Bennett Spring State Park Cabins (Rentals) Introduce
If you are searching for "camping near me" and considering cabin rentals within a Missouri State Park, Bennett Spring State Park, located near Lebanon, might be an option to explore. For local users browsing platforms under the category of "camping near me," state park cabins often offer a blend of natural immersion and basic amenities. Bennett Spring State Park is known for its excellent trout fishing, which is highlighted in one of the provided reviews. Let's take a closer look at what the available information suggests about the environment, services, features, and any promotional aspects of the cabins for rent within this park.
Environment: Within Bennett Spring State Park, Known for Fishing
The address simply states "Lebanon, MO 65536, USA," which places the cabins within or very near Bennett Spring State Park. One reviewer mentions that their father visits annually, sometimes twice, specifically to fish, and has been doing so for 50 years, half the park's existence. This strongly suggests that the environment is a key draw, particularly for anglers. The same review notes ongoing construction for upgrading the hatchery, indicating efforts to maintain or improve the park's fishing resources. While the natural beauty of the park itself is alluded to ("The outdoors is great!"), the specific environment of the cabin rentals isn't detailed in terms of immediate surroundings (e.g., wooded, lakeside). However, being within a state park known for its natural attractions, especially fishing, implies a setting conducive to outdoor activities. For those searching "camping near me" who are interested in state parks with fishing opportunities, Bennett Spring State Park's location is a significant environmental feature.
Services and Amenities: Mixed Feedback on Cabin Quality
One of the reviews provides a critical perspective on the condition of the cabins. For a stated price of "almost $200 a night," the reviewer expressed disappointment. Specific issues mentioned include blinds in the front bedroom that did not open or close, a lack of draperies leading to privacy concerns due to broken window slats, a stove replaced by a smaller "mini stove," and a broken microwave. Additionally, a baking tray reportedly did not fit in the mini oven, causing fire alarms to activate without any actual smoke. The reviewer stated that these issues were reported to the front desk upon arrival and again three days into their five-day stay, with no resolution. This feedback suggests that while the park itself might offer services (like a front desk), the quality and maintenance of the rental cabins may be inconsistent. For those searching "camping near me" who expect a certain level of comfort and functionality for the price of cabin rentals, this review raises concerns about the services and amenities within the cabins at Bennett Spring State Park.
Features: Basic Cabin Functionality with Potential Shortcomings
Based on the negative review, the features of at least some of the Bennett Spring State Park cabins include a bedroom with blinds, windows (some with broken slats), a stove (albeit a mini one), and a microwave (which in this case was broken). The presence of a fire alarm is also noted. The lack of shelving or other interior features isn't mentioned, but the focus is on the malfunctioning or inadequate aspects of what was present. The positive review doesn't detail cabin features, focusing instead on the fishing and the reviewer's personal connection to the park. Therefore, based on the available information, the features of the rental cabins appear to be basic but potentially not well-maintained. For those using "camping near me" to find cabin rentals with specific amenities or a certain standard of upkeep, it would be prudent to seek more current and comprehensive information about the cabin features at Bennett Spring State Park.
Promotional Information: Primarily Focused on the Park's Legacy and Fishing
The promotional aspect gleaned from the reviews leans heavily on the park's history and its reputation for fishing. The mention of a 50-year tradition of visiting to fish highlights the enduring appeal of Bennett Spring State Park for anglers. The anticipation of the hatchery upgrade being completed suggests an ongoing commitment to enhancing the fishing experience. However, there is no explicit promotional information regarding the cabins themselves. The negative review about the cabin's condition could be seen as a deterrent rather than promotional. Therefore, for those searching "camping near me" specifically for cabin rentals at Bennett Spring, the promotional aspect seems to be more about the park's natural attractions, particularly fishing, rather than the quality or features of the cabins themselves.

The park itself is highly regarded for its fishing, attracting visitors for decades. Bennett Spring State Park Cabins (Rentals) Reviews
My dad goes here every single year sometimes twice to fish. He has been going there for 50 years which is half of the park existence. I hadn't been there for about 30 years so going back was awesome to me although my dad was a little disappointed because of the construction going on upgrading the hatchery. But he knows it needs to be done and will probably return once it is completely done.
Oct 28, 2024 · Christopher WheelessFor almost $200 a night I would expect the cabin to be in better shape. The blinds in the front bedroom did not open or close. There were no draperies so the broken slats in two windows allowed anyone to see in. The stove had been replaced by a mini stove and the microwave was broken. The baking tray couldn’t fit it the mini oven and caused the fire alarms to go off, even though there was no smoke. We advised the front desk on our arrival and 3 days into our 5 day stay and nothing has been done. The outdoors is great! Be prepared to be disappointed with your accommodations.
Sep 21, 2021 · Jane BindbeutelBeware. . . Stayed with another family in the Fourplex. We rented both top apartments for two nights. It is obvious no money is being put back into the buildings. The interior looks to have been updated 25-30 years ago. There is a huge leak in the ceiling of the living/dining room. Wall paper is peeling off walls in all rooms. There is missing tile, plus tile falling off of the wall in the bathroom. None of the kitchen drawers are on tracks, they all fall in. The back deck and porch leading to the front door has rotting wood. Not clean. If I had small children, this would not be the place to stay. For the large amount of money they charge, the property company should be ashamed.
Jul 13, 2021 · Kris ArteagaMy family loves to come here and fish. The motel, although a little rustic and dated, is always super clean. We always get a good home cooked breakfast at the restaurant.
Apr 04, 2021 · Kemple FlooringVery nice cabins . we love sitting on the back deck over looking the pool . check in went well everyone seems nice. They need a little outside maintenance cleaning the Windows siding and deck but other than that, great !!
