Its hard to write a review on the campground if you do not understand the goal,before I go any further wish to thank whomever it was that contacted the state and media on our behalf, but we wish not to take that route currently. We camped there for 10 plus years, and shout out to all that made us feel welcomed,and especially our disabled son, whom always enjoyed the continuous visits by some we called family, and friends. People asked why we left but unfortunately cannot provide an answer. We certainly will not bash the campground because of the 85% of people there we still consider family and friends, we understand that sometimes when new ownership/ management come into business things are changed, some for good,some for bad, and some you just may not understand either way it happens.We do not want the standard label of a disgruntled camper and a seemingly scripted response when bad reviews are given, it sucks because our son enjoyed every minute that we were there and he asks a lot about going camping, and we decided that a permanent site is not in the near future because of how things shook out. I hear a lot about changes being made there since our departure and can only hope for the best whatever that may entail.Thanks to all that entrusted us to help with issues that arouse from camper repair, to golf cart repair and service, as it was a pleasure to help when asked.And before I forget the 15% of people that think that screen shot posts and reported back thinking that it will give you a step up, best of luck to you.The last thing we would like to see happen is the campground fail, because of people there that make it what it is.In short if you are looking for a permanent site they have availability, I encourage you to give it a try to see what its about.

My husband has been going to hucklberry campground since he was young with his father during deer hunting season. He continued the tradition with his brothers and then with his children, renting a site and hunting nearby public land. He has always been a Hucklberry patron and enjoyed the bar/grill. When we started dating he introduced me to his favorite bar and grill and I immediately fell for the welcoming environment at “Hucks” as I often call it. When a campsite became available Mark and I jumped in at the opportunity. We have been permanent campers for 3 years and have continued to enjoy the many improvements the owners have made. My daughter has this to say “Some of my best memories were created at Hucklberry Acres. I love how friendly and welcoming the campgrounds and staff are. My favorite memories are in the summer where I would spend nights at our camper with my mom. In the morning we would head off to a coffee shop nearby and then spend the day swimming, having fires, going on golf cart rides, watching movies, and stopping by the bar for some food and drinks. I always enjoyed swimming but once they installed the inflatables it was way more fun. I always enjoyed the craft fair and some of the events Huckleberry Acres hosted.” Let me add, I have made life long friends at Hucklberry. I look forward to seeing the continuing on going improvements at Hucklberry with Tricia and Brad the owners. Hucklberry campground is a fun and family grounded environment. I encourage and invite everyone to drop in for a visit.

It was our first time camping at Huckleberry Acres. We chose it because it was not far from the Fox Valley. We enjoyed our stay for several reasons and we will be returning. Brad the owner was very helpful. He talked with us and filled us in on the updates made in the last year and of upcoming updates in the near future. He also gave us the history of the campground. Wow! Who would have known! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Huck's Bar and grill with reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and professional.We made wonderful memories and will always remember Huckleberry Acres as the place where we seen the Northern Lights for the first time.

As Hucklberry Acres first work campers it was a growing experience for all. Huckleberry Acres was continually making improvements for campers all season and adding amenities. Their vision is to provide a family friendly getaway for everyone who camps there. The owners are receptive to input from campers and work hard to be visible in the campground. The campground offers everything from nightly to seasonal stays and has well maintained bathrooms/bathhouses. There is a small convenience store and a bar and grill onsite.
