Armstrong Ferry Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a tranquil "camping near me" destination, Armstrong Ferry Campground, situated at 6450 Armstrong Ferry Rd, Decatur, TN 37322, USA, presents a unique option. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground offers a predominantly quiet and welcoming atmosphere, particularly appealing to those with RVs seeking a peaceful retreat. However, it's important to note a contrasting experience regarding the caretaker's demeanor, which potential visitors should be aware of.
One reviewer describes Armstrong Ferry Campground as a "wonderful Quiet...Christian place to bring your camper." This suggests a serene and potentially faith-oriented community environment. The emphasis on quietness is a significant draw for campers looking to escape the noise and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in a more relaxed setting. The mention of it being a "Christian place" might indicate a welcoming atmosphere for individuals and families of Christian faith, although the campground is likely open to all respectful visitors.
The same reviewer further elaborates on the welcoming nature of the campground, stating that "everybody's Warm And welcoming you to the camp ground if you choose to visit." This positive social aspect can greatly enhance the camping experience, fostering a sense of community and belonging among visitors. Feeling welcomed and accepted contributes significantly to a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
The practical aspects of RV camping are also highlighted, with the reviewer noting that "it's easy to get your campers in and out." This suggests that the campground offers accessible and well-maintained sites suitable for maneuvering RVs of various sizes. This ease of access is crucial for RV owners and can make the setup and departure process much smoother and less stressful.
In terms of essential amenities for RV campers, Armstrong Ferry Campground reportedly offers "electricity, water, and sewer hook up." These full hookups are highly valued by RV travelers as they provide the convenience of running onboard systems, accessing fresh water, and managing waste without the need for frequent trips to communal facilities. The availability of these services contributes to a comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience.
However, a contrasting review introduces a note of caution regarding the campground's caretaker. This reviewer describes the caretaker as someone who "can be extremely hard to deal with and always acts like someone is doing something wrong." This negative feedback, while from a single reviewer, is important for potential visitors to consider. The reviewer specifically mentions issues arising with "the folks using the boat ramp," suggesting that interactions related to this amenity might be particularly sensitive.
The presence of a boat ramp implies that Armstrong Ferry Campground offers access to a nearby body of water, likely a lake or river. This would be a significant attraction for campers interested in boating, fishing, or other water-based activities. The convenience of launching a boat directly from the campground can greatly enhance the overall camping experience for those who enjoy being on the water.
Considering the two available reviews, Armstrong Ferry Campground seems to present a mixed picture. On one hand, it offers a quiet, welcoming environment with essential RV hookups and potential access to a boat ramp, fostering a sense of community for many visitors. On the other hand, there is a reported issue with the caretaker's demeanor, particularly concerning the use of the boat ramp, which could lead to negative interactions for some guests.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with an RV, Armstrong Ferry Campground in Decatur, TN, warrants consideration. The positive aspects of a quiet atmosphere, welcoming community, ease of RV access, and full hookups are significant advantages. If access to a boat ramp is also a priority, the campground offers this as well. However, potential visitors should be mindful of the reported negative experience with the caretaker and perhaps be prepared for potentially challenging interactions.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current environment and services at Armstrong Ferry Campground, it would be beneficial for interested local users to contact them directly at (423) 618-3715 or +1 423-618-3715. Speaking with the owners or managers could provide further insights into the campground's atmosphere, policies regarding the boat ramp, and any recent changes or updates. It would also be an opportunity to inquire about specific site availability and any potential rules or guidelines for campers.
Promotional information is not available in the provided reviews. When contacting the campground, it would be prudent to ask about any seasonal rates, discounts for longer stays, or any other special offers that might be available. Understanding the pricing structure and any potential cost-saving opportunities can help in making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Armstrong Ferry Campground offers a potentially peaceful and welcoming "camping near me" experience in Decatur, TN, particularly for RV owners seeking full hookups. The reported ease of access for RVs and the presence of a boat ramp are additional benefits. However, the negative feedback regarding the caretaker's behavior is a factor that prospective campers should consider. Direct communication with the campground is recommended to gather more detailed and up-to-date information to ensure it aligns with individual preferences and expectations for a camping getaway.

Oct 28, 2023 · Catherine OgleGreat little place to camp but the one gentleman that is caretaker can be extremely hard to deal with and always acts like someone is doing something wrong. Especially with the folks using the boat ramp.
Jan 04, 2023 · Heath JordanThis is a hidden gem! Very nice privately-owned campground right on the water. It's not fancy and is a bit rustic compared to the big commercial sites, but is a picturesque area to get away from it all. Secluded and well off the road
Aug 28, 2024 · Howard BlakeWent to visit some friends who are camping at this location. Beautiful little spot. Not crowded and lovely views of the river.
Oct 12, 2022 · Marisa HawkinsWe have camped many places through the years, but this has to be our favorite and our 6 year old daughter absolutely loves it. Beautiful, clean and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. We come to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that this place offers. We also love the fact that they have rules and expect campers, their visitors and their children to follow the rules.
