Austin East KOA Holiday Introduce
For local residents and travelers seeking a top-notch "camping near me" experience in the Austin, Texas area, the Austin East KOA Holiday, located at 6029 Blue Bluff Rd, Austin, TX 78724, USA, consistently receives high praise for its cleanliness, extensive amenities, and exceptional service. Based on multiple positive customer reviews, this KOA campground offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Austin and the surrounding region, particularly for RV travelers and pet owners.
One recurring theme in the customer feedback is the exceptional cleanliness of the facilities. Guests repeatedly mention that the laundromat, restrooms, showers, store, and clubhouse are "spotlessly clean." This dedication to hygiene is a significant draw for many campers and sets Austin East KOA Holiday apart as a well-maintained and pleasant environment. Knowing that these essential facilities are consistently clean contributes greatly to a comfortable and worry-free stay.
For pet owners, the Austin East KOA Holiday appears to be a true haven. The "spectacular" dog park is highlighted as a "lifesaver" for those with active pets, providing a dedicated and presumably spacious area for dogs to exercise and socialize safely. Additionally, the presence of "pet sanitation stations around the grounds" demonstrates a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and convenience for pet owners, making it easy to clean up after their companions.
The availability of a convenient propane refill station is another significant feature, particularly for RV travelers who rely on propane for heating and appliances. While one reviewer noted that the propane prices were "quite expensive," they also acknowledged the convenience of having this service on-site, especially during colder weather. The unique service of filling individual tanks left near the road and returning them to the guest further enhances this convenience.
Guests consistently commend the staff at Austin East KOA Holiday for their friendliness and helpfulness. The grounds are described as being "continually maintained," indicating an ongoing effort to ensure a pleasant and well-kept environment. The presence of "smiling, kind people to help" creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Specific mention is made of Kim, who is noted for assisting guests with their stays and site arrangements, as well as the willing and friendly seasonal workers.
While the location is generally considered decent, one reviewer mentioned that it "could be slightly more convenient to grocery stores." However, they also pointed out that it only takes "a few minutes to get to Austin proper," highlighting the campground's accessibility to the city's attractions and amenities. This balance between a slightly more secluded campground feel and easy access to urban conveniences can be appealing to various types of travelers.
One of the most memorable experiences for guests at Austin East KOA Holiday appears to be the opportunity to participate in "feeding the long horns." This unique activity is described as a "favorite," suggesting a memorable and engaging experience that adds a special touch to the camping stay, particularly for families and those looking for a taste of Texas culture.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, one reviewer offered a point of constructive criticism regarding the premium RV sites. They noted that these sites did not offer additional amenities such as a concrete patio slab, chairs, or a grill, which they had expected based on their experiences at other KOA campgrounds with similar pricing. This suggests that while the basic facilities and services are excellent, the premium site offerings might not align with the expectations of some frequent KOA visitors seeking enhanced site-specific amenities for shorter stays.
However, this same reviewer still praised the friendly and informative staff and the cleanliness and maintenance of the other facilities, including the showers, bathrooms, and laundry room, indicating that the core offerings of the campground are indeed of high quality.
The consistent positive experiences shared by multiple guests underscore the commitment to service and quality at Austin East KOA Holiday. The emphasis on cleanliness, comprehensive amenities, and a welcoming staff makes it a strong contender for local users searching for "camping near me" that offers more than just a basic campsite.

The friendly and helpful staff contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere. While the location might be slightly removed from grocery stores, it provides easy access to Austin's attractions. Overall, the strong emphasis on cleanliness and service makes Austin East KOA Holiday a highly recommended "camping near me" option for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Austin East KOA Holiday Reviews
We have stayed at Austin East KOA twice now, once for about 3 weeks and this last time for almost two. This is absolutely the nicest campground we have stayed in as far as cleanliness, and an abundance of amenities. Their laundromat, restrooms, showers, store and clubhouse are all spotlessly clean. The dog park is spectacular and is a true lifesaver for those of us with very active pets. And the pet sanitation stations around the grounds make it easy to clean up after your best friend. This trip was extremely cold and made it necessary for us to refill our propane at their convenient fill station. The only complaint about that is it is quite expensive to do it there. But we were glad to have the heat! If you have individual tanks, you only need put them near the road and they will be filled and returned to you. The grounds are continually maintained and you can always find smiling, kind people to help. Kim is always helping folks figure out stays and moves, and the seasonal workers we’ve dealt with and been around are so willing to help and always do it with a smile. It’s a decent location although it could be slightly more convenient to grocery stores. But it isn’t bad. And it only took a few minutes to get to Austin proper. We will gladly go back to stay at AE KOA Holiday. Service is certainly the name of the game here.
Feb 22, 2025 · Joeva MerrionWould have given it 5 stars but the premium sites are no different than a regular pull through. We hoped for a patio concrete slab, chairs, grill. When we come for a short visits it’s nice to have those amenities. We payed what we would at others with those amenities. We visit multiple KOAs in the states every year.We loved how friendly and informative staff was, and how nice the rest of the facilities were. The showers/bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Laundry room was also very nice.We will definitely be back.*Feeding the long horns was by far our favorite activity there. Thanks
Mar 12, 2025 · Jen AI never expected such a great stay. This is one of the best KOA's I've stayed at. The campsites are dotted with oak trees, and not too close together. The pool is awesome. The grounds are well taken care of by the friendly crew. The office staff and the maintenance crew made me feel like I was family. The restrooms and showers were well equipped and very clean. The location is perfect for exploring Austin. I will definitely be back.
Feb 02, 2025 · Richard HunttingThe staff here at Austin East KOA Holiday is absolutely amazing. They are friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful whether you want to go to town or to the rodeo or just relax with the country feel I have been staying here long-term and they sure know how to take care of you. The bathrooms are very well kept. and the grounds are beautiful. There’s a little store with lots of convenience items and cute gifts. They have propane as well. The prices are very reasonable for Austin. You won’t find a better cleaner place to stay. They have fun contest throughout the year and a great rec center where they have bingo and other fun activities, including pancake breakfasts. Check them out you won’t be sorry.
