Glenwood, Washington, situated in the southern part of the state, is known for its natural beauty, characterized by forests, creeks, and proximity to the Cascade Mountains. The environment surrounding Bird Creek Campground is likely to be defined by its namesake – a creek flowing alongside the campsites, offering the soothing sounds of running water and potential opportunities for enjoying the water's edge. The reviews highlight the presence of this creek as a significant positive aspect of the campground's ambiance. Furthermore, the exciting discovery of a trail leading to a waterfall directly from the last campsite on the right adds a unique and adventurous dimension to the camping experience at Bird Creek Campground. For those actively searching for "camping near me" that combines the serenity of a creekside setting with the thrill of a waterfall hike, Bird Creek Campground appears to be a promising destination.
As a campground within the "camping near me" category, Bird Creek Campground is expected to provide essential services to accommodate overnight stays in a natural environment. While specific details about the services and amenities are not explicitly mentioned in the limited reviews, we can infer some common offerings typically found at campgrounds:
- Campsites: The reviews refer to individual campsites, suggesting designated areas for pitching tents or parking smaller camping vehicles. The mention of a specific "last campsite on the right" with trail access implies a layout with individual spots. Information on the size and type of campsites (e.g., tent-only, suitable for small RVs) would be beneficial for planning.
- Water Source: Campgrounds generally provide access to potable water for drinking and basic hygiene. The presence of a creek might offer an additional water source (though typically requiring treatment before consumption).
- Toilet Facilities: Expect basic toilet facilities, which could range from vault toilets to more developed flush toilets depending on the campground's infrastructure.
- Waste Disposal: Proper waste management is essential in any campground. Designated trash receptacles are likely provided.
- Campfire Provisions: Many campgrounds offer designated fire pits or rings at campsites for campfires and cooking (subject to local regulations and fire safety levels).
- Picnic Tables: A picnic table at each campsite is a common amenity for convenience.
- Potential for Wildlife: One reviewer mentioned seeing deer, chipmunks, and a wild turkey, indicating the presence of wildlife in the area. This can be a delightful feature for nature lovers seeking "camping near me" with opportunities for wildlife observation.
The features of Bird Creek Campground, as gleaned from the enthusiastic reviews, highlight its natural appeal:
- Creekside Location: The campground's proximity to Bird Creek is a major feature, offering a tranquil setting and the soothing sounds of flowing water, enhancing the overall "camping near me" experience.
- Waterfall Trail Access: The unique feature of a trail leading to a waterfall directly from at least one campsite (the last one on the right) is a significant draw for those seeking a bit of adventure and natural beauty within easy reach of their campsite. This makes Bird Creek Campground stand out as a potentially special "camping near me" destination.
- Wildlife Viewing Opportunities: The reported sightings of deer, chipmunks, and a wild turkey suggest that the area is rich in wildlife, offering campers the chance to observe local fauna in their natural habitat.
- Potentially Smaller and More Intimate Setting: The lack of extensive reviews might suggest a smaller, less crowded campground, which can be appealing to those seeking a more peaceful and intimate "camping near me" experience away from larger, busier sites.
- Natural Beauty of Glenwood, WA: The surrounding area of Glenwood likely offers its own natural attractions, such as forests, hiking trails, and scenic views, which campers at Bird Creek Campground can explore.
- Cooler Temperatures: One reviewer noted that it "can get cold here," suggesting that the campground might be located at a higher elevation or in a shaded area, offering a cooler retreat, especially during warmer months. Campers should be prepared for varying temperatures.

The customer reviews, though brief, are overwhelmingly positive. The enthusiastic recommendation from one reviewer who "just love this place so much" speaks volumes about the campground's appeal. Bird Creek Campground Reviews
I know my mom doesn't want me to write reviews, but I just love this place so much that I have to share! It is wonderful! Right next to a creek and if you're at the last campsite on the right, there's a trail that leads to a waterfall! Highly recommend!

Apr 06, 2022 · AnselBeautiful campground, spent many summers here as a kid and have so many good memories! Some may complain about dirt bikes but this is one of the only state parks that allow dirt bike riding anymore so its a tradition for many people. There are beautiful dirt bike trails that take you all over. Definitely reccomend if your family rides!
Jun 26, 2019 · Jeannie KnottCouldn't park next to out tents to air up our beds too close to neighbors. Bathrooms were gross and needed attention. You could smell the out house at or camp site every time the bathrooms were used. We had to dig out the fire pit for out was filled with garbage and glass. Every time somebody drove through the campsite you got dusted out. Then another campsite somebody started a fire and we had to cut our camping trip short bad experience all around but smelling the Outhouse was the worst nothing like sitting down to eat your dinner and get a nice with a pootie.
Jun 04, 2018 · Alicia McInturffWe were harassed by a guy who got mad at us because we asked nicely if his son would not use the campground for trail riding. It's noisy and kicks up dust into your campground. This guy then got even and rode the bike in front of our campground to teach us a lesson. We were so threatened we had to pack up and leave. We called the sheriff who met us outside the campground. They apologized and hoped we would come back to support their community again. They went to go find and talk to this guy. Our family has camped up at Birdcreek for over 25 years, but we can't anymore because on weekends, it's taken over by folks who let their kids ride ATVs in the campground.
