The campground boasts a clean and organized environment, a feature consistently praised by previous visitors. While some ambient noise from helicopters and nearby highway traffic may be present, many find the overall atmosphere peaceful and enjoyable, especially those who prefer the subtle hum of traffic over more disruptive campground sounds. The presence of mature trees offers ample shade throughout the campground, creating comfortable and cooler campsites during warmer months. However, it's advisable to bring a pop-up gazebo or screen tent to provide additional protection from the prevalent flies and mosquitoes, ensuring a more comfortable outdoor living space.

Campers are strongly advised to utilize these bear boxes for storing food and scented items to prevent attracting bears and other animals.
Beyond the immediate amenities of the campground, its location within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor recreation. One highly recommended activity is the short walk to a nearby lake. This provides a chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area, perhaps for a leisurely stroll along the shore, some quiet reflection, or even potential fishing opportunities (be sure to check local regulations and licensing). The surrounding national forest is also likely to offer hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, and other outdoor adventures, making Alpine North Loop Campground an excellent basecamp for exploring the natural wonders of Wyoming.
While the reviews mention some noise from helicopters and highway traffic, many visitors find this to be a minor inconvenience, especially compared to the potential for disruptive fellow campers. For some, the consistent hum of traffic even provides a sense of background white noise that they find preferable. Ultimately, the level of noise sensitivity is subjective, but it's worth considering when making your decision.
In summary, Alpine North Loop Campground offers a compelling option for those seeking "camping near me" in the Alpine, Wyoming area. Its clean facilities, spacious campsites, attentive hosts, and essential amenities like water, toilets, fire rings with grills, and bear boxes contribute to a comfortable and safe camping experience. Alpine North Loop Campground Reviews
Nice clean campground, but noisy. Lots of helicopters and of course highway traffic. Nice shade, but bring a pop up gazebo because there are lots of flies and mosquitoes galore. The squirrels are active, so make sure your dog is leashed. Huge metal tables and a nice fire ring with a grill. Water is available and several toilets. There’s a group site and a B loop too. Spots aren’t too close together which is nice. I love a campground where the hosts work to keep everything and everyone following the rules. Oh, bear boxes too.
Aug 20, 2024 · Jane RuppRon and Kim are absolutely the best camp hosts out there, kind, considerate, and definitely have the guests' comfort in mind. This was our first campground we stayed at in Wyoming, we spent two nights here.We continued our trip then came back for 2 more nights before ending our trip.Highway noise is present which might detour some, we personally enjoy the sound of traffic more then rowdy people so this campsite was very enjoyable.I never knew a vault restroom could smell good until we came here. They have the CLEANEST BATHROOMS in all four states we traveled ( UT, WY, MT, ID ).My kids were so impressed by the restrooms that they kept checking other restrooms on the trip to compare them to these LOL.Don't forget to take the little walk to the lake!
Aug 15, 2024 · Sunny AGreat little campground close to the highway so it's a bit noisy, but the scenery is beautiful and makes up for it. We had planned on kayaking however the lake by the campground is only there in the spring and early summer the water is used for irrigation the rest of the summer and fall. When we were here, it was only the Snake River. The lake is large and a couple miles north. Very clean and well maintained campground. The camp hosts Ron and Kim are awesome.
Sep 03, 2024 · Sheila CroteauWe really enjoyed this campground, the sites were private, lots of trees and shrubs between sites. We saw deer a few times! The water wasn't working but we were self contained so it wasn't an issue. Our camp host Paula was great! Loved her happy, bubbly personality. She paints alot of Rocks and one day we came back to find a little ladybug rock on our step, so cute. It's not too far from many places to explore. Would certainly return.
Jun 03, 2023 · Lisa BIt's an okay campground. It's literally right off the main road in Alpine Junction and there are plenty of cars, motorcycles and loud semis driving past all night long! Some of them sound like they could be about to crash into your campground. The hosts were all about trying to control everything in camp. They would drive around plenty of times on their golf cart and even tell us to be quiet as it was "getting close" to quiet hours (in 15 minutes)Then the next day tell us we were being too loud during the day at 11am.There are plenty of trees for hammocks.Bathrooms were pretty clean, TP was missing in one of them for a day.
