Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort Introduce
For those seeking a genuine escape into nature with the comfort and convenience of modern RV amenities, Willow Acres, a Park Rapids RV Resort, stands out as a prime destination. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Park Rapids, Minnesota, this RV park offers a unique camping experience that prioritizes space, privacy, and tranquility, making it an ideal choice for travelers searching for "RV Parks Near Me" that truly deliver on their promise of a peaceful retreat.
Located at 14170 Crooked River Dr, Park Rapids, MN 56470, USA, Willow Acres is easily accessible yet provides a wonderfully secluded feel. You can reach them by phone at (218) 252-2337 or on their mobile at +1 218-252-2337. The resort's design emphasizes generous spacing between sites, a feature highly lauded by past visitors. Unlike many RV parks where neighbors are tightly packed, Willow Acres boasts "large sites" and lots that allow campers "space to stretch out without having neighbors so close they could see in your windows." This commitment to privacy is a significant draw, ensuring a quiet and undisturbed stay, perfect for those looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.
The environment at Willow Acres is characterized by its natural beauty. The park is situated on sandy ground, which proves beneficial even during heavy rainfall, as reported by a satisfied customer who noted "no puddles" after a major storm. While the current tree cover is predominantly pines, guests have suggested the addition of more leafy trees for enhanced shade, indicating a desire to further embrace the natural surroundings. Despite this, the overall impression is one of a "secluded" and "quiet" setting, offering the serene atmosphere that many RVers crave.
When it comes to services and features, Willow Acres caters specifically to the needs of self-contained RVs, providing essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Each campsite is a convenient pull-through, a highly appreciated feature, especially for those with larger rigs like 40-foot toy haulers. This design allows for easy parking and setup, eliminating the need to unload before positioning your RV, a common inconvenience at other parks. Full hookups are a standard offering at Willow Acres, including 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections at all pitches. This ensures that your RV has everything it needs for an extended and worry-free stay.
A notable and pleasant surprise for many campers is the inclusion of a fire ring with a cooking grate at each site, allowing for classic campfire experiences and outdoor cooking. While some RV parks might have limited or no fire pit availability, Willow Acres embraces this traditional camping element. The resort also offers high-speed internet (250 Mbs Fiber Optic) available for purchase at each site, providing a balance between disconnecting in nature and staying connected when desired, making it suitable for both leisure and remote work. Other basic amenities include trash disposal and drinking water.
Willow Acres is a pet-friendly RV park, warmly welcoming furry companions. As one reviewer enthusiastically shared, their "rather large shepherd" was "welcomed and had space enough to play & be 100% exhausted" by the end of their stay. This commitment to being pet-inclusive adds another layer of appeal for RVers traveling with their animal friends, often a crucial factor when choosing an RV park. Furthermore, for those with recreational vehicles like ATVs or dirt bikes, the owner has demonstrated flexibility and understanding, allowing children to ride their machines on the property, provided they are respectful of the environment and other campers. This speaks to the accommodating nature of the management, fostering a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
The unique selling proposition of Willow Acres lies in its commitment to providing a spacious, private, and quiet camping experience. With "only 8 sites on 25 acres," the park prioritizes quality over quantity, ensuring each guest has ample room to relax and enjoy their surroundings. This is a stark contrast to more crowded campgrounds and is a significant advantage for those who truly want to get "off the beaten path and get away from the crowds." The vast open spaces also make it ideal for stargazing, as highlighted by a camper who enjoyed watching the night sky.
From a promotional perspective, Willow Acres emphasizes its proximity to local attractions while maintaining its secluded feel. It's just a 5-minute drive from the town of Park Rapids, offering convenient access to stores, restaurants, and other necessities. More significantly, it is approximately 20 minutes from Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, a major tourist attraction. This location allows campers to enjoy the tranquility of the RV park while having easy access to outdoor adventures and cultural experiences. The focus on privacy, large sites, and full hookups are key elements in attracting RVers who value these features.
Current rates for Willow Acres are competitive, with nightly rates typically around $45 (with a 2-night minimum), weekly rates at approximately $250, and monthly rates around $700. These rates offer flexibility for short getaways or longer stays, catering to diverse travel plans. While the park excels in providing ample space and essential hookups, it's worth noting that it is not a resort with extensive recreational amenities like playgrounds or pools. As one reviewer put it, "No other amenities but dark skies at night and the quiet you only get out in the country." This makes it perfect for those who are self-sufficient and prefer to create their own entertainment through imagination and appreciation of the natural environment, as observed by a camper whose children enjoyed "taking pictures of the sunsets."
In summary, Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort is an exceptional choice for RVers looking for a quiet, secluded, and spacious camping experience. Its large, pull-through sites with full hookups, pet-friendly policy, and accommodating management set it apart. While it may not offer extensive on-site amenities, its focus on privacy and proximity to natural attractions like Itasca State Park make it a highly desirable destination for those who prioritize a peaceful and authentic outdoor adventure within the "RV Parks Near Me" category.

Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort Reviews
Wonderful and secluded...quiet with large sites. No neighbors close enough to bother you if they choose to be loud. Great stay for the week I was here.
Apr 16, 2025 · SD BarnesExactly as described, space to stretch out without having neighbors so close they could see in your windows. Fire ring with cooking grate provided which was a nice surprise. Each campsite is a pull through which works great with the 40’ toy hauler. Every place we’ve been prior we had to unload before parking & leave the machine out until we left so this was an absolute win. Owner allowed the kids to ride their machines on the property, also a big plus. Of course, we made sure they were extra respectful of the property and other campers. We have a rather large shepherd and he was welcomed and had space enough to play & be 100% exhausted when we left.Only suggestion would be to plant some leafy trees that would give some shade & relief from the sun. There’s plenty of trees but mostly pines.Whoever wrote the single star review obviously was not a camper at this campsite! We also has a major storm the 1st night. There were no puddles and not possible beings the entire campsite is located on sandy ground. We had ZERO issue with the rain or pulling through with the truck and 40’ camper through the driveway, road or into the campsite. Some people can’t be satisfied I guess. If you’re looking for a place where the kids are being entertained by everything internet or electronic this may not be for you. If the kiddos have a little imagination then go for it. Ours enjoyed taking pictures of the sunsets and isn’t that why we take them camping?
Jul 18, 2022 · Darlene LeeThis campground was truly a gem. I'm a quiet person, who deals with people all the time in my profession. So, when I go on vacation, I want peace. This place was beautiful, spacious, and had what I needed. I also camp with my German shepherd, and it was so nice to have space to exercise her! It was a win-win! Verizon didn't work well there, but that wasn't a huge deal for me. I can't wait to go back next year! ❤️🏕
Sep 28, 2022 · Paula KI am with Darlene, previous review – 5 Stars – we were actually there the same weekend and it was awesome to see the kids tooling around on the ATV’s, looked like a blast. This place is IDEAL. My wife and I compared it to BLM camping with ALL of the amenities needed: BLM Camping Minnesota style. We absolutely will come back when we head north. Owner was super helpful as our reservation for this weekend in Itasca feel through and they had an opening, so glad we stayed here because the space, site layout, picnic table, fire ring, and hook-ups were perfect. So, if you are looking for some open space, a little privacy, great location, peace, and great ownership – this is the place for you.
Jul 21, 2022 · Brian BarryThis is such a fantastic and unique RV/Campground. You'll never find this kind of privacy and space at any other site, especially with full hookups. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
