Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort Introduce
For local users in the Moultonborough, New Hampshire area searching for "camping near me," Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort, located at 65 Barrett Pl, offers a camping experience with a mix of natural charm and recreational facilities. Based on recent customer reviews, it's important to consider both the positive and negative aspects to determine if this campground aligns with your expectations for a local getaway.
One of the frequently praised features of Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort is its peaceful environment. According to one reviewer, the campground is quiet, with the soothing sounds of crickets providing a relaxing backdrop. This suggests that the location may offer a welcome escape from the noise of everyday life, allowing campers to immerse themselves in a more natural and tranquil setting. The friendly nature of the people at the campground has also been highlighted, contributing to a potentially welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere.
Adding to the appeal, the campground seems to foster a sense of community through organized holiday events. This suggests that Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort aims to create an engaging and festive environment for its guests, providing opportunities for social interaction and shared experiences, particularly during holiday periods. The presence of a small, convenient store on-site is also a practical benefit, offering guests easy access to essential items without having to leave the campground.
For recreational activities, the campground offers a pool, an arcade, and a playground. While one reviewer noted that the playground appeared to be from the 1990s, they also mentioned that it still provides enough entertainment for children. The inclusion of a tire swing was a nostalgic highlight for one visitor, adding a touch of classic outdoor fun. These amenities suggest that Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort caters to families with children, offering various options for leisure and recreation.
However, it's crucial to consider some significant criticisms raised by recent visitors regarding the cleanliness and condition of certain facilities. One reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction with the overall state of the campground, despite acknowledging the friendliness of the staff. A particularly concerning issue was the reported presence of vomit in one of the showers, which appeared to have remained uncleaned for an extended period. This raises serious concerns about the hygiene and maintenance standards of the bathroom facilities.
Further complaints about the bathrooms included clogged toilets, the presence of bugs, and dilapidated fixtures such as a falling-apart counter. These descriptions paint a picture of poorly maintained and potentially unsanitary restroom facilities, which could significantly detract from the overall camping experience.
While the pool area was described as "not terrible," the same reviewer noted that the surrounding tables and chairs were dirty, and there was shattered glass on the ground, posing a safety hazard. This suggests that while the pool itself might be functional, the upkeep of the adjacent area needs improvement to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests.
The arcade, or game room, received particularly negative feedback, being described as "horrible" and "not even funny." According to the review, the game room lacked lighting, the games were broken down and dirty, giving the impression of an abandoned space. This suggests that this amenity may not be a viable option for entertainment.
In contrast, the laundry facilities were highlighted as decent, functional, clean, and reasonably priced. This positive feedback indicates that at least one essential amenity is well-maintained and provides a valuable service for campers, especially those on longer stays.
Regarding the campsites themselves, they were described as being of decent size but very close together. This proximity might offer a more communal feel but could also lead to a lack of privacy for some campers. Potential visitors should consider their preference for space and privacy when evaluating this aspect of the campground.
Overall, Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort offers a quiet, wooded setting with friendly staff and a sense of community fostered through holiday events. The presence of a pool, playground, and arcade provides recreational options for families. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the bathrooms, the condition of the game room, and the cleanliness of the pool area. While the laundry facilities received positive feedback, the reported issues with hygiene and the state of some amenities are important factors for local users searching for "camping near me" to consider.
Prospective visitors should weigh the positive aspects, such as the peaceful environment and friendly community, against the negative feedback concerning cleanliness and facility maintenance. It may be advisable to contact Bear's Pine Woods Campground & Resort directly at (603) 253-6251 or +1 603-253-6251 to inquire about the current conditions of the facilities and any recent improvements or changes in management practices. Considering the mixed reviews, a direct inquiry could provide a more up-to-date and comprehensive understanding of what to expect from a stay at this campground in Moultonborough, NH.

Oct 04, 2024 · Cheyenne Siroisi will say the staff and employees are very nice but the camp over all is not so nice.there was throw up in one of the showers that looked like it could have been there for multiple days maybe even weeks. bathroom are disgusting. toilets clogged, bugs everywhere, counter falling apart. pool area was not terrible but the tables and chairs were gross and there was shattered glass all over the ground. playground is enough to have fun for the kids but it’s not much just a wooden play set. game room is so horrible it’s not even funny. no lights, games are broke down and dirty it just looks abandoned. laundry is decent it does work and it’s very clean and it’s also a good price. campsites are decent sized but very close together. i don’t think i will be coming back here.
Aug 17, 2022 · ashley santtiWe love Halloween weekend!! Very nice owners and staff. However, we booked our site last year for 2024 Columbus day weekend and they emailed us and said bc of a miscommunication we couldn't have our site anymore. We've been on the site three years now and loved it. The last couple of years is been going down hill...kids run all over at all hours of the night, they popped our Halloween blow up, throw rocks, set off small fireworks and nothing is done about it. We thought we were closer to the staff because we've been going for the past 8 years but I guess that's just not true. Said that after all these years we will give up our Columbus Day fun.
Apr 25, 2024 · Alisha LangillRates were great. The bathroom and showers were clean. The pool was great for the kids and the play area was nice too. But... our campsite was pretty small and for the 1st day we smelled sewage nonstop until we realized the drain on our site wasn't capped. We used a tent so didn't think to check it. There were so many people cruising around the camp in golf carts and 4 wheelers, I was worried my toddlers would step out of our site and get hit by one. The 10-8 quiet time is a laugh. This place is NOT quiet! The camper across from us the last night was full of drunk people cackling until after 12. The night before a family was bouncing a ball at 11 and I asked them to stop. People laugh and talk and drive around for hours after quiet time. We also went to sit on the really cute looking gazebo, but the furniture was all shredded and there was garbage all around it. Gross. We went because the reviews were so positive. But not accurate.
Jul 03, 2017 · dowling godinThe owners were awesome hands down! The camp was nice and overall clean. Showers were always hot. Honestly the only bad thing i could say was the mattress thickness of the bunkbeds in the rv we rent but we were able to use the table converted bed and slept fine.
