River Forest Haven Reviews
We had an incredible experience at River Forest Haven! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the beautiful, peaceful surroundings and the warm hospitality of the hosts. They were extremely helpful and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. The campsite itself was shaded& secluded enough to feel like a true escape into nature but still well-maintained and comfortable. We brought our dogs along, and they had a ball. We paddle boarded & canoed. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway from the city with great hosts, scenic nature, and pet-friendly fun, River Forest Haven is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back!
Mar 20, 2025 · Corrie HowellSpent 2 nights here for Valentines weekend. The weather was cruddy but we still made a good time of it. Which is a good fore warning: the path to the sites gets a little muddy with rainfall- if you’re not in a suitable vehicle it may do you well to not go so deep in. That being said I’m excited to return in better climate. It’s very lowkey here and when it did get a little packed you barely felt the presence of others still.Showers are really nice. They said at the time only 2 had hot water and in our experience only one of those 2 had hot water. They’re using propane though so I’m sure if needed they could fix that asap.Really neat spots. We spent a good amount of time just searching for the one we wanted.Would definitely recommend this spot
Feb 17, 2025 · Rudy AllenWe went for a two night stay & really enjoyed ourselves!! The hosts were very attentive and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. The showers are nice, we just had to call and they ran (literally) to turn them on for us due to them periodically shutting them off for weather purposes. Our friend tried hanging a hammock and broke a tree (our fault not theirs) && they came and check on us right away. They weren’t concerned about the tree, just our friend. They are pet friendly, just keep your pet near by you. The fishing was great and peaceful there. They have docks to fish from. They do have porter potties throughout the grounds that they keep pretty clean which I appreciated as well. We will definitely be going back!
Jan 19, 2025 · Alycia SanchezReally gorgeous spot! Loved our campsite and it was close enough to town to get whatever we needed. Camp host delivered our firewood to us when asked! The roads are a bit rough and no lights (which we liked a lot but could help to have a solar light at each site just for help finding after hours! So make sure to bring!)Bathroom is also just a portable potty!most of the showers were hot and they are so cute- but sometimes water didn’t warm up. Would love to tube or kayak here in the future but we really enjoyed just camping and hanging out in Austin during the day this time!
Oct 09, 2024 · brittany barnettSHOWER REVIEW!Where to start! Rain fall shower heads tall enough for Bigfoot. Cute benches in each stall with a shelve for shoes - so they don’t get wet!! Plenty of hooks on the door for towels and bags. Motion sensor lights in stalls, and string lights outside make it feel less spooky at night :)Nothing like a hot shower after a day spent in the river!I appreciate this place, seems like they are always improving things.. there’s a new deck in front of the shower this time around.I met the charming carpenter who built them - lovely, talented team they got out there!LOVE the showers, looking forward to my next visit :)Thank you RFH 🫶
