Bennett Spring State Park Campground Introduce
For local adventurers and nature lovers seeking an outstanding "camping near me" experience, Bennett Spring State Park Campground in Lebanon, MO, offers an idyllic retreat within the renowned Bennett Spring State Park. Located at 1 BBSP12, Lebanon, MO 65536, USA, and reachable by phone at (417) 532-4338 or +1 417-532-4338, this campground provides a unique and inviting atmosphere for a variety of camping preferences. Situated within a larger state park known for its natural beauty and exceptional fishing opportunities, Bennett Spring State Park Campground is a prime destination for those looking to immerse themselves in the Ozark landscape.
The environment of Bennett Spring State Park Campground is consistently praised for its beauty and natural charm. One reviewer highlighted the presence of five separate, smaller campgrounds within the park, which contributes to a more natural and cozy atmosphere compared to larger, more sprawling campgrounds. This design allows for a greater sense of privacy and immersion in the surroundings. The state park itself is described as "beautiful," indicating that campers can expect scenic landscapes, potentially including wooded areas, the famous Bennett Spring, and the clear waters of the stream. The park's reputation as an "amazing spot to go" for fishing further underscores the quality of the natural environment and the opportunities it offers for outdoor recreation. For those searching for "camping near me" that combines a picturesque setting with access to natural attractions, Bennett Spring State Park Campground delivers on both fronts.
The services at Bennett Spring State Park Campground cater to both RV and tent campers. One reviewer specifically mentioned staying in campground one during the winter and being able to make reservations online beforehand, which is a significant convenience. Campground one is also noted to be the only one available during the winter months. For RVers, the campground offers "small orderly RV campground with full hookups," which typically includes electric, water, and sewer connections, providing a comfortable and convenient stay. Additionally, a "heated bathroom" is mentioned as an amenity, which is particularly appreciated during colder months. For tent campers, the wooded and natural setting of the various campgrounds provides appealing sites. However, one potential drawback mentioned in a review about campground one is the presence of only one toilet. While this wasn't an issue during a low-occupancy winter stay, the reviewer anticipates it could lead to lines and inconvenience during the regular, busier season. It's advisable to inquire about the restroom facilities in the specific campground you are reserving, especially if traveling during peak season. Another service highlighted is the allowance for guests to park their cars near the boat ramp while engaging in multi-day floats on the Niangua River, demonstrating a willingness to accommodate visitors pursuing other recreational activities in the area.
The features of Bennett Spring State Park Campground are diverse and cater to a range of outdoor interests. The presence of five separate, smaller campgrounds contributes to a more intimate and natural camping experience. For fly fishing enthusiasts, the park is a renowned destination, with "catch & release events" often taking place and numerous "wonderful fishing spots" available. The availability of "cabins" offers an alternative lodging option for those who prefer not to tent camp or bring an RV. The full hookups at the RV sites provide added convenience for RV travelers. The heated bathroom is a notable feature, especially for off-season camping. Furthermore, the park's location provides direct access to the recreational opportunities within Bennett Spring State Park, including fishing, hiking, and exploring the spring itself. The proximity to the Niangua River also makes it a convenient starting point for float trips. The quiet atmosphere noted at the RV site by one reviewer adds to the appeal for those seeking a peaceful camping experience. The combination of well-maintained facilities, excellent fishing access, and the option for float trips makes Bennett Spring State Park Campground a standout choice for "camping near me" with a focus on outdoor activities and natural beauty.
While the provided reviews do not explicitly mention specific promotional information or discounts, it's common for state parks to have varying rates depending on the season, type of campsite (e.g., electric vs. non-electric), and residency status. It is recommended to visit the official Missouri State Parks website or contact the Bennett Spring State Park directly at (417) 532-4338 or +1 417-532-4338 to inquire about current camping fees, reservation policies, and any potential discounts or special offers that might be available. Online reservation systems for state parks often provide detailed information about pricing and availability. Checking for seasonal specials or weekday discounts might also be beneficial for local users looking for cost-effective "camping near me" options.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that combines natural beauty with excellent recreational opportunities, Bennett Spring State Park Campground is a compelling choice. The positive reviews highlight the scenic environment, the coziness of the smaller campgrounds, and the exceptional fishing opportunities, particularly for fly fishing. The availability of full hookups for RVs and the mention of a heated bathroom add to the comfort and convenience. However, potential campers should be mindful of the potential for limited restroom facilities in some campgrounds during peak season, as noted in one review. It is always advisable to make reservations in advance, especially during popular times of the year, and to inquire about the specific amenities and facilities available at your chosen campsite. The option to park near the boat ramp for float trips is an added bonus for those planning to explore the Niangua River.
In conclusion, Bennett Spring State Park Campground offers a remarkable "camping near me" experience within a beautiful and well-regarded state park. With its five distinct campgrounds, access to fantastic fishing, including fly fishing, options for RVs with full hookups, and proximity to the Niangua River for float trips, it caters to a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts. Bennett Spring State Park Campground Reviews
This was a beautiful campground. I like how it has five separate campgrounds and none of them are very large. It makes for a more natural and cozy atmosphere and feeling. Also of course the rest of the state park is beautiful as well. And if you want fishing and amazing spot to go.Edit: update after going again during the winter. We stayed in campground one because it is the only one available. We were able to make reservations online before arriving. One bad thing about campground. One is there is only one toilet. Well that was not a problem when we went because there was only four campers total. I imagine it would be a problem during the regular season and there would be a line quite often.
Dec 16, 2024 · Nathan PowersIf you like fly fishing, this is the place for you! Catch & release events, cabins, small orderly RV campground with full hookups and a heated bathroom. Many wonderful fishing spots.I stayed here one night before launching for a float on the Niangua River. The RV site was quiet, bathroom and shower clean and warm.We were allowed to park our cars near the boat ramp while we did a 3 day float, taking out at Leadmine. We chose to camp on gravel bars but there are private campgrounds down river that you should consider.
