Boone KOA Holiday Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the scenic Boone, North Carolina area, Boone KOA Holiday, located at 123 Harmony Mountain Ln, Boone, NC 28607, USA, is a well-regarded option. You can reach them by phone at (828) 264-7250 or mobile at +1 828-264-7250. Based on recent customer reviews, Boone KOA Holiday offers a generally pleasant camping experience with helpful staff and a convenient location, though some aspects like noise and Wi-Fi have received mixed feedback.
Environment and Location:
Boone KOA Holiday is situated in a location that many find appealing, offering a sense of "nice peace and quiet" according to one reviewer. While the campground itself might not be heavily wooded, many sites offer at least some shade, which is appreciated by campers. The grounds are described as "nice and attended to frequently," suggesting that the overall appearance and upkeep are generally good. Its proximity to Boone also means that there are "lots to do within driving distance," making it a convenient base for exploring the local attractions and natural beauty of the area.
However, one guest mentioned an issue with noise from a maintenance cart, particularly early in the morning or late at night, which detracted from the peace and quiet they otherwise enjoyed. This is something light sleepers might want to consider.
Services and Amenities:
The staff at Boone KOA Holiday are consistently praised as "super helpful and nice," which can significantly enhance the camping experience. The campground accommodates various types of campers, likely offering RV sites, tent sites, and possibly cabins (common at KOA Holiday locations, though not explicitly stated in these reviews). While the reviews mention that most sites have some shade, satellite connectivity seems to be manageable for those who need it.
The Wi-Fi service receives mixed reviews. One guest described it as "horrible," recommending bringing a Starlink connection, while another found it "fine, not great." This suggests that the reliability and speed of the Wi-Fi might vary, so those heavily reliant on internet access should be prepared. The showers and baths are noted as "clean with good water pressure," although they are also described as "a bit dated." This indicates that while functional and clean, the facilities might not be the newest.
For recreation within the campground, there is an on-site putt-putt course. One reviewer humorously noted that it is "designed for little ones but made me feel very accomplished," suggesting it's a fun, albeit perhaps simple, activity available on-site. While not explicitly detailed, KOA Holiday campgrounds often feature other amenities like a camp store, laundry facilities, and possibly a playground, though these are not mentioned in the provided reviews.
Promotional Aspects and Why Choose Boone KOA Holiday:
If you are looking for "camping near me" in Boone, NC, Boone KOA Holiday offers several appealing features. The consistently positive feedback about the helpful and nice staff suggests a welcoming and supportive environment. The generally well-maintained grounds and the availability of shaded sites contribute to a comfortable stay. The clean showers and baths, despite being a bit older, are a definite plus.
The on-site putt-putt provides a bit of lighthearted fun, especially for families with younger children. Moreover, the campground's location offers a balance of a somewhat peaceful setting with convenient access to the many attractions and activities available in the Boone area. Whether you're interested in exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Appalachian State University, or enjoying the local dining and shopping, Boone KOA Holiday serves as a convenient base.
However, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues with the noise from the maintenance cart and the potentially unreliable Wi-Fi. If you are sensitive to noise during sleeping hours or require strong internet connectivity, you might want to inquire further about these aspects or plan accordingly.
Given that it is a KOA Holiday campground, you can likely expect a certain standard of amenities and services, often including options for RVs, tents, and cabins. While the reviews here don't detail all of these, the general reputation of KOA for providing well-organized campgrounds with various facilities is worth considering.
In Conclusion:
Boone KOA Holiday appears to be a generally well-regarded "camping near me" option in Boone, NC, known for its helpful staff, clean (though dated) facilities, and convenient location with access to local attractions. While some guests have noted issues with noise from maintenance and variable Wi-Fi quality, the overall sentiment seems positive, with mentions of peace and quiet (aside from the maintenance cart) and well-maintained grounds.
If you are planning a camping trip to the Boone area and value friendly service and a basecamp with some on-site amenities, Boone KOA Holiday is worth considering. It would be beneficial to inquire about the campground's layout and potential noise levels when booking, and to have alternative internet options if reliable Wi-Fi is crucial for your stay. Overall, it seems to offer a solid option for those looking to enjoy the beauty and activities of the Boone region while having a comfortable place to stay.

Oct 30, 2024 · Belinda isahappygirlAfter many years of camping up at the Boone KOA, it still is the best, most relaxing and enjoyable place to camp. You won't be disappointed. Simple but has everything you need. Quiet, peaceful, a few donkeys and even a cow or two in the distance. Just a great place.
Oct 28, 2024 · Brian LancasterOur family camped here mid September after enjoying our earlier stay in June. The grandkids love the pool, playground as well as the goats & donkeys they fed. We booked a spot closest to the cow pasture for the best view. Our grandkids loved seeing the cows come to graze in the area once or twice a day. We had absolutely no issues with cow patty smells. Everyone walking their dog in the area was considerate and cleaned up after their dog. Our four grandkids ran in the field designated for pet walking multiple times with no instances of poop on shoes. The restrooms at the store are spacious and clean offering three shower stalls all with a private dressing area. If you’re lucky enough to be camping when the fresh loaves of sourdough bread are available for purchase, you must grab a loaf or two! It’s fantastic! The staff were super friendly during both visits. We will be back!
Oct 05, 2024 · Deb DHad plans to be there the weekend after the Hurricane, for obvious reasons we didn't make it. We were honored with a refund of our deposit with out a request, I was surprised and thankful. Looking forward to getting another reservation on the books when your beautiful area is put back together. Stay Safe and Thanks!
