Important Considerations for RV Campers: Road Access
If you plan on bringing an RV to Bell Bay Campground, it's crucial to be aware of the road conditions leading to the site. According to a visitor, the last few miles of the road, while paved after a section of dirt road, are quite narrow. The road is described as being just wide enough for a single RV, with limited or no space to pull over if you encounter another RV traveling in the opposite direction. This could potentially create a challenging situation, so RV drivers should exercise caution and be mindful of oncoming traffic.
A Note on Maintenance: Blind Corners
One of the reviewers noted that the park service might need to trim back some of the bushes along the road, as there are several blind corners. This is valuable feedback for potential visitors, suggesting that caution should be exercised while driving within the campground area.

Bell Bay Campground Reviews
Fantastic old school Forrest Service Campground perched above the lake and bathed in ample shade from the trees! Amazing swim dock for cooling off in the lake. Clean spacious campsites. About 15 minutes driving to reach Harrison for supplies.
Jul 19, 2024 · Kenny GrossBeautiful campground (lower loop) and views. Clean, nice camp host, very quiet. Access to the lake by a trail at the lower loop.NOTE: If you’re pulling an RV be aware of the last few miles (paved after the dirt), as the road is big enough for you and that’s it. Nowhere to pull to the side if you were to meet another RV coming up/down. Would be a very interesting situation.Park service also needs to cut back the bushes as there are a lot of blind corners. Will stay here again.
Jul 05, 2023 · Sleep NeverWe planned to spend three nights here but the smoke from Oregon suddenly appeared and we left after one night. We were so sorry not to be able to say good buy to our fantastic hosts Keith and Caroline. They were so helpful and fun. They went out of their way to accommodate us. I hope somehow they see this review and understand why we disappeared. We are Erika and Andy Kalman from Ann Arbor Michigan. The campground has access to the lake and although the water was cold it refreshed us on the hot day. The upper loop had been closed and the lower loop had only a few sites so we were lucky to get the last spot when arrived around 2 pm.This campground was recommended to us by our daughter who stayed here in June with her family.
Sep 21, 2020 · Erika KalmanNice place to camp, very quiet and clean. The bathrooms are all long drop toilets but are well maintained by the hosts daily. Visiting in July there were mosquitoes but that was expected as it is in the forest. The few downsides were; the road to get to the campground was quite long and were on skinny, windy roads. Also, it was nice to have water access but in order to get to the water you would have to walk down a steep hill and all that was at the bottom were 2 docks and no beach. But in the town of Harrison not too far away there are quite a few beautiful beaches. I highly recommend Carlin Bay Beach in Harrison, Idaho!
Jul 12, 2019 · Hannah CookWater is easy to access, and Outhouses are kept in good, clean condition. The campground managers were helpful, friendly and always easy to find. The view from several of the sites is absolutely breathtaking (if you like water), and the fishing from the docks was outstanding! We will definitely be back!
