Shady Acres Campsites Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Denmark, Wisconsin area? Shady Acres Campsites, located at 5422 Shady Acres Rd, Denmark, WI 54208, USA, offers a local option for those seeking a camping experience. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground has aspects that may appeal to different types of campers, along with some points to consider. Let's explore what Shady Acres Campsites offers for local users.
Environment: One reviewer noted that the campground is a "piece of the wildness" without requiring a long drive to their usual camping spot, suggesting a natural and accessible environment for local residents. Another camper highlighted that "The sunsets are beautiful at this campground," indicating a scenic aspect that many campers appreciate. The name "Shady Acres" itself implies a setting with trees, likely providing shade for campsites, which can be particularly pleasant during warmer weather. While the specific details of the landscape aren't extensive, the reviews suggest a natural environment close enough for a convenient escape, with the added bonus of potentially beautiful sunset views. However, one significant environmental concern raised was that "the water smelled like sewer," necessitating the purchase of a filter by one camper. This is a crucial point for potential visitors to be aware of regarding the water quality. For local users searching for "camping near me" with a touch of nature and scenic sunsets, Shady Acres might be appealing, but the water situation is a factor to consider.
Services: The reviews provide limited information about the specific services offered at Shady Acres Campsites. One reviewer mentioned staying for two nights, and another was accommodated for two months, suggesting that both short-term and potentially longer-term stays are possible. The fact that one camper had to buy a water filter implies that potable water might be available but of questionable quality without filtration. We can infer that basic campsite amenities are likely present, such as camping spots. To get detailed information about services like restrooms, showers, electrical hookups, fire pits, picnic tables, or water access (and its quality), it would be necessary to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (920) 863-8143 or +1 920-863-8143. The willingness of the owner to allow a two-month stay for a family with a child in the NICU suggests a degree of flexibility and compassion in certain circumstances.
Features: A notable feature of Shady Acres Campsites is the potential for beautiful sunset views, as highlighted by a reviewer. The "piece of the wildness" aspect, close to home, is another feature that could appeal to local campers seeking a quick natural escape. The capacity to accommodate both short and long-term stays might also be considered a feature, offering flexibility for different camping needs. However, a significant point to note is the reported issue with the water smelling like sewer, which required a camper to use a filter. Additionally, one reviewer mentioned a perceived rudeness from the owner towards females, contrasting with a different interaction the owner had with their husband. These points, while subjective, are features of the overall experience as reported by campers and should be considered. For local users looking for "camping near me" with scenic potential and flexible stay options, Shady Acres offers these, but the water quality and reported owner behavior are factors to be aware of.
Promotional Information: While there isn't explicit promotional material in the reviews, the mention of beautiful sunsets and the convenience of a nearby "piece of the wildness" could be seen as positive selling points for local campers. The willingness of the owner to accommodate a family for an extended period under difficult circumstances also speaks to a level of community consideration. However, it's crucial to balance these positives with the reported negative aspects, such as the water odor and the perceived rudeness. For local users considering "camping near me," Shady Acres Campsites offers proximity and scenic potential, but it would be wise to inquire about the current status of the water quality and perhaps seek more recent feedback on the overall experience. To get the most up-to-date information on availability, pricing, amenities, and the water situation, contacting the campground directly via phone ((920) 863-8143 or +1 920-863-8143) would be recommended. Consider Shady Acres for its local convenience and sunset views, but be sure to ask about the water and recent visitor experiences.
In summary, Shady Acres Campsites near Denmark, WI, offers a conveniently located natural camping experience for local users, with the added benefit of potentially beautiful sunsets. The campground appears to accommodate both short and longer stays. However, a significant concern raised by a reviewer is the issue with the water smelling like sewer, which required a filter. Additionally, there was a report of perceived rudeness from the owner towards females. While these negative aspects should be considered, the convenience and scenic potential might still make Shady Acres a viable option for some local campers looking for "camping near me."
For local residents interested in Shady Acres Campsites, it is strongly recommended to call them directly at (920) 863-8143 or +1 920-863-8143 to inquire about the current water situation, the amenities available, pricing, and recent visitor experiences. This will help you make an informed decision about whether this local camping option meets your needs. Enjoy exploring the campgrounds near you!

Shady Acres Campsites Reviews
2 night stay, mid September. Only had 1 day of 70 degrees and sun but the kids enjoyed camping as usual and I enjoyed the piece of the wildness without the 1.5 hour drive to my usual spot
Sep 13, 2023 · Chad Nelson (DBA Native Cab, LLC)The sunsets are beautiful at this campground. However, the water smelled like sewer and we had to buy a filter. The owner is very rude towards females..... he was completely different when my husband talked to him. I'm giving this a 4 star as he did let's us stay for 2 months while my son was in the NICU.
Aug 12, 2021 · Jessica ClarkThis place was great! Super nice people. Showers would have been nice, but the electricity was good and the people were awesome. We stayed in the back, giving us privacy (surrounded by woods) and plenty of room for our tents and our family. The price was excellent and we will definitely be back!!!
Aug 07, 2022 · Sarah LockmanDo not stay here. Campers next to us played LOUD music until after 1am. We called the host to have them turn down the music...nothing was done about it and the music continued. The camp host was very rude to us when we called stating "we woke him up". In addition bathrooms are not very nice and campsites are basically on top of each other. Worst place we have ever stayed.
Sep 06, 2022 · Maya McNamaraStayed here four nights in late September 2018. Chose it because it was cheap and was close to Green Bay. There were only a few sites at the campground and most were occupied with long-term residents. We do not mind that though. The owner was nice when I called to inquire about a spot but did warn that no one would be there, so we should setup when we get there. He did not know the site number but gave me decent directions to it, so we were able to find it. The site was nice and big with water and electric hook-ups. We were able to find an area that was level too. We love not using the levelers. The site was surrounded by trees. We were immediately greeted by the resident dog, Bailey. She was super sweet and visited us every time we left the RV. There is a camp host too, but they were unavailable when we arrived. In fact, nobody said anything until the third day we were there, and we finally paid. They are check or cash only. Surprisingly, it was a very quiet campground except there was a small party on Saturday night at the office, but they quieted down at midnight and it was fine. We had two major complaints which we are not sure either one is necessarily the RV park’s fault. One was the water was filled with iron. You could smell it in the shower. We did not notice it while drinking, but we filter the water twice. We had a small leak at the water filter at the spigot and it was stained after only 4 days due to iron. The second issue was the mosquitoes. I have never seen so many mosquitoes in my life. Hundreds would swarm anytime the RV door was opened. We had to spray with bug spray just to take the dogs outside it was so bad. They were even bad on the day there was extreme winds. The campground is about 30 minutes from Green Bay. We explored a few days there, visited Lambeau and some breweries. The park does have a dump station which was nice. There is road noise but we were not bothered by it. We sleep with a fan and it was plenty to drown it out. We had decent internet connection. Were able to get 4-5 bars on AT&T and about 3 on Verizon. Overall it was OK, but probably wouldn’t stay here again.
