The availability of a phone number, (573) 210-7705 or +1 573-210-7705, indicates that direct inquiries for more information or potential reservations are welcome.
The environment of Berryman Campground is described by reviewers as "very nice" and "quiet," suggesting a serene setting away from the hustle and bustle of more crowded campgrounds. The presence of a "cute little pond" adds to the natural charm of the area, potentially offering opportunities for peaceful reflection or simply enjoying the water feature. While the reviews don't explicitly detail the surrounding landscape, the location in Potosi, Missouri, hints at the possibility of being situated within or near the scenic Ozark Mountains region. This could mean campers can expect wooded areas, rolling hills, and the natural beauty characteristic of this part of the state. The quiet atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing "camping near me" getaway where they can unwind and connect with nature.
One of the standout features highlighted in the reviews is the presence of "clean restrooms with toilet paper," which is a significant plus for many campers. This indicates that the campground management prioritizes hygiene and comfort. Additionally, the mention of "7/8 spots with tables and pit" suggests that a majority of the campsites are equipped with picnic tables for convenient outdoor dining and fire pits for campfires and cooking. This basic infrastructure enhances the camping experience, providing essential elements for a comfortable stay. The second review further elaborates on the campsite amenities, mentioning "concrete pad for your vehicle or camper (if it's small enough)," indicating designated parking or leveling areas at each site. The presence of a "hook" at each site is intriguing and could potentially refer to a lantern hook or perhaps even a utility hook, although clarification might be needed when contacting the campground.
A particularly noteworthy feature of Berryman Campground, as mentioned by a reviewer, is that it is a "really nice little campground considering it's free!" This makes it an exceptionally attractive option for budget-conscious local users seeking "camping near me" without incurring camping fees. The fact that it is free yet still offers amenities like pit toilets, concrete pads, fire pits, and picnic tables underscores its value. The review also points out that "spots are spread apart and well maintained," which contributes to the feeling of privacy and a pleasant camping environment. This spacing between sites enhances the quiet atmosphere and allows campers to feel less crowded.
While the second review mentions that the "hiking trails nearby" were not particularly impressive for that reviewer, the campground itself received high praise. This suggests that while the immediate vicinity might not be a hiker's paradise, the campground serves as an excellent basecamp for other local attractions or simply for enjoying a peaceful camping experience. Campers might find other opportunities for outdoor recreation within a short drive from the campground, or they might be perfectly content with the relaxing ambiance and amenities offered directly at Berryman Campground.
For local users actively searching for "camping near me" that combines affordability with a pleasant and quiet setting, Berryman Campground appears to be an underrated gem. The positive reviews highlight its cleanliness, essential amenities, and the spaciousness of the campsites. The fact that it is free makes it an even more compelling option for individuals, couples, or small families looking for a budget-friendly outdoor escape. The presence of a small pond adds a touch of natural beauty, enhancing the overall camping experience.
In terms of promotional information, Berryman Campground could emphasize its status as a "very nice, quiet, and free" camping option in the Potosi area. Highlighting the clean restrooms, the availability of picnic tables and fire pits at most sites, and the presence of concrete pads for parking could attract campers looking for basic comforts in a natural setting. The "cute little pond" could be featured as a charming natural element of the campground. The positive reviews, particularly the sentiment that it is an "underrated spot," serve as authentic testimonials that can be powerful in attracting local campers seeking a genuine and pleasant experience. Word-of-mouth and local online forums could be valuable avenues for promoting this hidden gem.

Given that it is a free campground, it's advisable for local users planning to visit Berryman Campground, especially during peak seasons, to arrive early to secure a spot. Understanding any limitations on the size of vehicles or campers that can be accommodated on the concrete pads would also be helpful. Berryman Campground Reviews
Very nice, quiet spot! Clean restrooms with toilet paper! Has 7/8 spots with tables and pit! Cute little pond! I feel is a underrated spot.
Dec 26, 2024 · LeTiesha SasserReally nice little campground considering it's free! Pit toilets on site. Sites have a concrete pad for your vehicle or camper (if it's small enough), fire pit, picnic table, and a hook. Spots are spread apart and well maintained. Didn't love the hiking trails nearby, but the campground was awesome.
Apr 09, 2022 · Catherine AbrahamI am a disabled veteran and stayed overnight in nov 2024 for free. Rolled in again at the end of January. They now charge $15.00 per night. I will not be returning. Way to steep for me on limited v.a. disability. There is no water or electric hook ups. Price is just greedy.
Feb 02, 2025 · Silver UnicornGreat little free campsite. Paved roads all the way in, fire rings and spacious campsites. Sites were mostly clean, a little junk here and there. Pit toilets were clean, and the entire area seemed like it was maintained. Not much site seclusion, and if car camping the paved parking isn't all that level. RVs with levelers should be fine. Not too far off the main roads, easy to find. The campground is also right on a logging road so there will be truck traffic during the day. There was also a bit of road traffic at night despite the remoteness of this campground (it's not that far from the access road).
Jul 05, 2017 · George CoghillThe campground sites are nice. Good space between them with fire pits and level ground for tents. However the pit toilet we a mess. The men’s was full of waste up to ground level. The women’s was dirty and both did not have toilet paper. Not the site are close to road and you will here some traffic but it quotes down at night.
