West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Texas, seeking a convenient and well-maintained place to park your RV? West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp, located at 70013 Clarke Rd, Fort Cavazos, TX 76544, USA, presents itself as an option for travelers and those visiting the military installation. For individuals looking for short-term or potentially longer stays within a comfortable and accessible environment, understanding the features and experiences at this travel camp is essential. This introduction aims to provide a detailed overview of West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp based on the limited publicly available information, primarily focusing on the feedback shared by its users.
West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp can be contacted via phone at (254) 288-9926 or their mobile number, +1 254-288-9926. These contact details are crucial for prospective visitors to inquire about reservations, availability, specific amenities, and any relevant policies or procedures for accessing the travel camp, especially given its proximity to a military installation.
The available information regarding West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp primarily comes from a few concise online reviews. While limited in number, these reviews offer some initial insights into the experiences of individuals who have stayed at the facility. It's important to note that with a small sample size, these opinions may not represent the entirety of experiences at the travel camp, but they provide valuable initial feedback for those considering a stay.
One reviewer describes West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp as offering "good value, clean sites, and easy access." This positive feedback suggests that the travel camp provides a satisfactory experience in terms of affordability, cleanliness of the parking areas, and convenience of entry and exit. However, this reviewer also points out a potential issue with the attendants' awareness of vacancies, noting a discrepancy between the reported availability and the actual number of open sites. This suggests that it might be advisable for potential visitors to confirm availability directly when making inquiries or reservations.
Another reviewer describes the facility as "clean" with "nice pad sites." The mention of "nice pad sites" implies that the parking areas for RVs are well-maintained and possibly offer a level of comfort or convenience. This reviewer also considers the pricing to be "fair" and explicitly states that they "definitely would recommend" the travel camp, particularly for those visiting Fort Hood (now Fort Cavazos). This strong positive recommendation from a visitor who was likely in the area due to the military installation speaks favorably of the travel camp's suitability for its target audience.
Considering these reviews in the context of someone searching for "RV parks near me" in the Fort Cavazos area, West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp appears to offer a clean and reasonably priced option with accessible sites. The positive recommendation from a visitor to Fort Cavazos suggests it is well-suited for those with connections to the military base, whether for visits, temporary duty, or other reasons. The mention of "easy access" is also a significant factor for RV travelers who often prioritize convenience in navigating to and from their campsites.
However, the comment about the attendants' potential lack of real-time vacancy information highlights the importance of direct communication with the travel camp management to ensure accurate booking and availability details. Prospective visitors should not solely rely on potentially outdated information and should always confirm their reservations directly.
Given the limited information available, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of all the services, features, and the complete environment of West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp. Typically, RV parks offer a range of amenities such as water hookups, electrical connections, sewer hookups, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and potentially recreational areas. The reviews do not explicitly mention these amenities, so it would be prudent for those interested to inquire specifically about what is included with the site fees.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" who are affiliated with or visiting Fort Cavazos, the location of West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp within the vicinity of the base is likely a significant advantage. Military travel camps often cater specifically to the needs of military families, retirees, and visitors, potentially offering a community environment and convenient access to base facilities and activities (though this is not explicitly stated in the provided information and would need to be verified). The "good value" mentioned by one reviewer could also be a significant draw for budget-conscious travelers, particularly those on military per diem or fixed incomes.
To gain a more complete understanding of West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp, prospective visitors should consider the following: contacting the provided phone numbers to inquire about amenities, reservation procedures, check-in/check-out processes, pet policies, and any specific rules or regulations of the travel camp, especially those related to its location near a military installation. It would also be beneficial to ask about the size and type of RV sites available to ensure they can accommodate their specific RV. Inquiring about any potential discounts for military personnel or veterans might also be relevant for some users.
In conclusion, based on the limited available reviews, West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp appears to be a clean, fairly priced, and easily accessible RV park, particularly recommended for those visiting Fort Cavazos. However, potential visitors should be aware of the possible issue with vacancy information and should directly contact the management for detailed information about amenities, policies, and to ensure accurate reservations. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Fort Cavazos area, West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp warrants further investigation as a potentially suitable option.

West Fort Cavazos Travel Camp Reviews
Good value, clean sites, and easy access. Attendants didn't seem to keep up with vacancies as they thought only 1 open when, in fact, there were 4-5 vacancies.

Feb 27, 2025 · KingRanch DaddyFront desk attitude, one of the worst attitudes experienced outside of Walmart. Trash thrown around the dumpster during business hours in full view of the front desk. No flow back pressure release (yuk). Optimized for maximum amount of RV's. Exit/ Entrance mismarked...
Aug 17, 2022 · Rod SerlingA no-frills RV park; just the basic amenities. However, the office staff are really kind and accommodating. The community showers and restrooms are cleaned daily.** WARNING**People steal off your RV unit. Someone cut my internet cable connected from the box to my RV.The community laundry room needs upgrades. Only one washer works. The dryers are smelly and lined with pet fur. The dryers do not dry very well.
Mar 19, 2025 · Mekka HamiltonI WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULDStaff is horrible. Rates get raised even when the park isn't improving. Broken glass on corner but staff is more concerned with non existing rules. Very disappointing.Has a ton of potential if the MWR makes some changes.Update 4/9/25: staff is slightly better. Everything else remains the same
