American Heritage RV Park

146 Maxton Ln, Williamsburg, VA 23188, USA

4.0
This is a nice RV campground, less than 10 minutes from York River State Park with great easy to moderate hiking options. Located about 15-20 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg and most of the dining/shopping options. Sites are clean and level but very close together. No trash pickup, but that's not a huge deal to us, especially since we were on the same row as the dumpsters. There is a nice little nature walk that circles most of the park - takes about 15 minutes to walk it. Pretty quiet at night, which is nice (no highway noise that I recall). Bathrooms are clean. A few opportunities for improvement: 1. allow campers to pick their own sites when they make the reservation (currently, they assign your site when you get there) 2. install poop stations (there are none in the campground, yet most of the people camping have dogs), and 3. ask the grounds crew to blow off the sites after they weed whack/mow - they splattered the sites and RVs with the trimmings. - Jaymie Eichorn
