East Table Group Campground Introduce
For local campers seeking a potentially convenient "camping near me" option within the Bridger Teton National Forest near Alpine, Wyoming, the East Table Group Campground offers a straightforward solution, particularly when other campgrounds in the area might be full. Based on the available reviews, while the location has some drawbacks, it also provides essential amenities and a notably helpful host, making it a practical choice for certain camping needs.
One of the primary considerations for potential visitors to East Table Group Campground is its proximity to a "very busy highway." According to one reviewer, the campground is located right next to this highway with "nothing to buffer the noise." This significant factor could impact the tranquility of your camping experience, especially for those sensitive to traffic sounds. If you are seeking a completely quiet and secluded natural retreat, this campground's location might not be ideal. However, for campers who prioritize accessibility or are simply looking for an available spot while passing through, the highway adjacency might be a less critical concern. It's essential for local users considering "camping near me" to weigh the convenience of the location against the potential for noise disturbance.
Despite the noise from the nearby highway, East Table Group Campground does offer some essential amenities. Visitors have noted the presence of "clean vault toilets" and the availability of water. These basic facilities are crucial for a comfortable camping experience, and the cleanliness of the toilets is a definite plus. The availability of water spouts throughout the campground ensures that campers have access to a necessary resource for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. While the campground might be described as "basic" and "nothing fancy," these fundamental amenities provide the essentials for an overnight stay or a longer camping trip.
A consistently praised aspect of East Table Group Campground is its "great" and "super nice" summer host, mentioned in both of the provided reviews. This host appears to be exceptionally accommodating and helpful, going above and beyond to assist campers, especially those who find themselves in a bind with other campgrounds being full. One reviewer recounted how the host personally led them and another couple to available spots at the group site when the campground across the road was full, ensuring they had a place to stay for the night. This level of hospitality can significantly enhance a camping experience, providing a sense of security and assistance, particularly for those unfamiliar with the area or facing unexpected challenges. For local users who value a friendly and helpful point of contact during their "camping near me" trip, the host at East Table Group Campground seems to be a significant asset.
The name "East Table Group Campground" suggests that it is primarily designed to accommodate larger groups. However, the experience of the reviewers indicates that individual campers or smaller parties might also be accommodated, especially if space is available. This flexibility could be particularly useful for locals who might be part of a larger group outing or those who find themselves needing a last-minute camping spot. It's advisable to contact the provided phone number to inquire about the availability for different group sizes and to understand any specific regulations or considerations for group camping at this site.
In terms of location convenience beyond just highway access, East Table Group Campground is situated approximately 10-15 minutes away from the Hoback Market at a roundabout. This proximity to a market could be beneficial for campers who need to pick up forgotten items, replenish supplies, or grab a quick meal. Having a relatively close access to a store can add a level of convenience that might outweigh some of the drawbacks of the campground's location for certain campers. For local users who might need to make occasional trips for supplies, the nearness to Hoback Market is a practical advantage.
One reviewer mentioned that the host led them to the "group site across the road," which might imply that the East Table Group Campground is located near another camping area, possibly the "campground on the opposite side of the road" that was full. This suggests that the area is a known camping destination within the Bridger Teton National Forest, and East Table Group Campground serves as an additional option, potentially with a different set of amenities or regulations compared to nearby sites. Local campers familiar with the area might already know of other camping options in this vicinity.
The scenery is described as "nice" by one reviewer, indicating that despite the proximity to the highway, the natural surroundings still offer some visual appeal. Being located within the Bridger Teton National Forest, campers can likely expect at least some degree of natural beauty in the area, even if it's somewhat compromised by the nearby road. The specific types of scenery (e.g., forests, mountains, rivers) are not detailed, but the general positive comment suggests that there are still aspects of the natural environment to appreciate.
Given that the reviews mention a "summer host from Texas," it's possible that the campground is primarily operational during the summer months. Local users planning to camp outside of the typical summer season might want to inquire about the campground's operating schedule and the availability of the host and amenities during those times. The provided phone numbers could be used to gather this information.
In summary, East Table Group Campground offers a practical "camping near me" solution, particularly for groups or individuals needing a spot in the Bridger Teton National Forest near Alpine, Wyoming. While its proximity to a busy highway results in noise, the campground provides clean vault toilets and readily available water. The standout feature is the exceptionally friendly and helpful summer host who goes out of their way to assist campers. Its location about 10-15 minutes from Hoback Market adds a degree of convenience for supplies. Local campers should weigh the potential for noise against the benefits of the amenities and the helpful host when considering this campground for their outdoor adventures.

East Table Group Campground Reviews
Noisy and right next to very busy highway with nothing to buffer the noise, but clean vault toilets, water available and definitely a great host that allowed us to stay when there were no other options. 10-15 minutes away from Hoback Market at the round-a-bout - we had to run back to get some missed items.
Jul 24, 2018 · ChrisThis campground was a bit of a lifesaver for me. I was passing through late one night and the campground on the opposite side of the road was full. As I was sitting there looking somewhat dejected, the super nice summer host from Texas (sorry I don't recall your name, but you know who you are) came along and said there were some spots at the group site across the road. She led myself and a motorcycling couple over there and got us both set up for the night. It's a basic camp spot, nothing fancy, but had clean bathrooms, nice scenery and a terrific host. Thanks!!
