Long Island Bridge Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" with waterfront access in a scenic New Hampshire setting, Long Island Bridge Campground, located at 29 Long Island Rd, Moultonborough, NH 03254, USA, offers lakeside camping opportunities. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at this campground appear to vary, with some guests highlighting positive aspects such as waterfront sites and a welcoming host, while others express significant concerns regarding the accuracy of online representations and campsite conditions. Let's explore the environment, services, and features of Long Island Bridge Campground based on the available feedback.
Environment:
One positive review mentions staying directly waterfront at Long Island Bridge Campground, emphasizing the proximity to the lake. The lake itself is described as "super clear," which would be a significant draw for those who enjoy swimming, boating, or simply the aesthetic appeal of pristine water. The reviewer also noted that their 10-month-old daughter could safely splash in the water, suggesting easy and safe access to the lake from at least some of the waterfront sites.
However, another review paints a contrasting picture regarding the general environment of the campsites. This experienced camper cautioned against renting a site based on website pictures or the camp map. They reported that despite the online depiction of "shaded spacious sites," the reality was that most of the full hookup sites suitable for their motorhome were in "full sun." Furthermore, they noted that the "green grass between each campsite" shown on the map was "non-existant." This discrepancy between the advertised and actual environment of some campsites is a critical point to consider.
The differing experiences suggest that while some parts of the campground, particularly the waterfront, might be appealing, other areas, especially those advertised as shaded and spacious, may not meet expectations set by online materials.
Services and Amenities:
One positive aspect of the services appears to be the hospitality of the host, Kathy, who was described as a "lovely Host!" This personal touch can significantly enhance a camping experience.
The availability of waterfront sites is itself a key amenity, allowing direct access to the lake. One reviewer with a motorhome specifically asked for a full hookup, indicating that at least some sites offer this service. The review mentioned that out of 17 full hookup sites, 3 were not dog-friendly, implying that the majority of these sites do accommodate pets.
However, the negative review raises concerns about the accuracy of the campground's representations regarding the nature of the campsites (sun vs. shade, spaciousness, and the presence of grass between sites). The refusal of a refund to the disappointed campers who felt the reality did not match the advertisement is also a significant point regarding customer service.
The advice from the experienced camper to "let the buyer beware of CG's who ask for full payment in advance by check" suggests that the campground's payment policies might not align with the transparency they would expect.
Features:
A primary feature of Long Island Bridge Campground is its waterfront location, offering direct access to a "super clear" lake, which is ideal for families and water enthusiasts. The presence of a friendly host, Kathy, is another positive feature highlighted in a review.
The availability of full hookup sites caters to RV campers, though the number of such sites and their characteristics (sun/shade, size) seem to vary and might not align with online depictions.
However, the significant discrepancy reported between the online representation of campsites and the actual conditions is a noteworthy feature that potential visitors should be aware of. The lack of grass between sites and the prevalence of full-sun locations for full hookup RV sites, contrary to the expectation of shaded and spacious areas, could be a major drawback for some campers.
The campground's policy of requiring full payment in advance by check and the subsequent refusal of a refund when expectations were not met are also important features of their operational practices that potential guests should consider.
Promotional Information:
Based on the positive review, Long Island Bridge Campground could promote its beautiful waterfront locations on a clear lake, highlighting it as a family-friendly environment where even young children can enjoy the water. The lovely host, Kathy, would also be a positive aspect to emphasize.
However, the strong cautionary review indicates that potential promotional materials, especially website pictures and camp maps, might not accurately reflect the reality of all campsites, particularly the full hookup RV sites. This discrepancy could lead to dissatisfaction among campers whose expectations are based on these materials.
The campground might implicitly promote itself through its payment policies (full advance payment by check), but the negative reviewer advises caution regarding this practice.
For local users seeking "camping near me" with waterfront access in Moultonborough, NH, Long Island Bridge Campground offers the allure of lakeside camping on a clear lake and a reportedly lovely host. However, it is crucial to be aware of the significant concerns raised by another experienced camper regarding the potential inaccuracies of online representations of the campsites, particularly concerning shade, spaciousness, and the presence of grass. Potential visitors, especially those with RVs requiring full hookups, are strongly advised to seek detailed and current information about specific site conditions before booking, and perhaps be cautious about payment policies requiring full advance payment by check without a clear understanding of the exact site they will receive.
If you are considering Long Island Bridge Campground, you can contact them at (603) 253-6053 or +1 603-253-6053. Their address is 29 Long Island Rd, Moultonborough, NH 03254, USA. It would be wise to call and ask specific questions about the availability and actual conditions of the campsites that meet your needs, especially if you have specific requirements regarding shade, space, or hookups, to ensure your "camping near me" experience aligns with your expectations.

Sep 29, 2024 · Lukas FritscherDo not rent a campsite here based on website pictures or camp map. 4 months ago, we reserved 2 nights and paid by check. The pictures show shaded spacious sites. We have a motorhome and asked for a full hockup. Out of 17, 3 are not dog friendly and the rest are in full sun. Their map shows green gas between each campsite which is non-existant. When we asked for a refund. We were refused any. We are experienced campers who spend months on the road every year. If we used a credit card, we would have stopped payment and left. Let the buyer beware of CG's who ask for full payment in advance by check.
Sep 13, 2024 · Jack StillwaggonThe CLEANEST bathrooms and showers I've ever used at a campground, full stop, no exaggeration. Amazing service, no one bothers you, it's right on the lake. Can't say enough good things.
Sep 02, 2024 · Brendon VelletriNice quiet campground. There are mostly seasonals here, which is a plus for me. They don’t have a pool, which is another plus for me. I don’t like the noise that comes with a pool at a campground. The lady in the office is very nice. I don’t know if she is the owner or not, but she is always here. The sites for weekenders are very well maintained. The whole campground is in exceptional condition. Very well manicured. The campground is across the road from the lake, which makes access extremely easy and convenient.
Oct 10, 2021 · Tim MerrillSpent Labor Day Weekend in a cabin here with some friends and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The cabin had everything, the lake was just across the street and its location is close to nearby stores. The owner Kathy and staff were super friendly and personable, and the other campers were too. We even rented some kayaks and spent the afternoon on the lake. Not to mention, I was also surprised at how quickly I received my security deposit for the cabin back! I will definitely be returning!
