Bear Lake Campground Reviews
Wisconsin's premier "up north" campground is full of fun and surprises! We love the lake and the friendly warm bar area where we enjoy a bluegrass Festival in October to raise funds for the Future Farmers of America😊
Oct 13, 2024 · Janet KautzGreat place with awesome people! The owners are great, very caring people, and the bartenders and wait staff go all out to make you comfortable and well fed.
Oct 18, 2024 · Jon Young (Highlander)Awesome beach area near the bar. Very shallow and sandy bottom that goes out very far. If you bring your kids I would recommend water shoes as there is a type of shell that lives on the bottom that you will step on. We had the lakefront double site, closest to the tiki beach. My 27ft and another 24ft camper fit. The 24ft took some careful driving but would be very good for multiple tents as long as it doesn't rain. Very wooded and shaded. Has a gate in front of it so you can keep little ones in and they won't wander out. Whole campground is very mature stand of pine, oak, and maple trees, word of caution if severe weather comes in as trees have been know to fall on equipment. All in all very great campground.
Jul 25, 2024 · Lee BochanyinExcellent service here . They have a large bar area & lots of room for dining . We were here for Friday fish fry . Prices are reasonable too .Our fish was a little mushy so I would not order that again . They had a nice salad bar with 2 choices of soup. Not sure if I’d return
Feb 02, 2025 · s MitchellWe arrived to our campsite on a Sunday. The mosquitos are horrible which I get they don’t have much control over but trying to set up camp while being attacked was awful. Went through 3 cans of bug spray had citronella candles going. Also on our arrival there was cigarette buts and trash all over our campsite. While setting up I had our dog tied out in the back of our campsite when a few individuals decided to walk from the lake up through the back of our site instead of the designated path. Luckily I saw them and grabbed my dog since he can be nervous when spooked. I asked the individuals to please not walk through our campsite. One of them decided to cuss at me and call me names. My 8 year old had to witness this. So I called to the front office to complain. The girl said she would send someone to talk to us. I received a text saying one of the owners would be down to talk to us. That never happened. Some maintenance kid came to clean up the cigarette buts not the owner. We stayed for 5 days and the camp store was barely open the days we were there so there was a few times we needed ice or fire wood and had to go to a gas station. The hours were not posted correctly on the door. My parents had a spot by the playground with full hook up. There is no privacy in between their site and the two cabin rentals. Your fire pit space is literally 5 feet from theirs. Also the highway is right behind those sites so constant semis rolling by. Went to the bar for food one afternoon. Was nothing outstanding. Over all will not return to this campground.
