Bass' River Resort Introduce
For local residents of Missouri seeking a memorable "camping near me" experience, Bass' River Resort, located at 204 Butts Rd in Steelville, MO 65565, USA, comes highly recommended by repeat visitors. With contact numbers (800) 392-3700 and +1 800-392-3700 readily available, potential guests can easily inquire about the various offerings of this resort. Customer reviews highlight its appealing riverside location, spacious cabin options, and opportunities for river-based recreation, making it a strong contender for those looking for a diverse and enjoyable outdoor getaway.
The environment surrounding Bass' River Resort is clearly a major draw, with one reviewer stating their preferred campsite is "near the river and great for the views and swimming." This suggests that the resort boasts a picturesque setting along a river, likely offering scenic views and direct access for water activities. Steelville is located in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, a region renowned for its beautiful rivers, rolling hills, and lush forests. Therefore, guests at Bass' River Resort can likely expect to be immersed in this natural beauty, with opportunities for enjoying the sights and sounds of the Ozark landscape. The river itself appears to be a central feature, providing a focal point for relaxation and recreation.
Bass' River Resort offers more than just traditional campsites; it also features "spacious cabins," as mentioned in one of the reviews. This provides a comfortable and potentially more amenity-rich lodging option for those who prefer not to tent camp. The spaciousness of the cabins suggests they can accommodate families or groups, making the resort a versatile choice for different types of "camping near me" experiences. While details about the specific amenities within the cabins are not provided in the reviews, one can anticipate they would include beds, living areas, and possibly kitchenettes and private bathrooms, depending on the cabin type. Local users seeking a more comfortable and convenient stay while still enjoying the natural surroundings might find these cabins particularly appealing.
A significant feature of Bass' River Resort is the opportunity for "nice rafting on the river." This indicates that the resort either offers rafting excursions directly or provides access and facilities for guests to enjoy rafting on the adjacent waterway. The clear and often gentle rivers of the Ozarks are popular for canoeing, kayaking, and rafting, making Bass' River Resort an attractive destination for those seeking water-based adventures. The combination of riverside camping or cabin stays with the availability of rafting makes for a well-rounded vacation experience.
One reviewer specifically mentioned their family and friends have camped at Bass multiple times over the years, calling it "definitely one of my favorites… if not the favorite campground around here!" This strong positive sentiment speaks volumes about the overall quality and appeal of the resort. The fact that guests return repeatedly suggests a high level of satisfaction with the environment, services, and overall experience offered at Bass' River Resort.
While the majority of the feedback is positive, one reviewer shared a "con" related to forgetting their tent. They noted that the only tent option available at the camp store was a small, expensive two-person tent, and they felt the cashier's reaction was less than sympathetic. While this anecdote highlights a specific situation and a suggestion for improvement (offering tent rentals in various sizes), it does not detract from the overall positive experiences shared by other reviewers. It does, however, serve as a helpful tip for future campers to ensure they bring all necessary camping gear or inquire about rental options beforehand.
Another "bummer" mentioned in a review is the lack of cellular service at the resort. This is a common occurrence in more remote natural areas and is something to be aware of for those who rely heavily on their mobile devices for communication or internet access. However, the reviewer quickly follows this with "Other than that, awesome place for a vacation," indicating that the lack of service is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall positive aspects of the resort. This could even be seen as a benefit by those looking to disconnect and fully immerse themselves in a technology-free natural environment during their "camping near me" getaway.
For local users seeking a "camping near me" destination that offers a blend of natural beauty, comfortable accommodations (in the form of spacious cabins), and exciting recreational activities like river swimming and rafting, Bass' River Resort appears to be an excellent choice. The positive testimonials from repeat visitors underscore its appeal and the quality of the experience it provides. The resort seems particularly well-suited for families and groups looking for a fun and engaging outdoor vacation.
In terms of promotional information, Bass' River Resort could highlight its prime riverside location in the scenic Ozarks, emphasizing the opportunities for swimming, rafting, and enjoying the beautiful views. The availability of spacious cabins caters to those seeking a more comfortable stay than traditional tent camping. The resort could promote itself as a perfect destination for family vacations, group outings, and anyone looking to escape the city and immerse themselves in nature. The positive reviews, especially the repeat customer endorsement, should be prominently featured in their marketing efforts. Additionally, highlighting any other amenities such as picnic areas, campfire spots, or on-site store (while noting the tent situation) would be beneficial.
Local users interested in Bass' River Resort are encouraged to contact them directly at (800) 392-3700 or +1 800-392-3700 to inquire about cabin and campsite availability, specific amenities, rafting options, and any other questions they may have. It would be wise to ask about cellular service if this is a concern, and perhaps inquire about Wi-Fi availability in common areas, if any. Given the positive feedback regarding the staff ("Thanks Bass Resort Staff! You have a fun and unique camping spot! 😁"), potential guests can likely expect friendly and helpful service.
In conclusion, Bass' River Resort near Steelville, MO, offers a highly recommended "camping near me" experience with a beautiful riverside setting, spacious cabin options, and exciting river activities like swimming and rafting. The positive reviews from satisfied customers, including repeat visitors, speak to its appeal as a fun and unique camping destination in the Missouri Ozarks. Bass' River Resort Reviews
I’ve camped at Bass with my family and friends multiple times over the years. It’s definitely one of my favorites… if not the favorite campground around here! The campsite we always pick is near the river and great for the views and swimming. My only “con” is that if you forget your tent like we did, whoops 🤷♀️ the only tent option at the camp store is a tiny 2 person $100 tent and the lady at the cash register kind of made fun of us for forgetting a tent.I know it was a silly mistake but oh well, stuff happens! This is just a suggestion but maybe Bass could offer a few tent sizes for rent and you pay to rent it, just incase something like this happens to anyone else.We will definitely be back to camp hopefully soon (and hopefully with our tent lol). Thanks Bass Resort Staff! You have a fun and unique camping spot! 😁
Feb 14, 2025 · Payton DouglasGreat place to go on vacation, spacious cabins , nice rafting on the river. The only bummer out here is , you won't have any service on your cellular device. Other than that, awesome place for a vacation.
Mar 26, 2025 · Lucas DaultonAbsolutely wonderful place to visit. Friendly staff, plenty to do for all ages. Definitely will be back on a regular basis.
Mar 29, 2025 · scott waringAbsolutely BEAUTIFUL place to camp and stay. The Autumn and Springtime are the best seasons to experience this place. Too many amenities to name. They have an on-site pizza place that will deliver to your campsite. Their holloween party is fantastic and great for kids. Book fast because it fills up quick! The baths and showerhouses are simple and non-luxurious but clean and nice. Resort sits right on the Ozark Trail. Also has riverside access for tubing and kayaking.
