Blue Ridge Basecamp Reviews
Just back from my second stay at BRB. Absolutely love this place! The location is perfect if you’re looking to really get away from everything and experience all that nature provides with zero hustle and bustle. They do have all the amenities that anyone traveling by RV/Camper could ever want, including full hookups, WiFi, and firewood service if needed. The hosts, Nick and Tja, are top notch at helping you in your spot if needed, local to do information, and overall just making sure your stay is exceptional. I am already looking forward to being back again. Hopefully, I can start coming more than once a year. Thank you!
Apr 14, 2025 · craigroe22We love Blue ridge BaseCamp!! My husband is an avid kayaker and we love to raft together. Blue ridge basecamp has the perfect location right past the upper cascades of Nantahala river and not far from the cheoah river. Also, it is very close to the NOC. Tia and Nick are amazing host and have become fast friends! We love them! We stayed 5 times now and have had a great experience every time.
Feb 12, 2025 · Kristin McFallsWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Ridge Basecamp! It is conveniently located to some amazing fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. We stayed in the primitive sites (#5). Crossing the stream to shuttle gear over is easy, there are large rocks in place to use as steps without getting wet. We can't wait to get back to BRB to camp again!
Oct 30, 2024 · Clay DawsonWe really enjoyed our stay at Blue Ridge Base campground. The campground was well maintained. The host was friendly and helpful. Let us borrow a hose for our RV so as not have to run into town immediately for the item. The area was quiet and well lit. The campground is close to the lake and hiking trails. If your and adventurer there is an old road that winds up back behind the campgrounds. There are a few good spots to view the lake. The RV sight had a nice fire pit to use and a picknick table that was great tom have so we could sit outside. So, if you're looking for a family friendly place that even your well-behaved fur baby can enjoy then book your stay here. You will really enjoy your stay.
Aug 22, 2024 · Breezy KittyThis was the perfect tent site for us! Tja was so nice and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed (didn’t get the chance to meet Nick—but I’m sure he is lovely as well!) She even brought more firewood (for purchase) after we ran out. Area is kept very clean of leaves and debris and there were hammocks already set up around. We stayed in tent site #3 and set up right on the creek. We were the only tent campers this weekend so we had the place to ourselves, I imagine it fills up during warmer months. My only complaint is the tent sites are pretty close together with no real buffer or privacy between them. This was fine as I mentioned, we were the only tent campers—just thought it was good information to share! The tent sites are not far from the parking, so carrying our stuff wasn’t bad at all. If you have trouble carrying heavy things, maybe consider a wagon, it is probably a few hundred feet from car to site. Site 1 is the closest to the parking. Sites 4 and 5 are over a shallow creek, there are sturdy rocks to cross over. I added photos with some notes as well. The rented camper sites overlook the valley/tent area and looked very nice from the outside! The porta potty was very clean and had an automatic light inside for nighttime. There was also a disc golf basket we enjoyed! The WiFi was also very reliable which is not a necessity for us but a nice luxury!Overall this was a fantastic spot to camp and we will be back next year for certain! Thanks Tia!
