Weeks Island RV Park Introduce
For local users and travelers searching for "RV parks near me" in the New Iberia, Louisiana area, Weeks Island RV Park, located at 3004 Weeks Island Rd, New Iberia, LA 70560, USA, presents a potential option. Inquiries can be made by calling (337) 365-9865 or +1 337-365-9865. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Weeks Island RV Park based on its location and available customer feedback.
Weeks Island RV Park is situated on Weeks Island Road, a location that places it approximately 6 miles from the renowned Tabasco Plant on Avery Island and about 3 miles from the city of New Iberia. This proximity to local attractions and amenities could be a draw for travelers interested in exploring the region. New Iberia itself offers a rich history and culture, being part of Louisiana's Cajun Country.
According to one customer review, Weeks Island RV Park is described as a "great little stop over campground for travelers." This suggests that the park is well-suited for those who are passing through the area and need a place to stay overnight or for a short duration. The reviewer notes that the "sites are clean, spacious, and level, and not crowded," which are significant advantages for RVers looking for comfortable and easy-to-access parking.
The park offers "full hookups," indicating that it provides connections for electricity, water, and sewage, which are essential for the convenience of RV travelers. The reviewer also mentions a "great price," although it's important to note the payment policy: "bring cash or check-no credit cards accepted." This cash or check-only policy is a crucial piece of information for potential guests to be aware of.
The review also indicates that Weeks Island RV Park is "in process of upgrading everything," suggesting that the facilities might be undergoing improvements, which could enhance the overall guest experience in the future. The owner is described as "very nice," which can contribute to a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
However, another review presents a more critical perspective, highlighting several potential drawbacks. Firstly, the review points out a discrepancy regarding advertised amenities, stating, "First on their flyer it says there is a pool there’s not." This misinformation could be disappointing for guests who specifically chose the park based on the expectation of having a pool.
The cash-only payment policy is mentioned again, with the reviewer expressing a personal concern about the reason behind it. While this is a subjective opinion, the lack of credit card acceptance might be inconvenient for some travelers.
Concerns are also raised about the professionalism of the manager, with the reviewer mentioning excessive personal talk. This aspect could impact the overall guest experience depending on individual preferences for interaction with park staff.
The physical condition of some facilities is also criticized. The reviewer notes that "the shower room and place they claim you can rent for parties, the building is in bad shape," and offers to include photos as evidence. This suggests that the communal facilities might be in need of repair or renovation, which could be a significant consideration for potential guests.
Regarding the RV sites themselves, the reviewer mentions that "the ground is hard to stay level it use to be a sugar cane field." This could be a practical challenge for RVers who require level parking for their vehicles to ensure proper functioning of appliances and overall comfort.
A significant health and safety concern is raised about the water supply: "Last I was told even though the water is well water the manager adds bleach to it, be aware you will spend lots for water for you and your pets." If this claim is accurate, it could be a major deterrent for many RVers who prefer not to use heavily treated well water for consumption or for their pets.
Finally, a serious allegation is made regarding the manager's behavior: "Also be aware of cars and windows. The manager has popped holes and dents in RVs and Cars while on riding lawnmower. This is a RV park." Such incidents, if true, would be a significant liability and a major concern for the safety and security of guests' property.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is evident that while Weeks Island RV Park might offer some basic advantages like clean and spacious sites at a good price for a stopover, there are also potential drawbacks and serious concerns that need to be taken into account. The discrepancy about the pool, the condition of the communal facilities, the leveling issues with the ground, the alleged water treatment, and the reported damage to vehicles are all factors that potential guests should investigate further.
For local users and travelers searching for "RV parks near me" in the New Iberia area, Weeks Island RV Park could be a budget-friendly option for a short stay, especially if the ongoing upgrades address some of the mentioned issues. However, it is crucial to be aware of the cash-only payment policy and to inquire about the current status of the pool and other facilities.
Prospective guests should also directly address the concerns raised in the critical review with the park management. Inquiries should include:
- The current status of the pool and other advertised amenities.
- The condition of the shower rooms and any rentable party facilities.
- Any advice on leveling RVs on the sites.
- Information about the water source and any treatment processes.
- Measures taken to ensure the safety of guests' vehicles and property.
By contacting Weeks Island RV Park directly, potential visitors can obtain the most up-to-date information and clarify any concerns before making a reservation. While the positive review highlights its suitability as a stopover with clean and spacious sites, the negative review raises serious issues that warrant careful consideration and verification.

Apr 20, 2025 · M SHADEFirst on their flyer it says there is a pool there’s not. Second you have to pay cash each month I figured they hiding money from the state that way, not my lane. I was there long enough to know the manager is not professional does a lot of talking about his health like his balks are swollen 😅I can’t. The owner comes and goes seems nice enough but not vested in the business. The shower room and place they claim you can rent for parties, the building is in bad shape I’ll include photos. Just saying it was quite right at 410 a month. The ground is hard to stay level it use to be a sugar cane field. Last I was told even though the water is well water the manager adds bleach to it, be aware you will spend lots for water for you and your pets. Also be aware of cars and windows. The manager has popped holes and dents in RVs and Cars while on riding lawnmower. This is a RV park
Jan 11, 2024 · Cynthia M. BurtonWife and I stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed it all. Price is reasonable and the park is well maintained, laundry room worked well, Curtis is on site manager and was a wealth of info on places to visit and eat, easy access to New Iberia and Lafayette
Feb 10, 2024 · Terry ScottThis is a very well maintained and quiet camp ground 160.00 a week for full hookups and a shower house with washers and dryers There is an on site manager 24 hours a day Easy access to New Iberia and about 30 minutes from Lafayette They only take cash or check as payment
Feb 05, 2024 · Donna ScottGood place to stay overall. Attached are pictures of the grounds, the office, and the building housing the laundry mat and shower house. It does cost money to operate the washer and dryer. Not sure why the sign says Weeks Island RV park, but it is the campground labeled Chase's RV park on Google maps. The owner is super nice and was very helpful. This was especially welcoming since we were staying here due to our home being unliveable at the moment due to Hurricane Ida. The grounds are nice and the shady trees are a definite plus. They have spots that are 30 amp and 50 amp with sewer and water. They also have nightly, weekly, and monthly rates that are very enticing.I was concerned because other Google reviews talk about their treatment while here being sub-par. I can see how they felt that way, but it was probably because the park does have strict rules and the groundskeeper is quick to say something about it. Two other small things are that the wifi signal the park has is super weak and didn't even reach our camper, but we did stay on an end of the park. Also the laundry room and shower house building does not have any a/c.Overall I would stay here again.
