Blackbeards Treasure Campground Introduce
For local residents in North Carolina and surrounding areas seeking a "camping near me" experience that combines breathtaking waterfront views with convenient beach access, Blackbeards Treasure Campground, located at 610 Roland Ave, Surf City, NC 28445, USA, offers a unique coastal getaway. Based on recent customer reviews, this introduction will detail the environment, services, and features of the campground, providing local users with an objective assessment of what to expect for their next camping adventure.
Enchanting Waterfront and Beachside Environment: Blackbeards Treasure Campground boasts a truly exceptional location in Surf City, North Carolina. Reviews highlight "beautiful views" and campsites that are "backed up to the water," offering an "awesome view of bridge" and immediate access to the water right from your RV or campsite. This waterfront setting likely provides opportunities for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying the serene coastal scenery. Furthermore, the campground is described as being "literally steps to water out of RV" and also within "a super easy walk to the beach too!!!" This dual access to both the inner waterway and the ocean beach is a significant environmental advantage, allowing campers to experience the diverse coastal ecosystems and enjoy a variety of activities, from birdwatching ("lots of beach birds") to swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. However, one review does caution about the terrain, stating it can get "very, very muddy" and even "epic mud" during rainy conditions, advising visitors to "bring rubber boots if it rains." This suggests that while the location is prime, the ground may be prone to becoming waterlogged and muddy after precipitation.
Services and Amenities Offered with Friendly Staff: Blackbeards Treasure Campground appears to prioritize customer service and essential amenities for a comfortable stay:
- Waterfront Campsites: A key service is the provision of campsites directly adjacent to the water, offering unparalleled views and immediate access. These sites are likely equipped to accommodate RVs and may also have designated areas for tent camping.
- Beach Access: The campground's proximity to the beach is a major service, allowing for easy and quick trips to the sandy shores of Surf City.
- Hookups: One reviewer mentioned having an issue with the "50 amp not working" upon arrival, but also noted that the staff was "super awesome about it!!" and presumably resolved the issue. This implies the availability of electrical hookups (including 50 amp service), and likely water and sewer hookups as well, catering primarily to RV campers.
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: Multiple reviews praise the "friendly staff" and their helpfulness in resolving issues, indicating a positive customer service experience.
While not explicitly mentioned, it's reasonable to expect other standard campground amenities such as restroom and shower facilities, and possibly laundry facilities. Given the waterfront and beachside location, there might also be outdoor water spigots for rinsing gear and possibly picnic tables and grilling areas at the campsites. Local users may want to contact the campground directly to confirm the availability of specific amenities.
Features That Make Blackbeards Treasure Unique: The standout features of Blackbeards Treasure Campground are its exceptional location and the positive experiences highlighted by reviewers:
- Unbeatable Location: The combination of being directly on the water with easy beach access is a rare and highly desirable feature for coastal camping. The views of the water and potentially a nearby bridge add to the scenic appeal.
- Direct Water Access from Campsites: Being able to step out of your RV or tent and be right at the water's edge offers a unique and immersive coastal experience.
- Proximity to Surf City Attractions: Surf City is a popular beach town, and the campground's location likely provides convenient access to local restaurants, shops, and other attractions.
- Positive Customer Service: The consistently mentioned friendly and helpful staff contributes significantly to a positive camping experience, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for.
- Wildlife Observation: The presence of "lots of beach birds" suggests opportunities for birdwatching and enjoying the local coastal wildlife.

Jan 06, 2024 · Melody FarnhamLocation location location!!! The spots are backed up to the water and a min awesome view of bridge and literally steps to water out of RV. Jun 21, 2022 · Amanda HughesI like this place a lot , the view was amazing. Lots of boats , seado's , kayaking, paddle boarding , not a lot of commercial fishing boats . Backed right up to the water, there were even people fishing right behind there campers . The camping area of camp grou d is small and the campers are in there a bit tight , but my hubby and I still had a lot of fun , you'll hear and see a lot helicopters 🚁 , but it was during the day very quiet and peaceful at night . The campground was on like the end of a side road surrounded by water on three side , on the into the campground you'll pass a Hardee's , a seafood restaurant called the Crab 🦀pot was amazing , a pizza place a bar and grill all within walking distance one of those photos was taken from the kitchen ,pretty cool place 😋 Will be going back ,
Aug 31, 2022 · Belinda StiersWe enjoyed staying here. Our site backed up to the water and the view was wonderful. Lots of permanent rigs and the place is very quite. My only complaint would be that the sites are VERY narrow...if I had put my canopy fully out it would have hit the next camper so not much privacy. We would go back again.
