management's doing anything.
Jun 25, 2020 · Robin Lepird -MantleCrappy streets, no amenities, unless you count the potholes that are big enough to bathe a small child in. ( The owners might want to pave the roads, afterwards, I will change my review)
Mar 21, 2017 · ChristineThis place needs to be demolished. Its shameful they can get away with such a mess.
