For local residents seeking a family-friendly camping experience within the "camping near me" category, Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Shenango Valley, located at 559 E Crestview Dr, Transfer, PA 16154, USA, offers a picturesque setting and a range of amenities. You can contact them at (724) 962-9800 or +1 724-962-9800 for inquiries and reservations. Based on customer reviews, this campground presents a blend of natural beauty and engaging activities, although some potential drawbacks regarding signal strength and noise should be considered.
The environment of Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Shenango Valley is frequently praised for its beauty. Situated on a hill and featuring "lots of trees," the campground offers a scenic and potentially shaded camping experience. The hilly terrain adds to the visual appeal of the setting. Its proximity to the Shenango River Reservoir is a significant advantage for outdoor enthusiasts, providing opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water-related activities just a short distance away.
One reviewer specifically highlighted the "great pool," noting that it is particularly well-suited for children aged 10 and under due to its mostly shallow depth. This makes the campground an attractive option for families with younger kids looking for a safe and enjoyable swimming environment. The same reviewer also mentioned "fun activities for the kids on the weekends," indicating that the resort actively organizes entertainment and programs designed for children, enhancing the family-friendly atmosphere.
The service from the staff at the office is described as "great," contributing to a positive overall experience for campers. This suggests that guests can expect helpful and friendly interactions with the campground management and staff, which is crucial for a comfortable and stress-free stay.
One family who initially planned not to renew their seasonal lease due to a preference for traveling to different locations had such a positive first-year experience at Adventure Bound Shenango that they now "look forward to returning as seasonal campers next year." This strong endorsement speaks volumes about the welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the overall camping experience offered by the resort.
However, it's important to acknowledge some potential drawbacks mentioned in another review. This camper noted "poor tv and cell/wifi signals," which could be a concern for those who rely on connectivity for entertainment or work. The hilly location of the campground might contribute to these signal issues. Additionally, the reviewer expressed a desire to "get rid of gas powered golf carts," suggesting potential noise or environmental concerns related to their use within the campground.
The same reviewer also mentioned noise issues arising from "3 different 'seasonal' campers playing music loud enough to be heard several sites away." This indicates that noise levels from longer-term residents could occasionally impact the experience of other campers, particularly those seeking a quiet and peaceful retreat.

Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Shenango Valley Reviews
Campground is on a hill. Poor tv and cell/wifi signals. Need to get rid of gas powered golf carts. 3 different "seasonal" campers playing music loud enough to be heard several sites away.
Apr 30, 2025 · Mike DomhoffMy family loves camping here. Beautiful setting with hills and lots of trees. Very close to Shenango River Reservoir. Great pool, especially for kids 10 and under as most of the pool is fairly shallow. Fun activities for the kids on the weekends, and great service from the staff at the office. We are midway through our first year at a seasonal campsite. Prior to the start of the year we were not planning to renew our seasonal lease because we tend to enjoy traveling to different places, but our experience at Adventure Bound Shenango was so good that we now look forward to returning as seasonal campers next year. Highly recommend this campground.
Jul 19, 2024 · Matt RowleyThis place is awesome. It’s our 5th Halloween camp. We are up to 18 people. We use both lodges, a pet friendly site, a camper site and 2 tent sites. Wonderful people, activities and everyone there are nice, kind and friendly people. This year we even did a polar plunge. We are already booked for next year.
Oct 06, 2024 · Mary Beth WintersWe came here for our first time. It was awesome! All the other campers were super friendly and generous (we're camping noobs). Pool is amazing for kids. Lots of activities to do. We had a blast. The only thing disappointing is that the website states they have "mini golf.". They do not. It's a one hole putting green. I brought a ton of quarters for the "arcade." The first machine ate our quarters and didn't work. So did to second. Pretty small and the games the kids actually wanted to play didn't work. Disappointing, but the overall experience was so much fun that I still don't want to give less than a five-star. I hope you guys can improve upon the arcade!
Aug 25, 2024 · Matthew RyanWe stayed with 3 groups of friends. The rental sites had concrete pads to park your RV or Travel trailer with full hookups. The have golf carts for rent. They have a rec room and a pool. The pool has a gradual slope from 0 to 4.5 feet and is perfect for all ages and swimmer levels. All in all, I was very satisfied.
