The services and features of Garrisons River Resort are highly praised in customer reviews, indicating a well-run and guest-oriented facility. Key services and features include:
- Friendly and Accommodating Staff: Multiple reviews highlight the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure guests have a positive experience. Examples include drawing maps for float trips and even providing boat pick-up for those who overshoot their take-out point (though the feasibility of this during busy periods is noted as potentially limited).
- Exceptionally Clean Shower House: A standout feature mentioned in both reviews is the cleanliness of the shower house, described as the best some guests have seen at a campsite. It is noted for being well-stocked, free of cobwebs and floor debris, and having intact shower curtains and mats.
- River Access for Float Trips: The resort facilitates float trips, suggesting direct access to a river suitable for this activity. The staff's knowledge and assistance in planning these trips are a significant benefit for guests.
- Karaoke Pavilion: A unique amenity that provides entertainment, especially during inclement weather. The presence of a DJ, like Mark, who keeps the music going all night, indicates a lively social atmosphere.
- Clean Bathrooms: Beyond the shower house, general bathroom facilities are also described as immaculate and odor-free.
- Campsite Amenities: While not detailed, standard campsite amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings are likely available. The option to camp on the riverbank during a float trip suggests a variety of camping locations.
A minor downside mentioned is a fee for using the showers. However, one reviewer considered this a small price to pay for the cleanliness and quality of the facilities, even viewing it as a tip for the maintenance staff. This suggests that while there is an extra cost, the value received justifies it for many guests.

Garrisons River Resort Reviews
Staff are friendly and accommodating. Shower house was best I've seen at a campsite. Clean, stocked, no cobwebs or TP on the floor, no missing shower curtains or mats. My sister and I camped and then did a 2-day float. A nice fella on the staff drew us a map with suggestion where to camp on the bank. We overshot our take-out the next day and they came and picked us up in a boat! Not sure how feasible this would've been on a busy weekend but we did appreciate them going the extra mile or 10 for us.
Jun 04, 2024 · Elizabeth KirkpatrickMy group had an absolute blast this past weekend at garrisons. It rained all day Friday but that was no problem because we got to hangout at the karaoke Pavillion and sing our hearts out. Mark was a great DJ and kept the music going all night. We will be coming back for sure. The bathrooms were immaculate and didn't smell at all. The only down side is paying for the shower but it's not a huge deal. I thought of it as a tip for whoever was taking care of the bathroom.
Jun 04, 2024 · Nicole FienholdWe reserved a cabin at the Silver Fox Lodge in Garrison's. Nice campground for RV, camper or tent camping. However, for what we paid a night I would expect a little more. These cabins are in dire need of renovation! The mildew smell was so bad we had to make a trip to the store for air fresheners. The small fridge was a rusted mess! And there were a couple spots on the floor where it felt like you would fall right through. I would be ashamed to rent these out! Also, the only outlet near the counter where you can use the hotplate, which has like a 12" cord, is under the counter by the floor. Thank goodness I brought extension cords! Also the lighting was very dim. Enjoyed our float immensely, and our daughter and son-in-law had their small camper, so their spot was nice. Also, the young people at the office were very nice and helpful. An older lady was there the next day, and she wasn't very nice. She was very snarky after she found out we switched our float from 6 to 10 miles. She said we weren't supposed to make any changes the Friday before. She should have taken that up with her employee instead of taking it out on paying customers.
Jul 22, 2024 · Holly CarveiroI can not say enough good things about this place. We have been coming here for 20+ yrs. Tenting it now pop up camper. They just changed owners a few years ago and now it’s even better. My husband and I were there this weekend Fri to Sunday. We were the only ones camping in the whole park. My husbands truck broke down as he was coming back from fishing. He stopped to let Bill the owner know what had happened. He told him it was fine if we needed to leave the truck and camper down there it was fine. Offered trailer to take things home. I went up to talk to the lady in the office that we would probably be leaving Sunday and having truck towed on Monday. So very nice. Offered to go to town if we needed anything. We got home on sat with camper and truck with the help of family. The lady in the office texted me asking if we made it home. I will continue to camp and float there. Highly highly recommend.
Apr 14, 2024 · Pattie WomackWe had planned on floating a couple hours farther south but that river (Jack's Fork) was closed due to flooding from storms during the trip down. I found Garrisons from a Google map search of other floating outfitters, and when I called they said the Marmec was open for floating. We were so excited our float trip was saved. The staff at Garrisons was so polite and accommodating. They worked with us on a plan for a 2 day float, even drew us a map! The facilities (showerhouse, campground, outdoor pool, store) were very well kept. The pool looked very clean and inviting, although we didn't set aside time to swim in it this trip. We are sure to return and share this wonderful experience with our kids. Thank you everyone at Garrisons for making our trip unforgettable.
