This trail is approximately 2 1/2 miles long, follows a roughly circular path, and is reported to be "well marked" with much of it featuring "fresh mulch" and a generally "smooth surface." The trail also includes "several spots of elevation change," offering a bit of a workout while enjoying the scenery. Astico Park has undergone upgrades in recent years, which have positively impacted the services and facilities available. One notable improvement is the presence of "several bathrooms," including some that "appear to be recently built." This suggests that campers can expect modern and well-maintained restroom facilities. While specific details about hookups at the campsites are not provided in the reviews, the mention of "camping areas" implies the availability of designated campsites. It's important to note that while "entrance is free" to the park for day use, "camping has a fee," so local users should inquire about the current camping rates when planning their stay. The park also features a "nice playground," as mentioned by one reviewer, making it an excellent option for families with children looking for "camping near me" with kid-friendly amenities.
A significant feature of Astico Park is the well-regarded hiking trail. It is crucial for local users planning a visit to Astico Park to be aware of potential construction projects. One reviewer mentioned, "I believe they will be starting construction on several projects at this park soon, so it may be a little more active than normal." The reviewer also noted that "they hope to have projects finished in July" (of an unspecified year, but given the context of recent reviews, likely in the near future). This ongoing or upcoming construction might lead to some temporary inconveniences or increased activity within the park. Therefore, it would be wise for those considering camping at Astico Park, especially in the period leading up to and during the potential construction, to inquire about the scope and impact of these projects when making their plans.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. As a public park (given the free entrance), promotional activities might be less common than at private campgrounds. However, the recent upgrades themselves could be seen as a form of promotion, indicating an ongoing effort to improve the park's facilities and appeal to visitors. Local users searching for "camping near me" might find the mention of these upgrades and the positive reviews about the park's beauty and amenities to be compelling reasons to choose Astico Park. For any specific discounts for residents, seniors, or off-season camping, it would be best to contact the park directly.

Its scenic river views, well-maintained hiking trail, multiple bathrooms (including new ones), and a playground make it appealing to a wide range of visitors, including families. However, potential campers should be aware of possible construction projects with an anticipated completion in July, which might temporarily affect the park's ambiance. Apr 20, 2025 · Michael RieseThis is a nice park that has been upgraded in the past few years. There are several bathrooms, including a few that appear to be recently built. There is a nice hiking trail that runs close to the river and runs more or less in a circle for about 2 1/2 miles, The trail is well marked with much of it with fresh mulch and has a generally smooth surface. There are several spots of elevation change to burn a few extra calories. The river views are pretty scenic, including the old bridge area. The park has many camping and picnicking areas. Entrance is free, camping has a fee. Overall 4 1/2 stars.
Apr 24, 2024 · Dennis PohleCamped here mid-April, when they opened for the year. Hiked here a few times over late fall and winter and fell in love. I saw a lot of deer and had beautiful water views. When camping, we stayed right on the water and had quite a surprise how great the birding was. Be careful in summer, for it can be buggy on the water. Fishing isn't to shabby either. We have tried below the Damn in spring and off the bridge. There are plenty of places to park around the park and spend the day or week. From what we have heard and experienced, it is a pretty quiet place, and dogs are welcome.
