We stayed here for a few months to attend Packer games in summer and fall of 2024. I booked over 9 months ahead. When we were 10 miles from arriving we got a call saying they gave our spot away. They would find us one but we would have to move in a few days. I specifically told them that we work during the day so we can only move at night. They checked and said that would not be a problem because the temp site did not have someone in it until the day after we moved. The day we were to move I went to the office to find out where we were going. She said that the person that is in what was supposed to be our spot had not left yet but as soon as they did (checkout time) we would have to move because someone else was coming in to our temp spot that day. I told the employee that we worked. She did not care in the slightest and just shrugged. I told her that to move we would both have to take off from work. Again, she shrugged. I asked if there was someone I could talk to who would at least apologize to me about the situation. She said, “I am the only one here.” No apology, no empathy, nothing. This was just how our stay started. It only got worse. While this is nice and close for a Packer game, it is not worth it. Lots of permanent residents in rvs from the 80s and before. Sites are not close to level. The people next to us were staying in an early 80s bus with no water and a hole in the floor. They banged, sawed, welded, etc everyday. Between that and the fact that it sounds like the highway is right next to you, it was not relaxing at all. Junk everywhere. Do yourself a favor, s stay anywhere else. - Andrea Chodera

Apple Creek Campground Introduce

For local residents exploring "camping near me" options in the De Pere, Wisconsin area, Apple Creek Campground, located at N3831 County Rd U, De Pere, WI 54115, USA, is a facility that warrants careful consideration based on recent customer feedback. While its proximity to attractions like Lambeau Field for Green Bay Packer games might be a draw for some, reviews from visitors in 2024 suggest potential drawbacks that local users should be aware of. You can contact the campground at (920) 532-4386 or +1 920-532-4386 for inquiries, but it is advisable to weigh the information shared by previous guests.

The environment of Apple Creek Campground, based on the reviews, presents a mixed picture. One reviewer described it as a "pretty park," suggesting some aesthetic appeal, possibly with trees and a natural setting. However, this positive aspect seems to be overshadowed by other environmental factors. The same reviewer noted that it "sounds like the highway is right next to you," indicating a potential issue with noise pollution that could detract from a relaxing camping experience. For local users seeking a tranquil natural retreat, the proximity to a highway and the resulting noise levels should be a significant consideration. The presence of "lots of permanent residents in RVs from the 80s and before" also contributes to the overall environment, potentially creating a different atmosphere than a purely transient campground.

The services and features at Apple Creek Campground, as described by recent visitors, raise several concerns, particularly for short-term or transient campers. One significant issue highlighted is the reliability of reservations. A guest who booked a spot over nine months in advance for Packer games in the summer and fall of 2024 reported that their reserved site was given away upon their near arrival. While the campground offered a temporary site, this was accompanied by the inconvenience of having to move and a lack of flexibility regarding the timing of the move, with an apparent disregard for the guests' work schedules. The lack of apology or empathy from the staff member encountered during this situation suggests potential issues with customer service and communication.

For transient travelers relying on full hookups, another significant drawback was noted. One reviewer with a large Super-C RV stated that they were placed in the "upper lot" which lacked sewer hookups and a bathhouse. While the walk to the bathhouse in the lower lot was described as a "lovely stroll through the trees," it was inconvenient for early morning use. Furthermore, these guests had to wait until their departure to drive through the lower lot to dump their tanks. This suggests a potential segregation of amenities, with full hookups and bathhouse access possibly prioritized for long-term residents or those in specific areas of the campground. Local users with RVs, especially those requiring full hookups for a comfortable stay, should inquire specifically about site availability and the location of necessary amenities.

The condition of the campsites themselves also received negative feedback. One reviewer mentioned that "sites are not close to level," which can be a significant inconvenience for setting up tents or leveling RVs, potentially impacting the comfort and stability of your camping setup. The observation of "junk everywhere" by another guest further detracts from the appeal and suggests a lack of overall site maintenance and cleanliness in certain areas.

The presence of long-term residents with older RVs was also noted, with one neighbor staying in an "early 80s bus with no water and a hole in the floor" who engaged in noisy activities like banging, sawing, and welding daily. This paints a picture of a potentially disruptive environment, especially for those seeking a peaceful and quiet camping experience. Local users should consider that the atmosphere might be influenced by a significant number of permanent or long-term residents.

One reviewer did mention "great security," although another transient guest who stayed for two nights did not observe any proactive security presence, noting that no one even stopped to check on them upon arrival. This discrepancy highlights the potential for varied experiences and suggests that security might not be consistently noticeable to all visitors.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Apple Creek Campground based on the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying here would need to contact the campground directly to inquire about pricing, availability, and any potential discounts or special offers. Given the negative feedback regarding customer service and site conditions, it would be prudent to ask detailed questions about the specific campsite being offered, the location of amenities, and the campground's policies regarding reservations and transient guests.

In conclusion, while Apple Creek Campground near De Pere, Wisconsin, might offer proximity to certain local attractions, recent customer reviews highlight several significant concerns that local users should carefully consider when looking for "camping near me." These issues include unreliable reservations, potential inconvenience regarding site assignments and amenity access for transient RVers, uneven campsite conditions, highway noise, and a potentially disruptive environment due to long-term residents and a perceived lack of customer service. While one reviewer found the park "pretty" and another noted "great security" (though this was not universally experienced), the overall feedback suggests that local campers might want to explore alternative options in the area that offer more reliable service, better-maintained sites, and a more peaceful environment. Direct communication with the campground is essential to get current information, but it should be approached with the understanding of the potential issues raised by recent guests.
